  • These honey glazed roast parsnips are the perfect side dish for your Christmas day showpiece! They are delicious, yet so simple to prepare and cook. Transform the humble parsnip into something to devour!
    Give these a try. Suited for the Christmas season, but hey, you can eat them anytime.
    After all, what's a Christmas Dinner without Honey Roast Parsnips? If you’d like a healthier version, simply don’t use the honey.

    Serves 3-4 (easily doubled)
    Honey Roasted Parsnips Recipe
    500g (1.1lbs) parsnips. Peeled and large ones halved
    1tbsp plain flower
    1-2 tbsp honey/maple syrup or similar
    2 olive oil or sunflower oil
    2 tbsp butter
    Boil parsnips in salted water for 3-5 minutes until softening
    drain and leave to steam dry
    Heat butter and oil in a pre heated oven 190c/170f fan gas 5 or 374f 0r 340f fan
    Toss drained parsnips in the honey and flower and roast for 30-40 minutes, turning half way.
    Enjoy!

    I’ve considered growing parsnips but I wasn’t sure what I’d do with them. This is a great idea!

    Have you tried these without boiling them? I do mine with oil and a beef oxo cube for seasoning. 40 mins at 190-200c. 😀

      Hi Susan.
      I wouldn’t recommend this, I’m afraid. You could prep as far as par boiling the. Then place them in a ziplock bag in the fridge for up to 24 hours

    I tried this exact recipe and my cat needed up eating 3 of them then commuted to Albania and committed war crimes in Ethiopia. He’s due to stand trial on the 23rd of januember
