A question - when using the slider near the beginning of the demo, it looks like your manually panning the head during the slide, correct? Also, are you, at times, just manually moving the slider, rather than using the motor/app? Cheers!

    • @tombuck
      @tombuck  4 роки тому

    Good day. New subscriber here. Greetings from the Philippines.. Im so happy that i found this channel and specifically this video tutorial.. Dont know why but it makes me 😢 a little because cant find this kind of tutorial and watching it, from the very start up to ending a b-roll or showcasing a product..
    Im planning to do my first unboxing/showcasing video of a gaming peripherals and this is really makes my questions and prayers answered..
    And hoping i can do it even using just a smartphone and cheap instruments..
    But can i ask one more help, how can i showcase many products? Like mouse, headset, keyboard, etc..
    Thanks much for this and more power to your yt channel.. You deserve million..

    • @tombuck
      @tombuck  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the kind words! Sounds like you're ready to get started on your own! It doesn't matter if you don't have fancy equipment at first, just do the best you can with what you've got. Spend a lot of time practicing, and each video will come out better than the one before it.
      As for how to showcase many products, I've found that "flat lays" are pretty effective. Find a nice big surface like a table or floor, arrange the items in a neat layout, and position your camera above them facing down. There are tripods/stands that will help with overhead shots, but I've also had friends just tape their phones to the ceiling and it looked great 🤷🏻‍♂️

      @@tombuck whoooooow.. Thanks much for the reply. Didnt expect it to have an answer on my question.. I really appreciate it Sir.. 😊😊😊
      I'll try my very best on my first video and do what you've said.. And one more thing, in showcasing a product, does it need to do a b-roll for each item? And how long should the video? Im really sorry for asking too many questions.. Not have the chance to ask from an expert and thanks that you've given me a chance about it..

  • @sharingmatters
    @sharingmatters 4 роки тому +1

    Thanks for the video - you have an amazing lighting when sitting behind your desk. Is it because of to the lamps you have (which ones are used)? Or post production? You can see the differences when compared with a shot when you stand (4:00) and have a desk behind where lighting is much worse.
    And with the wideo preview - you have the most eye-cathing images - stunning blue colours and lighting. What is the trick? :)

    • @tombuck
      @tombuck  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you! The main key light is a FalconEyes flexible LED panel. I actually just made a video about it yesterday. Then I have a small Dracast light on my desk bouncing off the window blinds to act as a fill.
      For the main shot, I just like bright colors, so I have several RGB lights in the room to add color, and then I angle my key light in a way where it fills most of the space. I also recently did a “studio tour” video that explains all this.

      Gerald I done would approve of your filament color 🤣 great video.....B-Roll is super crucial to keeping the attention. Can’t be lazy sometime I am and it never ends well. Good job!

      Laziness can definitely be tough to overcome. Sometimes “good enough” just isn’t quite good enough. And purple is a really underrated color.

    I was looking through your tripods. What's the benefit of using such expensive tripods? is it okay if I went with those cheap amazon basics tripods?

      Ultimately it comes down to whether or not you want to trust thousands of dollars of camera gear to a $20 tripod. The Amazon Basics tripods are actually pretty good for the price, but they aren't nearly as sturdy and they don't let you get smooth movements for video either. My gear is actually on the cheaper side when it comes to camera supports. I purchased my main tripod in 2012 and it's still going strong 👍

      Ha! There’s definitely a reason I started adding it to the beginning of my videos 😁
