    Solid plan. later in the campaign, after you've more or less fully equipped your warband, this becomes a very reliable way of generating extra funds too, especially after you get embed enchantments casting value to ~10

    This is similar to my go to wizard. I love using the heavy armoured with two handed weapon captain though, and enchanting him up. It is risky, but he is hard to take down, and hits like a freight train, especially with the right tricks of the trade.

    I recently created an Enchanter with the same basic premise, only with Brew Potion, Leap, and Shield rather than Mud, Bone Dart and Heal. Mainly I just like the idea of winding up a Templar to +5 fight and Armour 15 (and maybe a Philtre of Fury) and then launching him like a ballistic missile at anyone fool enough to try and take my treasure. XD

      I enjoy powering up my soldiers to make tanks. It’s a really good strategy - especially if playing any of the solo content.

      That LEGO thief didn’t see it coming! 😄 Someday I want to paint up some actual figures so I’ve got some miniatures to use if I actually play against other people… but I have so little patience for painting. 🙃

      I recomend some historicals for it. It is nice to be able to use my vikings and Anglo Saxons in both this and in games like Saga. I even use druids and priests as my wizards.

      @@ostrowulf that makes sense to get something that could be usable in multiple games. I’d probably end up just getting some of the official FG or SG figures to also review them… though I wouldn’t have much to base my review on since I could only compare their quality to LEGO…which probably isn’t helpful to anyone. 😂

    Here's my build, I'm just starting with Frostgrave so would like to see if you have any comments.
    Enchant armour - as per video
    Enchant Weapon - as per video
    Embed Enchantment - as per video
    Wall - to block LOS and make it harder for the other team to walk around the battlefield
    Write Scroll - as per video
    Brew Potion - as far as I understand, this can be very handy, as you can have any lesser potion
    Heal - as per video
    Wizard's Eye - so my mage can cast enchantments etc. on bigger area

    • @bricksblocksgaming8017
      @bricksblocksgaming8017  Рік тому +1

      Wall is probably a better choice power-wise (Elemental Hammer is there for thematic reasons). Wizard Eye could be an interesting choice - while finding unaided LoS targets for the Enchant spell shouldn’t be a problem, the Eye (if not placed too far from the action) could be used to help cast Heal spells into the high action areas and Walls to funnel enemies where you want. I probably overlook that spell too much in favor of Mind Control and and Reveal Secret…but it’s great with its low Casting Number!

    A bit lacking in mobility, but still pretty close to how I would do an enchanter (don't know if that's good or bad 😅 ).

      @@bricksblocksgaming8017 That is a valid point. And it is not AS necessary as Heal (not to mention, Heal's a friendlier spell). Guess it's just to play with your soldiers (you must be paying them for something, and not just hauling heavy things) and not rely on your wizards to do all the lifting ;)

    Great video 👍 I’m currently playing my first Frostgrave campaign with an Enchanter and did pick the same starting Enchanter three spells! Great tip about the dagger, I didn’t realise that. I assume that means the knight would get a +1 fight even if he doesn’t use the dagger?

    • @bricksblocksgaming8017
      @bricksblocksgaming8017  2 роки тому +2

      That’s cool you’re playing your first campaign! When a figure has 2 weapons, you choose which one to use. So if you use the +1 Fight Dagger, it will cause -1 Damage for being a Dagger… which means it will be easier to land the hit (increased Fight) but will deal the same damage as using a plain Sword - so slightly better - and it causes Magic damage.

      @@bricksblocksgaming8017 Thank you for your response. It has been a very fun campaign nearing it’s conclusion over the coming weeks.
      In regards to the +1 fight dagger, so I’ve read the rulebook but can’t seem to find anything on whether the +1 fight applies only when attacking/defending with the weapon in combat or whether it’s a general +1 fight buff for things like dodging arrows. Your comment implies it’s only for combat but I can’t find anything in the book that suggests this?
      Thanks again 👍

    So the grab and run plan for the first few games in the campaign and then hitting hard later on. Any idea on how much lucky rolls play a part in this?

    • @bricksblocksgaming8017
      @bricksblocksgaming8017  2 роки тому +1

      Your idea for a quick in, quick out strategy might work pretty well for this Wizard. And like you said, hit hard a little later in the campaign. Luck is definitely a factor with Embed Enchantment casting on a 14. Attempting Write Scroll first (also on a 14) to help with failed rolls should on average produce at least 1 Magic Weapon per game. And after a few levels should get more reliable.
