Today I took an MT-10 out for the first time! Wow what a machine, it honestly blew my expectations out the water. Such a smooth but exciting experience.
Still need to try the SuperDuke and the s1000r so stay tuned for that :)
    Thank you for watching!

I've owned an MT10 for nearly 8 years. It's been the most fun bike ever. Self-control or lose your license with one of these.
Biggest downside is it's thirst. Brakes could actually be better.
Mine has been completely reliable as well.

    • @NicTheRip
      @NicTheRip  6 місяців тому +2

Yeah I believe it haha, self control would definitely be the hardest lart haha. The fuel economy im not to worried about bc my bike does about 100 ish miles on 20L of fuel so its also terrible🤣
But maybe thats because i like the sound of it when im accelerating🤣
      Nice bikes man!!

Great video, i picked up a brand new MT10 October. Racefit exhaust and remap and it's a whole new beast. They run so lean and are so restricted with the standard exhaust to meet emissions. At 7k rpm where I had a dip in power before the bike now makes an extra 17bhp and 10 torque at that spot in the rev range. I doubt i'll ever get bored of it now especially on the road as the power is exactly where you want it.

I bought a cruiser i never liked, loved the look and sound but it was a pain in the arse to park , put on a lift etc and the cruiser was a 1800cc with no abs which was dangerous.

Days later the Harley rider burned his motorcycle and went to buy a Yamaha MT10.

Hey Nic. No where in your ride did you tap even one third of the hp on offer. If there is a next time, find an open road, make sure the wheelie control is on max, but the bike in 2nd gear and rev the bike to the rev limiter.... Carry a clean pair of undies as not only will you soil your pants, bit it will alter your sense of reality as your brain will not be able to comprehend the acceleration, noise and speed. On UK roads you hardly need to change out of 1st gear giving that bikes capabilities. That engine only starts to wake up at about 8000rpm and the sensations you will experience goes up exponentially as you rev it from their. Many try an MT09, even that will blow your mind if your rev it to 10'000rpm. An MT10 only becomes quicker than an MT 09 over 100mph.

      This is funny haha
Yeah i had a feeling i didnt let it properly breath haha
I should be riding it again sometime in the new year and will have to give it proper winding haha
      Thanks for the heads up!
      Appreciate your comment :)

Hi Nic. When coming from a car or a Harley, your brain feels like the engine will break if you rev it to the heights that an inline 4 is designed for (And that is were all the power is). Forgot to mention, you need to red line in while holding the throttle fully open. For a long time I thought I was maxing out my MT09SP and then I realised that my wrist was inadvertently stopping me from going full throttle. Articulate the throttle while the engine is off so you can see how far you need to twist it. It will blow your mind. The only analogy I can think of is Star Trek when the Captain says Warp Speed Mr Sulu, there is a blur of light and the craft disappears.

11:56 my mt09 still gives me the same laugh sometimes LOL. Love the MT10 too. It's about out of my price range and I'm not sure I need any more power, and don't want more weight. I have heard they run a little hot in the city compared to mt09. I think for a 1000 I would want something with fairings and a screen. I think I maintain some economy with the mt-09 as well. Save some money on tires, insurance and gas compared to mt10. Love my mt09.

Mode B tends to be what a lot of people use, A is a bit much on the road, I'm still in mode C until I've run mine in, you can fit MT09 mirrors which are wider so better

I nearly pressed the button on one of these but after watching reviews of popping the wheel at 90 and the sheer speed l bought a Harley instead and like you mentioned there’s something that really bonds you to the bike- even the particular way it turns over.
Yes l like the history of the brand but if I’m honest I’m more annoyed with the marketing bs of HD than being obsessed with the name. I’d love the bike whatever it was called.

Man i could not have said it better myself. These are my exact thoughts! Theres just something special about these harleys. Its like your first love, aint nobody gonna do it the same. Think im gonna give this Harley of mine another chance before i give up on the motrcycle, its just special!
      Thanks for watching man

If you own enough Yamahas, you get used to the switchgear, but never the horn placement (button). The Japanese don’t use their horns the same way so they just stuck it on last. The 10 is a very easy bike to ride and fairly versatile. 👍🤪🏳️‍🌈

@NicTheRip that they can be. And when they have problems, the customer service is subpar, and everything is really expensive. They aren't derisively called ATMs for nothing, lol

@@lovelessissimo no way thats sad! Harley Davidson seems to be the same way sadly here in the uk
Dont understand why it seems to be the "premium" brands that seem to slip on the customer service side.

Looking forward to trying the machine out at the very least!

I couldn’t agree more about too much power. Now have v strom650 70bhp. It is good enough for me. Still can hustle on uk roads. In fact I had a duel, with a hayabusa on welsh windy roads. No,problem. Obvs on clear roads complete toast.

    • @NicTheRip
      @NicTheRip  6 місяців тому

      Spot on!
Its so hard to use the power of the mt10 without feeling disappointed that you couldnt use more. Its just too mental to have legal fun with the bike haha
If you rag it in second gear you will be over 100mph insane!!
I feel like lower power bikes tend to be more fun because you can just use more of the bike, leading to a more engaging experience.
Dont get me wrong, it is an absolute blast to twist the throttle and be going light speed but i think the MT09 would be more fun on the road.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate appreciate your comment!

I have a video on the BMW GS! If you have the time give it a watch :)
I also rode the Africa twin earlier this year, great bike!
Harleys are so special Im not going to lie - you feel like a badass riding one, and you cant beat the sound! However the GS is definitely a better bike haha
I really do urge you to test ride both before buying though, I will never buy a bike without test riding again haha.

Comparing a Harley to an mt10 is like comparing chalk & cheese.
    Theyre different tools !
Harley is a cruiser, American heritage, sound , feel , looks, feel, street cred etc.
You won't get anyone taking a second glance at you on an mt10 🤷😉
    ( ps i own both )

And you are very right about the harleys road presence and just badass being haha.
Every time i here my bike start I think how could I move away from something like this 🤣

the difference will be like a farm tractor and a Ferrari or sun-dial and a Swiss watch, no one would buy a Harley Davidson if it didn't have HD on the tank, let's say it said made in China instead they wouldn't sell a single bike, not one, why would anyone waste that sort of money on a bike with an engine best suited to run air compressors or water pumps bolted into an out of date frame and I riding position best suited to only riding for 15 minutes at a time, the Yamaha will seem like a spacecraft running on magic space crystal dust to him after enduring that heap of overpriced garbage he owns, IMO, tell me I'm wrong but I know I'm right. . and how much was that Harley, heheheh

    • @NicTheRip
      @NicTheRip  6 місяців тому +2

Well yeah the yamaha, or pretty much any modern bike will be more technology advanced.
The modern harleys are really well refined, run very smooth for what had such a large motor. The m8 is a beautiful vtwin
Biggest thing is the way harleys sound and make you feel when riding them. Its not a messurable thing, you either hate it, or you love it.
Cant really say if they are worth it, thats down to personal choice and financial position. I personally do think they are premium machines, i have riden metric cruisers and owned a honda shadow and its just not the same.
HD is around the same price as an Indian, BMW, cruisers just tend to be expensive
There is something undeniably special about harleys that I havent felt on any other bike.
But thats the beauty, theres something for everyone. If you dont like harleys there plenty of other bikes and brands
      Thanks for the comment :)
      Keep well :)
