best video on the new xtr hands down. do a followup video with some nuts and bolts of different sizes. even without a torque wrench you might be able to find the max size bolt either machine can snap. possibly explain the compromises made to eliminate the hall effect feedback. thanks for sharing all your creative ideas!
I have the old one and bought the new one out of curiosity. After one day, I returned the XTR. The difference in removing lug nuts at 110 Ft lbs is about 1 second, per lugnut.
That brushless motor and the hammer mechanism are both huuuge! Wow that is cool! The use of pins with rubber bumpers rather than a typical clamshell design is really interesting. I wonder if other big name brands will copy that. Reminds me of how guns are typically held together more with pins than just screws.
I bought the older model for a great price and I’m satisfied. I only work on my cars when they need it, so for me it’s perfect. Why upgrade if your current one is working!
Look at the size difference in the support bearings - definitely stronger than the Milwaukee 2767-20 (avoid SN's beginning with H96B). I have the XTR model, part of the kit with the 1/4" impact driver and light, and I love it as even the impact driver will take off lug nuts with ease. I only wish they'd created a XTR version of the right angle impact wrench as the regular version is too weak. It forced me to go back to Milwaukee for theirs but I'm hoping for more XTR tools in the future.
I have the original Kobalt 3/8" right angle impact and I love it. An XTR right angle impact would be sick! I'd settle if they came out with a "Next-Gen" right angle impact with a more powerful motor, more torque control and an optional 1/2" anvil.
That new Kobalt XTR impact wrench looks a lot like the Makita High torque impact wrench sold at Home depot. I wonder if Makita is building this impacts for Lowes?
My boss has the m18 and it is a beast in the field and just dominates others completely. Bigger batteries make it weigh more though. Im probably gonna go with the kobalt.
It would be interesting to know the weight difference of the anvil (old vs new). I own the older model, no complaints here. I knew someone would complain about that tree... lol I do have one minor complaint, why use a dewalt drill to install that screw on a kobalt tool? Sacrilege! lol Thank you for creating great content and a honest review.

I've got the kobalt XTR half inch and the quarter inch and they're absolutely awesome and the half inch is just as powerful as my Milwaukee 1400ft lb
You sir are an expert reviewer. Others should aspire to be like you. 🤘
Love all the teardowns. Seems like chervon did their homework and designed a meaningful upgrade, I really like their design on this one!
The new model is better by far. Definitely something to get if you don’t already have a big impact.
Great Review !! Best Quote “this build like a Tank”
Nice review. The 1st Gen meets my needs. It sure looks like Kobalt is stepping up their game though.
Quality and funny video bro 😂. Best video on the XTR, keep it up!🤙
You do a very good job on the tear down of the tools. Good job. I will watch more of your videos.

Not worth the additional cost huh? That first gen high torque is still a beast for removing lug nuts and suspension fasteners!
Great video,u have lot's of knowledge in this area.I enjoy your sense of humor.
Great Vid, breakdown was very helpful
Thank you for posting the intel on these products. It’s been very informative. 👍

I wish I had waited. But the old one is still very powerful.
I bought this thing for 199 and a drill chuck adapter for 8.99....
I picked up the dewalt xr 1/2 for only $199. It's nicer then the kobalt

True. The older model is still a beast.

U R an awesome dude!
Great video. Thanks
Where can I get an internal part. I need the internal plastic component for trigger forward and reverse. Thx
LOL good stuff. I need to get one of these and retire my air impact.
I have the original Ingersoll and still won't retire my air. In fact I'm investing more heavily into it.
awesome vid!

I bought the new one and sold the old model had to have the extra power and I have the compact one for lightness
Underrated channel 😂😂😂 Earned my sub
Lol, good stuff!
Subscribed!
I have a Ingersoll Rand w5152 can I install a more powerful ,and modern motor in it?
That new Kobalt XTR impact wrench looks a lot like the Makita High torque impact wrench sold at Home depot. I wonder if Makita is building this impacts for Lowes?
I think FLEX and Kobalt are under the same company.
Great video
Great review
It looks identical to the Makita High torque impact wrench from 4-5 yrs ago
this or m18 fuel for taking tires off all day?
I'm stuck between the two also
This! :D

"if you're left handed...too bad."
😂
Word has it he never put it back together 😂
Unfortunately, he did in the next video.
The new model is 1 inch heavier
and 1 lbs shorter than the old model. :D
Make sure your batwwery is full charge before use
Now that sounds like a project a m4 ar15 on a 24v system. Ya no round required.🤔✌️👌👍😉😁
Why you do that to the coconut tree
Nice
I like your sense of humor ,but I bet your wife thinks you are silly
Your old one looks like it's never been used.
I heard your tree screaming 😣
Poor tree 🌳
It leaking...
👊
Now, play hunt the lug nut!
you know, the kobalt measuring tapes are not bad.
Sounds like a Chinese man from southern Alabama
Your comment also sounds like a white Alabama man would make on UA-cam 🤷♂️
