This demo is a real piece of art. It not only the best demo I have seen of the Meet Maude delay, It is also a tutorial on how to do a demo of any pedal. Thanks man. Using the Tensor in the fx loop sounds just marvelous. I tried it also with a Pladask Baklengs and I am in love with that sound now. Greetz
Outro jam throws me back into times we used to gather in our garage with my buddy exploring where can we sonically get into.. those were golden times of creativity
It also seems that the Tensor and the Meet Maude were made for oneanother. Already have a Tensor which I think is one of the coolest pedals out there, but this week I will have my hands on a meet maude too. Let’s see what other pedals I can connect to the meet maude fx loop.
Dude your intro jam was amazing! Would love a video on how you approach composition for your demos. Similar to the ones you've done on looping ambient guitar. Incredibly informative. Keep it up! 👽
Ah man, thanks so much, that means a lot! I don't know that I've thought much about doing a video like that, but I'd certainly consider it. My process is just fairly amorphous, and I approach things a bit differently every time, depending on the pedal. Probably tough to distill into a video but I think I'll chew on that idea for a bit.
The lofi haze was my fav sound you got with the tensor, I always heard about this pedal but never knew what it was. You’ve convinced I’ll need to get one someday
Subscribed right after watching this demo. I already own and know the pedal well (Even sometimes just guitar through shortest delay time on 100% wet) - But this was just a real well done demo! Now I gotta get Tensor as well though :D hehe
I use an OBNE Ramper w/ my Maude to switch back and forth between 'traditional' delay and a chorus/mod-y sound. One quirk about this pedal is that the Time knob is 'reversed' -- when you control both Time and Feedback with an expression input, you're moving between max feedback and min time, and min feedback and max time. I'd say that this is frustrating, but it's a fun quirk to mess around with.
Agreed, it definitely does not do quite what I expected with both time and feedback on expression. But, also agree it's an interesting quirk or even a cool challenge
hey thanks! This one isn't up yet (I'd follow on IG for updates, going to do another comp of demo tracks sometime later this year) but the rest of my stuff is up at driftingthing.bandcamp.com/album/start-somewhere-demos-2020-2021
Thanks man. I appreciate what you're doing. Not sure if you plan on doing something like this with the shallow water but it would be sick if you did. I just got one today at my localish music shop and I'm trying to figure it out tonight.
@@Justin-bm7zn right on, enjoy it! I guess there are plenty of demos out already, but I love Shallow Water and it's definitely on my list of things to demo sometime.
@@XxXHardcoreshredderxXXxxxxxxxx The Shallow Water takes the random modulation circuit from the Meet Maude and expands on it. But that’s where the likeness ends, as Maude is a delay pedal, while the Shallow Water uses a low pass gate and filters your tone in a tape-like manner. You can absolutely coax similar sounds out of both, but the Maude is MUCH darker and you won’t get any repeats out of the Shallow Water. It’s more of a real-time warbly tape effect - Maude is an analog delay.
Great video and playing! I'm curious how much white noise/hiss this delay adds, as I find many analog delays add some noticeable background noise. This one sounds excellent.
Thank you! Haven't noticed any unruly noise or anything when not playing. BBD delays in general can be noisy but I suspect MM just has so much filtering going on that it cuts most of that out, hence the dark, murky sound. Even so, it's really not your typical pristine-sounding analog delay by design lol
What were you playing during the EAE Limelight section 11:19? It sounds so familiar. That alone is convincing me to pick up both pedals, gorgeous demo!
Thanks! Haha that part wasn't meant to be anything in particular, just an idea I noodle around all the time but I'm sure there's a ton of other stuff that sounds similar to it.
Hey what amp is this run through, also what type of amp would you recommend that can take pedals such as this and the limelight, total noob here. Thanks for the videos and I love the title fight Easter egg!!!
thanks for watching! This is all through my Milkman The Amp 100. I use a Marshall Origin 50 combo in most of my other stuff and both take pedals really well. The Milkman is much cleaner though, and in general that's something people tend to look for with a "pedal platform" amp. Depends what kind of sound you're after though!
thanks! For this one I used The Amp 100 from Milkman Sound, going direct to interface with its onboard cab sim. My main amp is a Marshall Origin 50 which I record with a Two Notes Torpedo Captor X and the Wall of Sound plugin for cabs.
As cool as this delay may be it is 500 Australian dollars new,and around 400 used[ these so called boutique pedals"hold" thei value] . With this amount of money you can get a Seymour Duncan vapor trail analogue delay[ with an fx loop] and a zvex lo fi junkie or a wmd super Fatman filter to place in the fx loop and get all this and more. That goes for Randy's revenge as well which cool as it may be [ better as a tremolo than ring mod in my opinion] ,i find too expensive [ unfortunately very few alternatives in analogue ring modulation but the frequency analyzer by ehx is amazing]

100% the best demo of Meet Maude ever made. Great work, buddy! You're constantly crushing it.
Aww man, stop it 😭 haha thanks so much, it means a lot as always!
One of the best takes on Maude to date! 👏
Thanks man! There are some truly great ones out there so that means a lot
Outro jam throws me back into times we used to gather in our garage with my buddy exploring where can we sonically get into.. those were golden times of creativity
Man that sounds killer. I want all the Fairfields.
Duuuude same, every one I've played has been seriously fantastic
This is my favorite pedal demo ever, its fun to watch and an absolute delight to listen to, ambient trash nailing it again.
Aw thanks so much, that really means a lot!

Moody as hell my man (regarding the intro jam). Also, you played "Safe In Your Skin!" *Chef's Kiss!
Haha thanks homie! And glad some folks knew the riff, I do like to sneak some old favs in on occasion 🤠

ohhh man, Tensor is so wild and so fun. You'd dig it!
This pedal on really short (slapback) delay times reminds me a lot of sounds I get from the Rainbow Machine, which I love and use all the time.
Love this so much

Great review of a very unique delay pedal 👍👍👏👏
This is awesome ! ❤️
thx Anne! 😊
Dude man...I keep coming back to re-listen to the intro. It's too good. Do you have a bandcamp or somewhere you upload tracks?

GAS !
so dang good.
Well. You just sold me on one of these. Despite the fact I have a Shallow Water.
Does shallow water do some similar stuff?

3:00
Finally a demo showing max time with darkest tone. This thing is a dark beast. Wish it went up to 700ms, but still a super rad delay. Great demo.
thank you, glad I could cover that for ya! It has such a cool voicing, so unique next to other analog contemporaries
What’s that slider? Brand? Seems interesting.
Expression Slider from Old Blood Noise 👍🏻
The Title Fight riff ❤️
TF forever 💙
at 12:10 what are u running? maude alone into amp?
Might have a touch of reverb from the Amp 100, can't remember but otherwise yup, just Maude into the amp

All good, it's a very specific kind of sound and there's plenty out there at all price points if you don't need exactly what it does
@ambienttrash I wasn't criticizing either you or fairfield circuitry. Just pointing out something for others suffering from eternal gas
Awesome. Although, some of these sounds make me just a little uneasy feeling. Then again, I think it's supposed to.
Intro song ?
It's original, got a Spotify link in the description and it's on my third demo track compilation!
title fight
👍🏿🤘
I'm gonna modify mine to extend the max time to 700ms.
Did you modify it? What are the results?
