I love it that this movie reminds us that Bond was once married and even in Licence To Kill when Felix tells his wife “He was married once, but it was a long time ago” to make it clear that we’re still watching the same character from the classic era of Bond movies.
A friends dad worked as an aviation mechanic at an international airport and one day he noticed a bunch of the passengers staring at him and his colleague as he finished up looking at a turbine component. As the blades were spinning up and the plane was starting to taxi, he gave them the sign of the cross and did a quaint, little 90 degree *Buh-bye!* gesture with his hand. Needless to say, a bunch of them proceeded to freak the hell out and demanding the plane be stopped. All the ground crew caught shit for it but, no one told on him because it was funny as hell. 🤣
Although it is not my favorite, it has some features i really like. The main things i really like about this bond: the opening scene with the graveyard and the helicopter chase and you can see he still thinks about his late wife, A cool silent villain called Emile Leopold Locque and ofcouse one of my favorite bond soundtracks: Sheena Easton - For your Eyes only.
Did you expect him to? Even well after the events of OHMSS he doesn't even like discussing it. TSWLM, Amasova tried mentioning Tracy, Bond cut her off quick. TWINE, Electra King asked Bond if he lost someone who got close, he very reluctantly said yes. I think its safe to say Tracy will be with Bond till the day he dies.
I thought the pilot was motioning for Bond to "buckle up". If you watch close, it appears he looks back at Bond who nods in understanding as he is fastening his seat belt. Am I right?
Such a wrong scene. It should be George Lazenby's Bond that is carrying the flowers to the grave. Moore's bond could still be there with the same lines he has. Either that or the writers should have had Moore's character saying something indicating that Lazenby's character had died and that is why Moore is taking the flowers to the grave. Lazenby did such an good job in OHMSS, especially in the last scene that he alone deserves to be the one that had a wife who died. As for any references to her in other movies making it appear that she was married to the current James Bond in that movie, well that needs to be fixed.
To be fair, Moore represents Bond about 12-15 years older than how we saw him at the end OHMSS and MI6 missions and the pain of her loss and others take their toll on a man aging him further. This scene still works even though Roger Moore is doing it as continuity wise per Danjaq/Eon Productions, Bond is the same man character-wise and chronologically-wise we saw from Dr. No. through Die Another Day. Connery and Lazenby represent Bond ages 25-30. Moore, Bond at 30-45. Dalton and Brosnan Bond at ages 45-55. Facial structure wise, Connery through Brosnan is similar. Changes in face could be explained by aging, extreme stress, bad diet and living in general. I'm sure MI6 life will rapidly age and make one unrecognizable as the years go on. Drug use can turn one's appearance radically. Bond's been tortured, drugged, used drugs on missions that require it, etc. over the years. Taking all that into account, this scene still works and the previous and subsequent mentions of Tracy since OHMSS work too. No need to fix it.

I can't believe sir Roger Moore died 😢 he was an amazing actor
Alec Trevelyan: Found forgiveness in the arms of all those willing women for the dead ones you failed to protect?
He never forgot Tracy.
Loved that bit with the sign of the cross...

Don't forget Leiter telling his wife-to-be that Bond was once married in License to Kill
RIP Diana Rigg
Bond finally got his revenge against Blofeld!!
Locque was a class villain, who was arguably Bond's most cold blooded kill.
the 'code name' theory debunked, in one scene! ;)
Yes, and it doesn't make sense.
There is always the possibly of James getting married again someday and leaving the MI6 as a result. He can't go on saving the world forever.
I have visited this churchyard.
yes
I forgot Licence to Kill, Felix's wife threw Bond the garter and he said no to marriage and Felix told her why.
Sorry, but anyone gonna tell me why it says that this movie is Force 10 From Navarone in the description
The Priest kinda looks like Gerald Ford.
No. She and Vesper were the only women Bond ever truly loved.
Hi Really cool Thank you UA-cam, Babe Woman stuff
Was the priest "in" on it? Or was he just doing the sign of the cross as it is what a priest would do?
I know right? Makes you wonder...I would like to think it was just a great screenwriting and/or directorial choice.
they should do the same storyline for daniel craig
It's totally a signal. Did you see the helicopter pilot do a hand signal to the priest before the priest made that sign of the cross?
