This is DEFINITELY the best Bond Chase Scene Ever- it has the epic 80's awesome music, but what's really cool is the skiing & stunts were clearly all done by stuntmen & live- No CGI crap. Except for campy Roger Moore super-imposed parts! I still feel young watching this.
Yes, this soundtrack is dated.
And it kicks ASS.
That it does, my friend. That it does.
I always thought the background music from this scene was awesome!
Monkay Banannas same
Composed by the one and only Bill Conti, who also composed the music for the "Rocky" series.
They should bring it back just for reference in a new Bond film
The unprecedented ski performance ever done by himself in the entire series.
*The Fast and the Furious* movies wish they had chase scenes this ridiculously awesome.
This is an amazing scene. The best one and more reallistic in a BOND film. And the music is brilliant.
Top 5 Moore scene. Runaway is a fantastic track and the stunts excel
The score Screams 80s, and I love it so much. And I've always gotten a laugh out of Kriegler not giving up, and just throwing his bike at Bond at the end
Best 007 Movie Chase Ever!
VanDammedia The Car chase in this movie is just as good
Yeah, not Bulgarian at all, but.....
THE GREATEST MOMENT IN ALL BOND-DOM!
NO doubt in my mind. I love this movie, and this scene in particular, so GODDAMN much! The perfect combination of genuine action and good-natured camp. With a super-entertaining Bill Conti score to boot. Bravo, For Your Eyes Only! You even beat out Casino Royale's Parkour for pure enjoyablefulness.
Always love this scene (and the music also). The skiing sequence looks like fun but the roof landing from the barn doesn't, surprised the guy didn't break his legs.
This is the most epic Bond chase scene ever dude!!!!
Best chase scene! Can't get enough of it! Thanks for posting.
+Mark V ,Nothing currently out there can match this without use of C.G. Brilliant!
This is one of the epicest James Bond Ski Chase Ever!
RIP Roger Moore
May 23 2017 he died if I recall
epic music and chase . it's just on point . brilliantly directed.
That was John Glen the master editor before becoming a director
For some reason, I like the shot seen at 1:16 when Bond skis over the camera. It looks cool.
EPIC CHASE!!!
3:58 lol that chicken on the right is looking at him like "Nigga you got yo ass whipped. You crazy."
definitely the best bond chase ever, real stunts done by real stunt men. it's a little known fact though that a stuntman died filming the toboggan chase bit
+Craig Barlow Yes. Very sad.
Epic Chase from the movies
Always wanted the newer Bonds to play this in James car or something like a *wink wink* to this chase lol
best scene ever! and the best movie!
Great!
Far better than all that boring Daniel Craig junk (and no CGI either)
Because special effects are far better in this scene? It's laughable xD
Ben Claes
What's laughable......The fact that you think FX make or break a movie?
Yeah, sure some of the 'back projection' stuff shows it's age. But I'm talking about the sequence as a whole (the editing, music, camera angles, REAL stunts, etc) Nowadays stuff like this would be CGI'd to death (and not just the stunt work either) Whereas back in 1981, stuntmen had to risk their necks (in countless takes) to produce stuff like this.....Just so *YOU* can spout garbage like "It's Laughable"
This is why BOND movies are so boring nowadays.....no character (and I guess they're made for a likewise audience)
I'm guessing you're about 12 years old....to critique anything in accordance to their respective special FX? Congratulations, *YOU* and your demographic are slowly killing cinema.
Ben Claes
What special effects are you talking about? I count 4 noticeable background projection shots, common to the era. You're the type of goof who points out the background projection shot in Pulp Fiction as if it were indicative of the film's quality. Everything else in this sequence is a little thing called reality, something you don't really see in action movies any more.
If you're talking about the gun shot squibs in the snow, or the sound mixing, foley, editing, then you're just lost. Take it from someone who's worked in film, there's literally nothing laughable about this sequence or its effects. It's 99.9% real, minus the sound that's done in post.
Nevermind, I give up, you're right, let's just watch a cartoon that was once a blue screen, in the guise of reality. Are you the guy who says the Star Wars prequels and their effects are better than the originals? I imagine, yes. Pipe down child, you're laughable.
Epic 80's music
You've got Bill Conti from Rocky to thank for that.

Even though 'OHMSS' had set the standard for ski/snow action set pieces, they still managed to make this chase distinctive and very exciting. Thanks for posting. Does anyone know if the harbour/warehouse battle from this film is on UA-cam. When I saw 'FYEO' in the cinema in 1981 I had no idea that the harbour front explosion was done with a miniature. The pyrotechnics were that impressive.
OHMSS is probably my favorite Bond film of them all, but it wins on atmosphere and emotion. Not on action, like this highlight of FYEO. The ski chase is pretty good, but FYEO's is world-class, even today, and easily leaves it, and all other Bond action scenes, in the dust.
As for the miniatures, just assume EVERYTHING was a miniature. The Bond series did minatures better than anyone. The helicopter flying into the building at the start of FYEO, the bridge at the end of The Living Daylights, the helicopter descending into the cult's weird hanger base in License to Kill. All miniatures. Nobody did it better. Nobody.
Daniel Craig should watch this ;P
the music starts at 0:45
Great chase, music as appropriate as a bicycle for a fish though.....
best chase scene
0:17 Charles Dance
Brady Kaynee Lord Tywin Lannister himself.
Great audio
“Ah Mr Franks. Who is your floor?”
@@PHDiaz-vv7yo You know your Bond movie's 👍
WTF? Nothing bulgarian here! The ski chase was shot near cortina, ITALY!!!
Good point
Of course....cortina d ampezzo!!!!
@@trifonpassalis8887 The snow this year is better at Innsbruck.
@@splatbubble but better in San Moritz
@@PHDiaz-vv7yo I thought it was "not" at San Moritz but you get a billion points for the crux of the quote plus you have the best avatar EVERRRRRRRRRR :) :)
how does he get out of these situation.fast thinking.he used that first skier as a shield between him & the gunman.then the slope jump over his head covered him until he went over him.then the rest was thinking fast on his feet making sure he did not screw himself over with a bad decision.twice he almost botched coming off the table & an unplanned direction with the bob sled race track.but he did botch off the building into the wood pile & the bad guy botched screwing his rifle up.in other words...this was a panic run lol & i loved it.
It wasn't shot in Bulgaria but in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy
What is the name of that song? It sounds pretty good.
Runaway - Bill Conti ( for your eyes only)
How does 007 always find his way out of a situaton like this?
One thing needed a dinosaur dc how it's in I just want one there XD
wtf this is Cortina d'Ampezzo (ITALY), not Bulgaria or whatever
Music?
Erik Souza ua-cam.com/video/ax5scn5KhOY/v-deo.html
I laughed
the poor music takes away any tension.
This is the worst soundtrack for a Bond movie ever .
