Sir Roger Moore - class, grace, gorgeous- the best of British. Any naysayers or begrudgers are just negative, possibly envious people. Sir Roger Moore, you might have checked out but you're still esteemed and you're missed. But never forgotten. RIP
I agree. Moore seemed like a class act on and off the screen. He was distinguished and had the classic dapper image that you expected in a 007 movie. Naturally, Sean Connery was great too, but Moore brought his own style to the series, and it worked, I thought. Off screen, Moore seemed outspoken about people who hunted animals for trophies. He saw it as cowardly and disgusting. It was one of his admirable traits. Anyone who respects animals has my respects as well.
The best of the Moore Bond films and one of the best in the entire series. Moore's performance, Carole Bouquet (to this day, the most beautiful of all the Bond girls), the other excellent supporting characters, the no-nonsense story line, the scenery, and the outstanding score place it in the top tier of Bond films. As for this scene - out of the 6 actors to play Bond, Moore was the only one who could have pulled it off as perfectly.
Dr King Schultz Bullshit. You’re by far a klutz. I hate to imagine what *you* think was the best. If you think this was poor in comparison to “Golden Gun”, “Moonraker” and Moore’s last two.
@@LOSTEpisodesForFree To each their own. But this particular Bond film is considered to be one of Moore's bests. And I can see why. The story is good and humanizing (Bond feeling sorry for Melina and understanding her feelings), Melina's revenge, the underwater scenes, the manipulation and betrayal of Cristoses (spelling?) by tricking Bond into planning to kill the man who's his personal enemy when he himself was the real villain (not unlike the later film, The Living Daylights where Koskov tried to pin Pushkin as the bad guy), and the ski sequence was incredible!
I love it when the light bulb comes on. Such a beautiful & romantic scene. My favorite James Bond movie of all time. Made me want to go scuba diving, skiing, & mountain climbing.
One of the more romantic Bond films where he didn't just "love - and - leave" the girl, but actually spend some time with her. Just LOVE the Lotus Esprit!
As a 50 year old irish guy, he was MY Bond growing up, and my role model, he could have wore a bin bag and still look classy, he was after all a male model which is probably why his posture was so perfect, aswell as my role model he was my style inspiration and as a teenager during the 80s, style was everything
I really think that Bond had deep feelings for Melina, more than most of the other Bond girls. He spoke calmly, he was comforting, he was protective and he seemed to care for her a fair bit. This is a touching scene, one of my favourite. x
My favorite Bond movie (For Your Eyes Only) AND one of my favorite scenes...the balcony scene in Korfu at the Achillion Palace. Fantastic!! Thanks piano77man77!!
die Szene geht mir extrem unter die Haut, ich kann gar nicht genug bekommen, das ist so was speziell schönes, das ist unglaublich. In Momenten wo ich traurig bin schau ich das an, und es hilft mir wieder das schöne Leben zu sehen.
Of all the Bond films there is something about this movie that is lacking in all the others. It is warmth, sophistication,'civilised,'(?) slow but unrelenting in falling into place. The woman is pure beauty and brains.
I believe that they were supposed to replace Roger Moore for this one, so they got rid of the gadgets and the stunts. They also didn’t bring Jaws into this picture.
This was one of my favorite 007 movies with Roger Moore and one of my favorites in the series. It also has one of the best opening tracks to date. I loved the scenery in this, and the characters were awesome. I can't believe this movie is 42 years old already. It's scary how time escapes you. Great memories.
This is what's been missing from the Brosnan and Craig eras, Bond with a little down time. That's when we get to see more dimension to the character. Nowadays, it's just nonstop chasing, fighting, and f-ing.
Andrew Salvatore Romo it’s the instrumental version of Four Your Eyes Only song was by Sheena Easton. Instrumental music was done by Bill Conti who composed the Rocky theme in the Rocky series.
Question about the direction of this scene: what is supposed to be conveyed by filming the scene so far away from the characters and emphasizing the scenery? To give it a sense of what Melina's life was like when she was younger (traveling all over)?
Eyo I reckon it's to give the characters a sense of privacy from the viewer which heightens our sense of their intimacy, while the film still gives us a connection to them through the caring dialogue. The scenery and music emphasises the romance that's lighting up like the lamp in the previous shot. Yamas
@@angelcastaneda529 no. He still had so many more great moments to enjoy and stories to share. When you are That valuable you should be here significantly longer
But he was sick with cancer, his family said so when they announced his passing. I understand that it’s hard to believe that he’s gone but 89 years old is quite a remarkable life and trust me Roger lived life to the fullest.

The world was so beautiful, cool, and people are very happy in 1981, now so hot, the seas and rivers are so polluted dirty and Pandemic everywhere.

Good point. This was a classic film. Loved it too since I grew up around that time. I'm 51.
Roger Moore’s Bond does that with most of his girlfriends, as does Timothy Dalton, which makes both iterations of the character more likable.
Been to many of these locations in Corfu, Greece. Amazing place !!
Any other spots you recommend visiting in the area?
Athens the city of Greece
I really like the older bond movies, not about violence, just fun to watch. Real entertainment.
One of my favourite scenes in the film. Melina just cracks and opens up to Bond
IT'S A LEGENDARY MOVIE!!! BUT THE SOUNDTRACK IS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!
Yes, this scene is pure class and a good example of Moore unbeatable style (sadly, lot of people can't see it and underrate him).

Beautiful location, wonderfully filmed, love the music!
A beautiful scene from a beautiful movie. The girl is alluring and Roger looks like the pure class that he is.

@@johnchurch4705 I have the book also, yes that's true BUT when your an ordinary cinema-goer common sense prevails
I disagree totally.
Moore did a good job in this film but I think Dalton taking over at the start of the 80's would have been ideal.
You’re confusing this with “Octopussy” and “A View to a Kill”. *There*, he looked too old. This should have been his last.
Moore was too old even in this movie! This scene looked more like father and daughter rather than Bond and the hot woman!
