- This is my next time rescoring process for the unofficial Bond film Never Say Never Again starring the original James Bond, Sean Connery. I have re-edited the motorcycle chase/Death of Fatima Blush scenes of the film with the music of Don Veca, John Barry and David Arnold.

Barbara Carrera is brilliant as the psychotic Fatima Blush! Remarkably, she was supposed to be the female lead in the other Bond film to be released (in the same year as this), Octopussy, but the lure of starring alongside the legendary Sean Connery made her choose to star in this film. She also said some years ago she was very nervous when filming her scenes and that Connery had been very helpful and encouraging & she never forgot his kindness to her on-set.

Someone needs to make a fan-edit of Never Say Never Again with the John Barry Score throughout and the gunbarrel sequence inserted at the start. I guarantee you the film plays at least 30% better.

Great movie...It's up there with the best Bond movies...
My only regrets are he didn't make a second one...and for legal reasons they couldn't use the gunbarrel or the classic music...so thanks for doing it here :)

its not a great movie is the problem, the original screenplay had mechanical sharks and a lair underneath the State of Liberty.

@@ps123fan Fleming wrote in one of his books that the 00 section's retirement age was 40 - however this would rule out not only NSNA but also Diamonds Are Forever, all the Moore, Dalton and Brosnan films, and all the Craig films except Casino Royale!

“Never Say Never Again” was a great Bond film but some characters could had been better casted.
The woman Bond meets on the fishing boat, in the Bahamas, could had been a great cameo for Ursula Andress, talking with her own voice instead of the dubbing they did on her for “Dr. No”, and even though it probably would had been impossible, I would had liked to had seen Jack Lord return as Felix Leiter and Trevor Howard as “M”.
The main theme, at the end credits, was phenomenal with Lani Hall, Sergio Mendez and Herb Alpert on the trumpet.
Ursula Andress was too old by then.

In my point of view NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN was much better than OCTOPUSSY which came out the same year (1983) BTW very good music restore

Definitely a nice take on the bike chase! John Barry and David Arnold are definitely big inspiration's for my work and this is why, sadly the actual movies score wasn't to good or bondian even.

Thanks for this footage. I used it in my 2023 40th Anniversary Re-cut of "Never Say Never Again." Although not all of it. I changed the music and had to re-do the footsteps. (Admittedly, that's probably the worst part of my re-cut, as I have overlapping footsteps. I did my best to make the whole film better though and I believe I succeeded. Much better, Legrand was trying to take a Henry Mancini approach to the score, and while Henry was a great composer there was a reason Broccoli never hired him, not his kind of movie. Since Michael G. Wilson pretty much owns this movie now, he ought to commission something like this, bring the movie more in line with the rest of the family..

Ya never know being the mentally/physically stronger/tougher version of Fiona Volpe looks like Fatima Blush is probably physically strong 💪 enough/physically tough enough 2 endure/survive/withstand being hit in the back/chest/on the sides by more than 8 pistol rounds (bullets) from Bond's Walther P5 without wearing bulletproof/bullet resistant armor vest since she cackled at him when he was about 2 shoot her with it!

A great insight into what might have been. NSNA had the makings of a great Bond film, if only it had been completely rescored. The sound and music editors should all have been sacked. An atrocious act of sabotage. I don't know why the producers stood for it, even with all the well-documented chaos around the film. Anyone with half a brain could have realised that an entire re-dub was necessary.

The proper music makes a night and day difference in the experience. Examples, the fifth element, dances with wolves, oblivion, John carter, Batman 89 and many more. This is an extremely poorly known key element in cinema.

and you would achieve God like status with James Bond fans all over the world!
This is a perfect example of a movie that was just completely destroyed by it's score.
The exact wrong music was used at just about every moment in the original film- which crashed every scene.
I bet if you put in a brand new score - it really would not be that bad a finale for Sean Connery's James Bond!

Quite fitting! Michel Legrands score for NSNA wasn't really exciting
I agree! Legrand’s score wasn’t really exciting and didn’t feel very Bondian, however the Tango music and the instrumental version of the title theme was the only greatest part of the soundtrack. The next part that I was going to rescore was the horse chase sequence with either Barry, Arnold or some other composer helming the sequence.
Agreed. It wasn't all bad. So I didn't cut all of Legrand's music in my re-cut. The problem with 'Never Say Never Again' was twofold, no Bond music and it was a bit, well flash and lacked that certain Bond style. I always felt that as Eon now own the film. If they re-scored it with John Barry music they could put it out on DVD. There is no filming to be done. Depends if the original sound tracks are still around. Then it's just new mixing sessions. I've always thought it would pay, but I think Eon would just rather forget it ever existed.

When Bond is finally trapped by the enemy and shunted into the van the music needs to pause or at least change pace. After Fatima's death is all over the music still keeps building up tension. Generally throughout there is too much music. More isn't always more.

ヤマハXJ650turboを原型が分からないくらい改造されている。ジャンプシーンなどアクションが多いのでオリジナルでは無理だったのだろうね。オリジナルはシャフトドライブだし、スポーツツアラーだしね。コレだったらXT500を使ったほうがいいくらい。
Ya also never really know but in the drive thru tunnel of this scene Bond takes the underlings Beretta 93R as he's clearly/obviously going 2 shoot her in the chest with it Fatima Blush without bulletproof/bullet resistant armor vest is in a way like you'll never have enough bullets 2 kill me Mister Bond/I'm far 2 strong 💪/tough 😤 4 my underlings bullets Mister Bond no matter how many/much of them ya empty in2 my chest he shoots her burst fire mode using up most of the bullets then single shot mode multiple/several times in the chest with that same Beretta 93R she cackles like a hyena & continues cackling after/when getting hit in the chest by every round/more than every round from her underlings Beretta 93R hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
