    Great video! Got your very own parrot DWX. Wish there was a bigger after market for parts, kinda a cult thing witch makes them even cooler keep showing us video updates on it!

      @@ACxREAL stock. I did have to replace my safety with factory OEM safety set and safety plunger with a Wilson Combat though. Also, the safety is extremely gritty and nigh impossible to set to “safe”. I mean, if worse comes to worst, I’ll take it to a smith, but I like to DIY stuff.

    • @ACxREAL
      @ACxREAL  2 місяці тому +1

      @@NateBedair the stock spring and plunger are 1-1/8” long if check and see how close the Wilson parts are. You only need the spring and the rear plunger. Also if it’s all new safety parts you very likely will need to file some material off the safety and fit it to your ignition parts. I don’t have a video of that but it would be the same as with a 1911. The fact that it won’t go on safe would make me believe that is the issue. I watched a good video on it a while back I’ll see if I can find the link.

    • @ACxREAL

      Floyd’s custom magwell and the grips are the short for magwell lok grips. They come like that from Lok. Thanks for watching!

    Did you drill that mag release button? Is there an available after market extended mag release/catch for the DWX?

    • @ACxREAL
      @ACxREAL  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes I just drilled it myself. I do work at a metal fabrication business so I could have taken it to work and used a milling machine. In this case I had an extended release button for a Canik Rival that was about the size I would want. I drilled and then hand tapped a single hole in the center and then hand filed the Canik release to sit flat. I know the DWX is a small market but I’d love to see some aftermarket for small parts. Mag release, safeties etc.

    Thanks a ton for this video! I want to swap my mag release to the other side as I'm a left-handed shooter. Can I do so without taking it all apart like you did?

    • @ACxREAL
      @ACxREAL  Місяць тому +2

      Yes 100% small flat head screw driver. Stick it in on the right side. Slightly depress the mag release turn the screw roughly 1/4 turn. The mag release should come right out. Swap to the other side and reverse the process. It should be super quick and easy but it can be a little fiddly. Thanks for watching!

    do you like that grip and floyds magwell better than the lok setup?

    • @ACxREAL
      @ACxREAL  Місяць тому

      Yeah I do. I really wanted the lockjaw grips and of course they came out a few weeks after I bought the other ones. I have a pair of alum ones and then the cerakoted brass that is on this pistol. They are great but super aggressive so either folks need to build up their hands or pick something else. As for the Floyd’s I do like it a lot more. I don’t think it looks better or worse but it matches the inside of the grip frame much better and I can run any of the magazines I have regardless of the base pad I have installed. With the Lok magwell it only worked with the plus 3 length extensions.

    I bought an Atlas sear spring, do I have to cut the top tab off? will it work with the tab on?

    • @ACxREAL
      @ACxREAL  3 місяці тому

      Honestly not sure. I tried a few different sear springs and I snapped the tab just because that’s how the stock one was. I don’t see why you would have to snap it off. I personally would try it with the tab at least for some dry fire and if you don’t like it/ it doesn’t work then snap the tab off. I used some small pliers and the tab is snapped off easily

    You like it more than the rival S?

    • @ACxREAL
      @ACxREAL  27 днів тому

      @@calitovegas408 the DWX is a much more refined or finely crafted gun. The frame and slide machining and finish are nicer. The trigger after some work is slightly better. So overall I would say yes I like it more but I’m almost obligated to due to a bias and to justify the expense. Certainly if the DWX underperformed then I could say no but it’s a really nice shooting gun. Im not sure I’m any better because of one gun over another. That mostly comes with practice and experience. Ive also jumped from one platform to another about once per year. So just about the time I get comfortable with something i change. All that said I don’t think you can beat the Rival or the Rival S for return on investment. Those guns shoot awesome and looking at the top competitors that shoot them it doesn’t look like they are having any problems competing with any other platforms. If you slapped a Rival in my hand tomorrow I would not feel under gunned.

      @@ACxREAL Yeah I've loved my Rivals since I started shooting them. Got the S right when It came out and was shooting the poly before that. I wanted a DWX years ago and still toy with the idea but I worry ill be disappointed.

      @@calitovegas408 for sure it’s always nice if you can try before you buy but no matter what you’d want several matches to actually see if you like something or not. I don’t think most of the time the gun purchases isn’t some super rational thought process. More of a physiological game where you convince yourself you need or really want something because whatever reason you used to justify what you are doing. I’m pretty sure you would like the DWX if you like the S2. It feels pretty similar in the hand.

    Who makes those grips

    • @ACxREAL
      @ACxREAL  3 місяці тому

      Lok grips. lok jaw brass black cerakote is the specific type in this video. Very nice grips the aluminum ones are slightly sharper in my experience. Great traction probably not for casual shooters as they are very aggressive. If you shoot a lot and dry practice these will be awesome.
