Okay no but Auggie recognizing that Johnny is lonely and excitedly running to take his hand and include him, then proceed to validate him as his best friend for the rest of the day, made me almost burst into tears. The empathy kids possess is incredible.
i definitely sniffled a litte at that, lol, what a cool kid
The little hop Johnny did was so sweet you could tell he was genuinely touched❤
Okay, but like I really did shed a little tear because that was so sweet!!!
+
i almost started crying at that moment lol
i love this especially because watching auggie you just KNOW that in a typical preschool he would be seen as very “disruptive” but in this environment he’s a caring, energetic, empathetic kid who likes to teach and learn!
EXACTLY! In a regular school he would be "a problem child", but here he is a rockstar!
exactly! as an adhd kid seeing a kid like auggie thrive in this environment helped heal my inner child :)
(obviously not saying this kid has adhd, just that i have adhd and acted similarly to him as a kid)
@@jessicabowles8663 i 100% get you because i also have adhd lmao
THIS!! I have an autistic 5 year old son, I see so many similarities between him and Auggie. My son was always seen as the disruptive kid in class, but this year he got placed with a fantastic teacher. She encourages him to be his best self, and he's made astronomical progress this year. A good teacher can literally shape a child's future.
didn't even think of that, so fckn cool
I just listened to the episode of Jonny on YCSWU and Augie’s parents invited Jonny to his 5th birthday party 😭😭😭💛💛💛 how heckin pure is that.
OMG that is the sweetest thing ever😭😭 thank you for commenting here!!
Do you remember what episode of the podcast that is?

The small children gathering around a napping Kwesi like they're fascinated by an art exhibit was truly something
It’s the closest a lot of them have probably ever been to a black person…

the swarm of kids surrounding Kwesi when he pulled out his snack all asking "what are you eating??" WAS HILARIOUS
I love how legitimately intimidating a bunch of 4-year-olds can look when they get all loomy like that
That is why parents sneak snacks lol. Reminded me of the seagulls scene in Finding Nemo 🤣
I think that we will all agree that it is a freakin pleasure to have Kwesi and Jony on this channel !!!
With kiddos playin in the mud in the forest it is *chef kisses*
Lots of love on you guys
I work with kids and whenever I pull out a granola bar they all surround me
Kids are like tiny raptors when food is involved 😂
I love how Johnny and Kwesi are regular guests now, they have the best energy
Same. They’re my favourite honorary Try Guys (after Miles of course).
The guests lately have been so much fun!
I was SO happy when Jonny was shown in the video. He matches the energy of the others so well.
I love Johnny all much! I’m a simple girl, I see Johnny and I click.
Funny how in the last 6 months the video quality and entertainment factor of the Try Guy videos just skyrocketed. Wonder what happened that caused this? In the last 6 months, their videos just got soo much better.
I appreciate that she acknowledges that her program is not equitable because too often amazing childcare programs are not and the leaders refuse to acknowledge it.
Not only that but she’s trying her best to get funds to include kids from other demographics.
Yes! I love coming forward and saying what it is and the plan for change. I would also love to hear perspective on inclusion of special needs kiddos.
Honestly she seems like such a beautiful person and for her to be so aware and open and honest and looking for improvement is so amazing
“First you’ll arrive, and you’ll say goodbye to your grown-ups.”
I was expecting Rachel to pop up in front of the camera so the 3 of them can say goodbye to her
SAME
Missed opportunity!😂
Lol same here…
I know right.
Me too!!!
Stopping the vid to say THANK YOU to the director for admitting their tuition is high!!! Almost any other preschool director will justify their tuition and pursaude you why it’s worth it. The fact that she’s saying “it’s expensive and that limits the children who can come here” is incredible. Love love love this whole video 🥹
Exactly what I was thinking! So refreshing to see this kind of transparency :)
Came here to say the same thing! I really appreciated how blunt she was about the kinds of families who can afford this sort of education, and how unfair it is, and that she’s trying to do something about it
I 100% agree. We have a similar school in my area and I would have LOVED to send my kid there. Unfortunately the monthly cost was more than I made (working a full time and a part time job averaging 60-70 hours) in two months.
Yeah. She seems like a stand-up person offering an amazing service. ❤
i thought this would be so fun, but like the lady said its definitely a gentrifier thing. no way normal people in LA could afford this.
Augie is a born leader. The way he made sure Johnny was part of the group and how he directs everyone to look at the campbase was amazing. I think he helped Johnny over his kindergarten traumas haha. We all should be more like Augie
I typically don't like kids at all. But Augie was cool.
I hope augie keep the vine intil he grow up 🥰
@@vivienm2037 because hes no kid. hes a _leader_
Yeah, watching Johnny’s inner child trauma heal on screen was beautiful
Aw yeah he seems like a sweet kid, and he showed a lot of perceptiveness. I definitely think being in this open learning environment is nurturing him a lot! I feel like if I were that age again I would’ve loved to be his friend, he seems fun and very kind. He’s like the one kid in class who notices that you’re alone during lunch and asks if you want to play.
Johnny trying to seduce the Dads with cake talk at the end killed me. He's so funny. I'm so glad seeing him in another type of video on this channel.
Timestamp?
@@riano512718:43 basically the ending blurb of the video 😂
As a former feral child who spent all her free time in the woods making potions and foraging, I freaking love this concept. I hope this kind of learning is accessible to every child in the future. Kudos to the teachers of this school and the parents for allowing their kids to get their hands dirty!
Best kind of way to grow up.
I thought you'd appreciate to know that there's a free forest school all through the Americas! We even have some up here in Canada! They're free and families get to join whenever
UPDATE: Woke up alone. Still haven't found a single daddy.
This comment broke my heart. I’m currently on a search, as your personal yenta, to find you sweetest, hottest guy possible. You’re a sweetie cake and deserve nothing but goodness for the joy you bring to this world.
How happy the kids are is such a testament to how effective this is. The sunlight is SO good for us alone, there's so much research into the affects of even dirt and how it is like an antidepressant. These kids are gonna grow up to be good people. That makes me happy. I hope to God this catches on. The world would become such a better place over time.
omg thats so interesting esp about dirt, thank you for sharing!!!
Forest/nature school is not uncommon in other countries. It's absolutely so good for them for a plethora of reasons. The US just does school and learning all kinds of wrong.
I went to a Charter school similar to this in the US 🩷 literally the best memories and feelings from going there. Everyone deserves to know what it's like to be free to explore and connect with science and nature so deeply.
I wish I still lived near one. I did live near a boarding school that was on a farm and did many similar things to forestry school. Now I'm in a town that has a decent school but barely has options for outdoor activities. Thankfully I found a summer class that's forestry school.
Augie. The empathy and the awareness that someone needed a friend. 😭 I want Johnny and Augie to have a show.
Kwesi explaining his name and the little girl just staring at him completely dumbfounded, with her sunglasses in hand like a grown woman, was legitimately hilarious 😂😂
And Captain America on the side
@@rigby.walabeehaha yesss captin america was equally as confused
Her hand in her pocket too 😂
Omggg and the no high fives from either of those kiddos had me giggling out loud!!! :P Kwesi is so sweet, we must protect him at all cost.
Her little look to the camera was straight out of The Office 😂
Augie coming back to be Jonny's buddy was the plot development I needed.
ME TOO. One Hundo Percent!!
“Yes, they call me the Swimmer” immediately followed by “are there any dads here?” killed me. The scream I scrumt 😭

Scrumpt needs to replace screamed right now
The kid who went to get Johnny's hand when he noticed him standing all alone. I hope they never let the world stop them from being so full of love.
Augie yelling "LOOK AT ME!" about the flower in his hair just made my heart melt ❤
The fact that Kwesi, Zach, and Jonny had adorable, matching, bags just solidified it for me that this was the trio we didn't know we needed. Such a wholesome video!
agreed, the bags were perfection!
I love how Kwesi didn't even mention the nature in parks in NY. He said rats were their nature 😂😂
Especially when we have Central Park and Bryant Park 💀
Zach holding hands with that teeny tiny child was so sweet. They were walking at their pace, no one else's.
I would not complain if Jonny and Kwesi were in EVERY video. It's awesome seeing Jonny doing something that isn't food-related at all and just being a Try Guy. More of this please if possible!
Agreed
Petition to officially add Johnny and Kwesi to the try guys
Yes yes yes- they both have that natural energetic and entertaining personality on camera and I can’t get enough!!!!!!
Rachel quietly parenting from behind the camera is so funny. I just know she was explaining how to interact with kids the whole time.
I loved her disbelief at how many snacks kwesi brought 😂
@@peacechickification”and some carrots..and a good book!” lmao loved that part
As a Ghanaian, I loved hearing Kwesi talk about his name!! This whole video is just pure happiness
As a Norwegian this is so weird to me. This is how all Norwegian preschoolers are taught, at least for the most part, and it should be like this everywhere in my opinion. Though of course, I understand how that might not always be possible everywhere. I am glad that these LA cuties get to experience such a fun way of learning and developing their skills though!
What do you do in the winters?
Yeah, normally little kids are sat in chairs, given a piece of paper and a pencil to focus on, and told to stop wiggling at around this age. It’s not good for the kids at all, and many of us recognize it, but the current system is so ingrained that it’s hard to do anything else. Like this video shows, it’s not impossible, but it’s also difficult to make sure other systems teach the essentials of the society they’re growing up in as they grow, like paying taxes or cooking or math.
@@breeknutson9149 uhh, you still go outside
@@Solitudevv I’m live in Montana, where temperatures can get into -20 degrees. Most schools in general shut down when it got that cold, I was just wondering if Norway would eventually go inside after a certain low temperature.

Augie's parents have done a remarkable job, he is a social butterfly and so in tune with the group but still sensetive to the needs of individuals.
And you can see base camp guys!
And best friends with everyone in the world! Including the owls!

I hope someone is telling Augies parents what an absolutely outstanding kid they are raising. And I hope someone is telling Augie how amazing he is. That little boys kindness and empathy is beyond his years. Raise your kids to be Augies

I so appreciate the conversation about equity. There is a school like this near me but I would never be able to to afford to send my kids...
Johnny just won the most important contest he’s been in. That little boy picking him as his best friend was AMAZING ❤❤❤
Johnny's story arc of going friendless to finding a best friend is so goshdarn wholesome. 😭
Seriously! So precious. I think this genuinely healed a little part of young Johnny's heart and I love it.🥲♥
this honestly so funny yet touching at the same time 😭😂
I swear a little bit of my childhood loneliness was healed by that part too 🥹
@@stargirl7646 same! I'm watching this late at night and teared up a bit 😅
Kwesi trying to take a nap and the kids staring at him in confusion is honestly the mood of the day
That is exactly what my kid does to me when I try to nap around him 😂
Im dying over him trying to explain his name and the kids just staring at him blankly😂
"Nap? NAP? We got a dam to build, Friend Kwesi!"
Almost exactly what I said in my post
That was hilarious!
I’m so awkward with kids, I would struggle with this. And if a kid ran up to me and grabbed my hand I’d probably cry tears of joy. To be accepted by kids is everything lol
As someone who is also awkward with kids but ended up volunteering at a children’s hospital for some time, kids don’t mind you being awkward so much. You seem like a really kind-hearted person who’d listen to the kids, and that’s really all they want!
@@t.h.1492 yeah that’s my experience too. Younger kids don’t care about social norms because they haven’t learned about them yet. It’s kind of easier to interact with them if you’re awkward like I am.
so real
@@t.h.1492 I had a similar experience, immediately upon graduating high school, I took a job as an IA for a 2nd grade class. I ended up staying for three years, but at first I was so unsure of myself! I was kind a lot like Eugene actually lol, where my own trauma made me really really cautious around children because I would rather die than hurt them. But as you said, as long as you're a kind-hearted person who treats them like people (i.e. not just being an authority figure to yell at them), they'll want to get close to you, so you kind of naturally start to get more comfortable with them.
i used to be really awkward around kids too, but then i started working as a camp counselor and it got a lot easier. i think the trick is asking them questions and letting them talk about their interests and letting them open up to you. then theyre just silly lil goofballs
It's so cute when Johnny actually runs away from the pretended explosion 🥺❤️
jonny hoping to leave with single father is hilarious 😂
"I have a lot to offer! 👋🎂" lol
It was a Trixie Mattel reference and I died lol
If they can afford forest preschool you know they’ve got money. Shoot your shot Johnny!

The little girl just staring in judgement of the grown adults at her preschool is a mood.
Kwesi explaining the origin and spelling of his name and the kids not giving a flying f made me burst out laughing
The storyline of Jonny and Augie's friendship made me so happy. I hope the school is able to expand and meet its goals of equitability!

Something healed inside Jonny, Zach, and Kwesi doing this. It’s so so sweet.
For real though. This sounds like a blast.
As so many have already pointed out, this is an amazingly comforting video. I melted at the inclusive wording regarding guardians, calling them your grown ups let's everyone be included. It not only lets us include families with HBTQ+ parents but also kids that have aunts/uncles or other family members that are part of their regular circle of guardians.
The little kid in the yellow pants it’s the sweetest kid I’ve ever seen-his parents raising him right 😭😭😭
Augie going and taking Johnny by the hand when he was sad, and then Johnny putting a flower in his hair, and Augie being so proud of his flower... that was the most wholesome thing I have seen all year.
Augie inviting them over for a play date was the perfect way to end the video 😭😭🥹 what a sweetie
I didn’t expect the chemistry between Zach, Kwesi and Johnny to be so immaculate
I'm a teacher at a typical daycare/preschool and I love this! Short day so you don't have to worry about naptime. I do wonder how they handle diapers/potty training/bathrooms etc being outside and all.
They could just lay down and sleep.
I would guess they take kids that are out of diapers and if needed just go by themselves in nature.
I hope that someday most kids will have the opportunity to attend schools like this. Regular schools are basically just obedience training.
My daughter goes to a nature based school and it’s so awesome. They still learn the preschool fundamentals but in a nature setting.
Too true
yes yes yes! i cant agree enough.
Obedience training is so true … I feel like I am working on unlearning all of that, it holds you back more than anything
this is how most kids do preschool in denmark :)
"Everybody in the world is my best friend, even the owl!" I love how empathic and loving kids are. He didn't just acknowledge humans as his friend but animals and plants too!
It was so cool to see all the kids be so in-tune with nature and empathetic towards everything around them. They weren’t harming the earth, they were embracing it as something that they are apart of
I appreciate the teacher saying that this school is not accessible or equitable yet but it should be. I think too often people avoid that question to pretend they are more equitable than they are but they know their short comings and are working to fix them within the systems that make them hards. great work!!
Can we take a moment to appreciate Rachel’s quiet but sweet behind the camera comments to the kids?… absolutely adorable!
Kwesi getting swarmed with kids like seagulls when he was trying to eat his snack 😂
I can't even express how much I love this video 🥹💞

This is incredibly common in Germany. I am studying to become an educator and genuinely might want to work in one of those places sometime.
The little kids going up to him once he realized he was behind the group is so pure and cute and makes me believe this is great preschool environment
Jonny is such a mood

“I’m worried mostly about spraining an ankle”
The whole video is too quotable 😂
Kwesi's song and Jonny pitching himself to the dads.. Ugh perfection.
As a UK forest school practitioner this video brings me so so much joy. This type of education being recognized on this scale is so immensely important for it's growth. I have worked with children in multiple settings and I can 100% say that Forest School is the most magical and beneficial of all of them. The point in this video that FS is not accessible to everyone and can be so costly was incredible as well because it is the truth and it needs to change. Every single child (and teenager and adult I do Forest school with all ages!!) deserves an education to a standard this high.
This is very standard in Sweden and I am so grateful I could move here. My toddler comes back covered in mud and sand and bruises every day but she has an absolute ball
"We're outside. We gotta survive." Kwesi and his snacks had me.
