I honestly think Eugene doesn't like being involved because he cares too much. He is so considerate of not wanting to harm, upset or offend Wes that he just kind of freezes in panic mode. After being puked on he instantly said it's okay it's not your fault...I think that is just the tip of the iceberg on Eugene's childhood and why he wants to be so careful around babies and children. It was lovely to see him spend some time with Wes and learn that despite what he thinks, he is actually very capable and caring

Have you seen the video of the guys playing Rugby in Australia with a group of kids? He had that smile in the video too when playing with them. Eugene clearly has a soft spot for the young and vulnerable, especially the misunderstood. He's just scared of inadvertently hurting kids more than actually disliking them.

Eugene's willingness to go outside his comfort zone in this video has always flattened me. The little flashes of him enjoying his successes with Wes (the eating! Rocking him to sleep!) are such lovely, tender little moments. And Ariel is unbelievably radiant. I'll never get over how thoroughly Ned fooled me.

As someone who’s breastfed multiple kids...
It’s painful, tiring, and a major commitment that you can’t go back on if the kid decides they won’t take formula.
It means worrying about nipple confusion and possibly dealing with a baby that refuses to take a bottle. It means getting up in the middle of the night every time instead of dad or whoever else is baby’s caregiver. It means whipping a boob out in Disneyland or restaurants while mums with bottles tisk-tisk at you and avert their kid’s eyes🙄.
I’m not judging anyone. Bottle or boob, you do you. Nobody else should make that choice for you. Both choices will face detractors. Both have benefits and downsides. I have one side to tell. But the downsides sucked pretty bad, I’m not afraid to say. But, hey, I’ve never had a single ear infection, flu, or allergy among any of my kids, so I’m happy with my choice.
But yes...it’s worth a congratulations in an age where formula is the first choice for many parents. Formula would have been easier for me, but not better for my kid, as I’ve seen by my kids health compared to their peers.
I think more people have been turned off by the more ‘in your face’ breastfeeding mums than have been convinced. So I’m just here to give a friendly reminder that it’s worth it, but only if it outweighs the convenience that formula gives. We’re all different, mums all give love and that matters more than what fills baby’s tummy.

After watching other families and mothers, I know how important breast milk really is. It's like liquid gold to a mother, and every drop wasted is the equivalent of thousands of dollars. When mothers are able to produce a lot of breast milk and fill a whole bottle, it's like winning the lottery. This is why I liked Eugene's "congratulations, that's so much" to Ariel when he saw the milk, and Ariel's very enthusiastic "thank you", because it it really is a huge accomplishment.
Already a better father figure than Ned will ever be in his lifetime.

But the context of my comment meant Eugene most likely said congratulations because she was able to produce her own breast milk, not saying all women who don't feed their babies breast milk are undeserving of a congratulations, but since Ariel chose to produce her own milk for her child, its safe to say Eugene meant a congratulations towards the fact that she is actually able to reproduce.
@@CynistrelleAlso I had to go through having really close family members who literally live under the same roof as me have a child, not being able to produce milk for them, and having to buy a special kind of formula for him because he was allergic to basically every other kind out there. It was $50 a can, which was only about the size of a can of tomatoe sauce, and it wouldn't even last 3 days. So yeah, when a mom can produce breast milk for her kid, and she of course chooses to do it, it's a real miracle/blessing. Especially with the hypersensitive kids coming into the world now adays. I mean we were behind on bills because the kid needed to eat. Scary situation for sure.

This video is quite possibly the most painful to watch anymore. Seeing the relationship Eugene had with Ned and Ariel and the bond he had formed with Wes were so much fun to watch. Now that's all been left in ruins because of Ned's cheating.
I sincerely hope that, in the future, Eugene and Ariel can still maintain a friendship. Wes and Finn deserve to know Eugene and he deserves to see them grow.
