Zach needs to find dresses that suit his aesthetic. A giant wacky cozy sweater dress. A wrap dress in a fun print. Things that look like what he already enjoys wearing. And I second the motion to have Eugene help style the accessories.

As a plus size AFAB, finding a dress that doesn't give me body dismorphia is so hard, but seeing Jared in so many different dresses AND LOOKING ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, made me feel so much better! I am so proud of all of these guys for owning it! And all of the ppl supporting them are so amazing 🥺❤️❤️

literally me when i found out my dress had pockets but reversed cus i went from ooh pockets!!! to im going to kill my stepdad for suggesting I sell aliexpress dresses as "handmade" (no joke, he thinks thats a legit business opportunity)
Jared picked the most flattering looks and really nailed the androgyny that dresses can give like they looked so natural on him!

I love how much he leaned into it! He grabbed the hat and the glasses, he wanted a purse, he felt strong as a unit. I am so here for it! I love this and not for the novelty, I just like people experimenting with their appearance

He REALLY pulls off these dresses. Part of it is the confidence and the fact that he just has really good taste but god damn.
Jared's 'fit for Starbucks is truly fierce. I love it. He totally pulled it together in a way that was casual and looked like him. I think some of the dresses would have worked better if they fit their bodies better or had more thought into the overall look. With more time, I think they could have all found their style and slayed it hard.

I think the thing is that the dresses actually fit Jared. Johnny and Zach picked the ugliest dresses that also were baggy on them, like Maggie said, so they looked like they were wearing someone else's clothes.

Jared is IT. He is the MOMENT. He is EVERYTHING. The accessories, the fit, the way he carried himself. I’m obsessed and I fully think he could and should mix dresses into his wardrobe bc he understands exactly what to do with them.

Favorite looks for each: Jared in the green and white dress, Johnny in the rich lady dress and Zach in the black dress with the x. Though I really loved seeing how excited and joyful Johnny got when he was wearing the selkie dress. Thank you for creating this video.

As a trans person this doesn’t feel like a mockery at all. I think it’s so silly that people care so much about literal cloth. Seeing them have so much joy wearing dresses makes me happy. Everyone should be able to wear what makes them happy without fear.

His nonchalant response to criticism at the coffee shop was spot on. I loved Zach's response when he realized he was being judged and wasn't having any of it but Jarrod perfectly pointed out, I don't care, didn't even notice. Those were two great moments.

Yeah I thought it was a shame they bought so many bland or cheap looking dresses, and dresses that maybe a 19 year old would wear. It would have been better for them to go shopping for dresses that suited them and fit them well, with shoes and accessories to suit like women generally do. There were some gems but I feel like a lot of them were just big no's. Tan France would die looking at that clothing rack 😅

If Jared doesn't start wearing dresses on the reg, I'm legit going to riot. His were flattering, they fit well, and he styled them into an amazing outfit. Zach's and Jonny's were just way too big for their frames.

For better or worse, Zach and Jonny don’t have broad chests, which meant anything they tried on that was cut for breasts felt too big for them. Jared is very big across the top, so he fit well into dresses that required breasts. (Except Selkie, obviously, since they’re supposed to be large and flouncy dresses.)

Jared fuckin killed that green dress both with and without the undershirt, it fit him extremely well. The hat was a real nice touch. Johnny's white and gold dress would look absolutely killer with a corset or something, I felt the middle was just a tad boring (totally personal preference, he looked stunning either way). I really like how Zach styled the black dress with the camo jacket. Everyone can absolutely rock a dress when they feel like it

I was NOT prepared for Jared to absolutely SLAY every dress we saw him in! Every look he had made me want to look HALF as good! His fits were immaculate and I think if Zach and Jonny found ones that suited their frames a little better they would ALL be slaying!

I think the guys would probably enjoy incorporating skirts into their wardrobes. They all like the flow of a skirt, but Zach in particular was struggling to find a dress that didn’t make him feel too exposed on the top half. Skirts seem like a good middle ground, if they end up wanting to add dress-centric things to their closets. I absolutely loved this video
I also dont enjoy really top revealing dresses but there are cuts for that, I think it'd be interesting if they went shopping for their own dresses and got their pick that way
That’s the first thing I thought! I love and prefer open, exposed tops for myself, but they should maybe go for a maxi skirt “try” where they can wear flattering shirts that expose only what they’re comfortable with

I get typecast as a dude and I have very comfy Jesus-robe style pink dress that my brother sewed. Covers my top half and my ankles. Keeps me sun protected while enjoying the flow and breeze. Then I just wear shorts so I can sit down without my neck being pulled. Either way it's a very comfy outfit that I love. Clothes are not gendered. :)

Ok but that green dress is stunning on Jared! It looked great with the white undershirt! The white 'rich woman' shirt dress that Johnny wore looked so good too! The black cross dress and the orange bodycon looked so good on Zach! Orange is a really good colour on him!
I’m actually really touched at Zach’s indignation, because I’ve had some horrible experiences with just walking around and expressing myself and I’ve talked to people about it and I usually get the “well you dress loudly”. I’m grateful that people who don’t normally have this experience are talking about it. It’s just nice to have someone validate how upsetting the experience can be from someone on the “outside”
I had a similar experience but a different reason why. Growing up in alabama some people try to act like racism isn't a thing, but it absolutely is. I had never experienced the awful experience some of the friends had until we were all at this sonic sitting outside eating. I was the only white person there and I had long sleeves on. A group of guys in trucks started honking and screaming the n word at us. I was horrified and none of them even flinched. I turned and lost my mind at them and they straight up apologized, but only to me. I was already anti racist obviously, but it is hard to be truly empathetic and realize how bad people are treated until you experience it yourself. I'll never understand why it is so hard to just let people be, in any context.
This is a big reason why I don’t “dress loudly” and I absolutely hate that i hold back. I love seeing folks dress as they wish! Props to you

I have hope for the future as people become open minded, but I hate that so many have to be fearful amd hold back until then. I hope we can all dress as we wish and just be ourselves. As a kid who grew up very non gender comforming, I got so much shit. As a trans adult, seeing this does really give me hope.

I wish they would have styled the dresses more! A little belt and a cute turtleneck or a blouse under the dress can change the whole look. Maybe cute socks, shoes or stockings would work with some of them! It would look more like an outfit rather than just a dress slapped on somebody 😊
Also someone should tell the guys that undies and foundation garments are everything! Watching Zach struggle with what to wear was precious. Yeah it’s one piece but that doesn’t make the choice easier!

Zach’s little rant/monologue around 13mins is exactly what it feels like to be plus sized as well. Heaven forbid we wear a crop top or short shorts or sleeveless or tube top. The looks, the comments the general judging vibe…. It’s real.
From another plus-size girl, I agree. I remember when I was 17 and had the audacity to show my arms whilst wearing a tank top and had 3 full-grown men follow me around calling me a "monster". It's terrifying to wear something new or show even the tiniest amount of skin.
This is so genuine. Even for people who aren't plus, it feels like if you don't fit into that "slim and skinny" category people will judge your outfits or personal preference. As a person who is on that weird in-between of not skinny but not exactly plus size, I still get judged for wearing a crop top, or short shorts like you stated! Sometimes just in general having bigger thighs, a larger stomach, filled out arms, stretch marks and such, rather than having that dream body everyone wishes for. It's hurtful on a personal level, but seeing the Try Guys explore and relate to the feelings a lot of people go through, or being catcalled or anything similar along the topics for being judged in public, it's pretty healing and helps a lot of people (myself included) feel much more confident and ready to say hey! This is me and what I like to wear, if you don't like it so what! 🤍

I so badly want to experiment with my style and start wearing dresses and short clothes and things with keyholes…. But I every time I put something like that on I just feel so fat and ugly. I don’t know if it’s my body or if it’s the clothing I’m trying or if this world really just doesn’t consider bigger bodies/differently shaped bodies when making clothing.
It’s really upsetting sometimes.

Yeah, us women have been wanting pockets in dresses for a while. If you find a dress that fits you with pockets, you've hit the jackpot. I'll find one once in a blue moon and it instantly becomes one of my favorites. I also prefer to have shorts on under dresses whenever possible.

Jared looks SO GREAT omg I'm actually jealous. I love how he appropriated his fits, he has accessories and all, which makes it all look so organic and well put together. It would have been fun to see Zack and Jonny put a little more of their personnality into what they were wearing too (and also get more fitting dresses xD) though they did really well too! I love that Zack tried to layer and put over and under shirts. I think if he had tried a necklace or something around his neck for the deep V dresses it would have taken the empty/naked feeling away!

I think the difference between confidence levels of Jared and the others is the dresses seem to look like they're more closely tailored to him. There aren't as many large gaps under the armpits/side of the chest, the waists are properly cinched when appropriate, and they seem to match his style/vibe. I think that's also why the poofy dress looked so good on Jonny. It looked like it was made for him. All love to the guys for trying this out, I know it's intimidating (especially in public) and they did so well!
Yeah I agree. As a trans woman ™ the reality is that a lot of dresses just don't look flattering to your figure, and it kinda sucks. Would have liked for them to get advice from people who match their body types and wear dresses, so they can do the absolute most to look as flattering as possible.
@@randomnpc7773 Yea, I've heard of my trans friends experiences with how hard clothing can be but I feel like a lot of the dresses they tried in this video, besides a select few of them, could have been greatly improved just by adding a belt that fit with the dress vibe and that way they could adjust it to look more flattering to them. If they got different types of belts to try with the dresses, it would have made them look a lot better.

That's what I was thinking. There was judgement but I do think some of it was actually just critiquing the style choices. Dresses are very specific to body types and colour matching is so important.

I loved this, I agree with the comments saying they should do a redo with matching shoes and some accessories. I feel like Jared’s fits seemed more pulled together with sunglasses and hats and necklaces, and they all just needed either a matching shoe or some sort of bag or jewelry, and some tailoring to get the dresses to fit with an even more flattering drape. They would look sooo good
Unironically, Zach is my spirit animal. I just recently got diagnosed with fibro, and his videos helped me so much. His reaction to what transpired in the Starbucks is so ME lol I've been feeling kinda down lately so I just wanted to say thanks. Zach showing that side of himself made me feel less alone.
I wish they’d brought someone in to style the boys. Like even had Eugene in to help them make an outfit. I feel if they’d been properly fitted and went with the styles they already liked, they’d have really fallen in love with wearing dresses. Especially with zach being uncomfortable with the exposed skin. There’s so many maxi dresses and long sleeve flare dresses he’d probably really enjoy that he could get in funky colours and patterns to suit his wackiness❤
That's what was bugging me! The uncomfy because it wasn't their style was a huge thing in this video. And then the improperly fitted dresses felt just...Frumpy. I know I feel better when my clothing actually fits me.

I'm a goth myself and tbh the new gen of "alts" have no idea about what it actually means to be a goth or a punk, they just do it for the aesthetic of it, lacking the messages and the principles of the culture, whose are deeply rooted in cretaivity and self expression.
They should have been the first ones to approve and give them an approving smile.

They brought up multiple times in the video that this could be perceived as mockery or a joke. Jared's styling was perfect but I wish the others had a professional choose their outfits so they were clearly intentional to see if it changed the reception they got.
I had similar thoughts. I feel women are regularly judged for what we wear. Either we are too conservative, too flashy, too provocative. We cannot win. There is always someone giving the stink eye to what we wear. The judgement they received as a result of wearing "feminine" clothes showcases the frustrating reality that feminine attire is often unfairly judged. Simply put let people dress how they want.
the absolute best realizations that the guys made in this video, in my opinion as a woman who has worn/does wear dresses, are;
1) that dresses, while typically seen as more formal than most other articles of clothing, can actually be very comfortable, sometimes even to the point of feeling pajama-y,
2) that the “marilyn monroe moment” is a very real fear, and a very possible experience, and
3) the overwhelming excitement and joy of finding out that your dress has POCKETS!!!

I used to struggle to buy clothes because my chest was too big for everything. Now I'm struggling because I lost 2/3 of my clothes and nothing fits right with no breast tissue.
