Greetings from Finland! Valuable work you're doing with the NBC110 tuning. I have one imported from Japan, where it's known as the Cross Cub 110 2013-2015 with the JA10E engine. It's almost exactly the same as the CRF110 2012-2014 engine but fuel injected and with an auto-clutch.
Just stumbled across this as I recently picked up an NBC110 myself.
For such a simple mod, the improvement is respectable. I have to wonder if a couple Plumbing PVC Elbows in the side holes would still allow the larger air volume, while taming some of the excessive induction noise.

I know this thread is old. I put some mesh over the holes I drilled in the airbox, allows air to enter but baffles the sound
How did that work mate? What other mods have you done?
i reckon you'd have picked up a bit more with a cleaner filter mate, nonetheless bloody awesome work mate.
I did try with air cleaner completely removed, didnt seem to make that much difference. I will do more testing soon.

What side would you drill the hole on?
I drilled the hole on both sides in the front cover but covered one up with tape as it was too loud. If I was only going to drill one hole it would be right side. Have a new video coming out soon. Have changed big bore kit and fitting exhaust
