Put my order in yesterday with the 15t front sprocket, and higher guard kit, in the zephyr blue, I was surprised how smooth the motor was, with a great note from stock ! Also feels pretty balanced, and turns in easily. Not overly impressed by the front brake, but easily something I could get used to
Hello Jonno, I was wondering about such a low front guard and getting clogged up and throwing you off when in the stick shite, which happened to me on an old Yamaha DT 250 a hundred years ago. Where can you get a higher guard kit from? Thanks.
@glennmorrissey2529 cfmoto themselves, $159 au mine cost through the dealer when I bought the bike, although the kit is still on backorder, I'm guessing due to popularity.
@@jonnothetrucker Thank you. My mate sells them in Moorebank, Sydney and am going for a test this Saturday. Any opinion on geting a centrestand, I haven't ridden dirt for ages and last hitout was on my old 1150 GSA which I now keep in Europe for touring so am lookiong to stay our of hospital and a bit of reasonably tough stuff.
@glennmorrissey2529 I'm considering a centre stand, but so far all I've done is put a pad on the side stand (b&b offroad)to make it a bit more stable in the soft stuff (so far works great), they sit up fairly straight on the side stand too, I'm only thinking centre stand for servicing etc, not really seeing a need for it elsewhere at the moment
I'm onboard and hope to see some of your work with some straight pipes on this thing. I've got a Vandemon set arriving any day here and a reflash will be a must....

Its interesting to see you guys already playing with and enjoying you bikes over there across the pond. Hopefully one of these days I can get my hands on one over here once they are available. You all will already have all the little niggles and everything figured out on this bike before we ever get one lol
@evelcustom9864 there are hundreds on videos of these bikes running. I can make another video but the loudest part is the knobby rear tyre on the dyno roller
@@frashd I think you misunderstood my comment. I mean that at the end of the video you should clearly and simply describe the difference in power and torque of the two different sprockets and put up a graphic with that info. Especially for those people who are not used to regularly reading a dino.
Thx again for the effort! Question: can you give a small crash course on what you are doing? What quantities are you measuring, what impact do the quantities have in the performance.. and how can you enhance the performance…. (And why do you shift up without clutch?
the shift is done with a flick of the wrist just like a quick shift (cutting torque through the gear) the gearboxes are dog engagement so simple to do so. I am checking rpm at 100 km/h for sprocket change, power check again after doubters thought it should make more ( quoted power from CFMOTO is @8500)
CFMOTO have recently sent out an update through their app with a new mapping. My bike runs under 6000rpm at 100k. It also addressed the choppy throttle issue.
I wonder how software update can change things which can only be done manually. this twitchy throttle can only be corrected from pull and push cables. Do you have CFmoto update details. Did they mention what improves with this upgradd.
Awesome video mate. So quick question. If I have a supersport 1000cc bike and it makes 115nm of toque at the wheels with stock gearing. If I gear it down say -1 on the front and +1 in the rear will the dyno figures for torque change? I know the overall power won't but not sure about torque..? Keep up the good videos
@NUTS13GTX thanks for watching. I use a sprocket calculator that you can find through a google search. It tells you torque gains and losses if you input the correct data. Engine power will always remain the same but the final ratio will determine tractive effort (torque at wheel)
Hello from Greece. So you are telling that torque line and the hp on the wheel are more and better? How much more torque and hp on the wheel between 14t and 15t ? I am trying to undestand how ... That is impressive
@Ps-fd1gx engine torque does not change. It is multiplied or divided by gearing as any other engine. If you look on the Web the are sprocket calculators
Are there 16 or 17t front sprockets? I presume the 450nk uses the same sprockets as the ibex 450 (mt)? Im not particularly interested in off-road riding, just want a much taller gear for highways. I geared my 200cc Lifan and 150cc Xpro bikes to rev 1k rpm every 10mph. Meaning 5k rpm at 50mph. I feel this bike should be able to handle at least 4k rpm at 50 mph, 8k rpm at 100mph in final gear.
I wouldn't go larger than 15t on the front. Drop the rear down if not happy with a 15t front. I have rear sprocket ready to fit but I don't think it needs it.
No it would actually go lower. If i ever doubt figures on big powered cars I make sure the tyres are old and hard. Even tyre brands and rims weights can effect power reading on a ramp. steady state is different.
Why do you think the bike is going to make anywhere near the power claim? That’s at the brochure (crank) and you are measuring at the rear wheel or have I missed something? Also you mentioned less torque because of the larger front sprocket but torque remains the same what changes is rear wheel thrust.
Torque is multiplied by gearing. Engine torque is the same but torque at wheel is different when gearing changed. See it all the time. "Thrust" what??? Yeh don't know about that mate. No dyno in the world has a Thrust calculation.
@@frashd Yeah, the speed you get the peak torque at also changes so you compensate with a lower gear with taller sprockets so you get identical in-practice results when riding. The first gear is what means the most and 5th or 6th depends on how many gears the bike has :) A Yamaha DT125R 1st gear is so short you can go 18/55 sprockets instead of 16/57(stock) and it will be perfect for offroad AND onroad. Only 7500rpm@90km/h.
Hey, I've already got on 15T sprocket and going to replace it soon, but still have some consideration for rear 46T sprocket. What do you thing about change to 15/46 set? will it still perform good in off-road conditions? Or maybe just stick around 15/47? Thanks for your suggestions

Can someone explain me?? How the bike have more hp with 15terth when the gearing is longer and less power and got more top speed?
I revved the bike slightly harder, torque has dropped slightly in mid. gearing effects torque HP is work done over time.
I prefer to change the rear sprocket, so I lose a little weight thanks to a smaller sprocket and a shorter chain.
@carlose.5245 that involves alot more work for testing purposes. Plus reduced diameter of rear sprocket reduces swing arm clearance
