I used to worry about what bike I was being seen on but with age comes wisdom and now at 51 I'd gladly accept one of these cubs with open arms, people friendly, great economy and as the old adverts used to say"you meet the nicest people on a Honda" plus you'll never get a speeding ticket! A great bike and in this format will be hugely popular.
@@lauraspud4270 Just about bought one on complete impulse. Only thing that put a hard stop to that is the fact they're inexplicably unavailable in Canada.
I recently watched an anime called Super Cub. Before watching the show, I had thought that my love for motorcycles are already over with. The more I watched, I found myself looking for motorcycles on fb marketplace. I now finally have a motorcycle again.
I own a 1964 honda c310 and a 1974 Honda SS50 and those engines are great! There's a reason they are still using those engines, reliable, powerful, low maintanence, fuel economy. Love those Hondas.
The sound of even the CUB is better than any electric bike. I started on a 76 Honda Trail 90, loved it then and still ride and love it today. Agreed, one is not enough! Hope you try the new Honda Trail 125 when it comes out in the US (It is already here in AU).
I have the 2020 Super Cub and get 140+ mpg on a regular basis. Tons of fun, very quiet yet a nice throaty hum when you rev the engine. Love this thing!
The 70s CB125 with carburator could carry a young man to 60mph. Unless this had a governor, i assume it can do it easily. Groms have buzzed past me cruising up a mountain at 50, and they were toating big boys. However a mile or two ahead i came across one that went wide and plowed into a cliff face. He was ok. Grom... Weeellll.
I recently got a 150 cc "scooter" and I love doing my errands on it, super lightweight and fun to ride. It keeps miles off my vfr800 too, riding 40 years started on a scooter
There are so many Honda’s like this one in my home country and not as many cars. Seeing you riding on American highways with all the enthusiasm and excitement makes me smile
If it was a trike or had a side car, I would have it. Since my second stroke I've had to give up motorcycles because of my balance. But man that's a cool, retro looking motorcycle. Awesome video, I love this channel. Just because I can't ride anymore doesn't mean I can't look...lol
I agree, the Honda Cub is an iconic m/c, and just to mention in the early and mid 70s the Honda m/c company had 60% of the m/c market, which is absolutely amazing.
I love the channel. I grew up riding dirt bikes but haven't been on 2 wheels in over 20 years. My kid is off to college soon and I think it's about time to get back on one!
Owned five Honda's over the years including the mighty 75' 750four, 68' 305 Dream I restored, TWO cubs (74' and 80' passport), and cl125 during college days. Eyeing one of these to enjoy in upcoming Senior years...I'm 62 yo riding since 69'.
Why wouldn't they?? This bike still sells like it used to when it was introduced. This is Honda's most selling bike and the most popular bike in the world. There is no reason to discontinue it.
I remember these as honda 50 here in Jamaica as a little boy they were very strong a lot of owners were farmers and business operators, that used to load them like a little pickup truck and they wouldn't break down , one farmer had his farm a couple miles up the hill and that bike would run both ways loaded and never failed , I remember the c50 c90 s90 z90 and then the cb 100 .
On the highway you can tell its not maxed out. It has to have some kind of governor that you could possibly adjust and go faster. Your right it would be a blast with a couple buddies cruising! 🔥🔥👍👍❤
You have to hunker down behind the speedo to cut the wind resistance to get to sixty! That much I remember with the c90’s (it also helps to round up the speed to the next number - the benefits of a speed dial over an lcd speed indicator 🤣)

Great review! Coincidentally I’m gone ride my ‘81 C70 from Lancaster to Ocean City, NJ this weekend to join the family! My full size bikes have been collecting dust since I got the C70 in the spring.
I remember when this bike came out originally, and it was super fun and was considered the perfect bike to take to college campuses across the USA. Durable and long lasting like all Hondas, perfect for people not ready to have a full blown motorcycle. One might call it a "beginners" motorcycle. I went off to college in 1971, and should have gotten one. Instead, I caught the bug in 1985, when Honda was rolling out their Elite line of scooters. I bought the 1985 Honda Elite 150cc. I drove the hell out if for next 33 years. I drove it every day to work, weather permitting,....( I'm in Ohio). I housed it in a rented, heated warehouse, during our nearly 6 months of winter. Ya still need a (back up) car,...but the rest of the time, it was scooter fun all the time.
As far as engine parts, I'd guess whatever fits a Grom will probably fit a Super Cub or Monkey. The only real difference between the Super Cub and the others is the centrifugal clutch.
I don't know what they called it in the mid-60s, but my dad had a 150cc version with a fairing like that. Only had it for a couple of months until he went up to a 350 cc bike. He spent his youth on an old Indian with a suicide shift in the late 30s and early forties. Was even driving years before he got his license because he was a military messenger for the Navy in Bayonne. They actually hired bikers to run their messages, they didn't care who you were or how old you were! Just how patriotic you were! At 16 he forged his birth certificate and by the time he was 18 he was sitting in the tail gun of a B-17! So seeing that bike again was a pleasure, thank you!
The gears are very well (wide) spaced! I like it, despite me disliking the gearbox. You can change the sprockets to get better MPG. Through my headphones it sounds more like a bigger bike (250-300cc). I used to have a 125cc naked bike from China, and aside from it running too lean, it was a blast to ride. At least with Honda, there's no clutch slip, and it starts up right away. Another trick is to put 1/128th of 2 stroke oil in the fuel (1 gal = 1 oz of 2 stroke oil), it'll allow the bike to have higher torque, and run a bit faster. Dose between 1:100 and 1:200. Your bike is quite new, that could be the reason you can't yet hit 60MPH.
Yeah, they look fun as heck. The wife and I tool around on our 35 mph minibikes, and to actually be street legal on one of those would be great. Really interested in the Trail 125 that you say is coming out, too!!!!!!

Hi, good review. I owned a Honda C70 club when I was a teenager and loved that little bike. I have driven and owned lots of different bikes in my life time I am over 60 now and bought a Honda NC750X which I think is the modern reincarnation of my little Honda C70 club, it is very easy to ride comfortable automatic and I get over 80mpg all day long. So I find I have come full circle In my bike driving life thanks to Mr Honda.
*DUDE, I am from Dominican Republic and those little things are a legend! almost indestructible! not very fast even though highly modifiable, but overall not very fast. Great short distance commuter, and if I can put my hands on one of those Ill be set for life!*
I recently purchased the 2022 model (I know all about the 'not another black motorcycle' thing, but I loved it), took me a month to track one down. One dealer down in Detroit was hording them in all of Michigan (that's my story, at least). Bought it in February because I didn't want to miss it (it was 2023) and had to wait until near April to actually take it out. I highly, HIGHLY recommend getting a windshield. PUIG makes a couple different styles (I went with the urban because it's a bit taller) and are super easy to install. There are others you can get too, but that was the best price vs. quality. The lens is super clear and doesn't warp your vision. I have noticed that it gets a bit faster when you hit 40-ish because you're deflecting the wind around you. It can and will do 60, it takes a bit when you get to 50 to break out of that speed, but it'll do it and I'm pretty sure I could have pushed almost 65. I had just a little bit of throttle left when I hit 60.
I had a 125cc scooter (not a Honda) and drove it all over the States (Illinois, Wisconsin, South Texas, and Louisiana....). I easily hit 65 mph but it ate the engine up eventually. Tons of fun to ride though! Just unbelievable! I will say this: wear your gear. If you are going 50-60mph on anything, you are going to hurt yourself if you go down.
The Trail 90, Trail 110 and Passport 70 were all Super Cubs, and sold in the US until 1984. They brought them back to the US in 2019 (there was one at the Biggest Little Honda Rally in the World, Reno, NV in August 2019). The Honda Monkey is built on the Grom platform. The Super Cub is a "motor driven cycle" (because engine size is less than 150cc) thus not freeway legal in California, and maybe other states
My first two wheel experience (1969) as a kid I rode my older step sister's Honda Cub. I think it was 90cc. Honda advertisement back then, "You meet the nicest people on a Honda". Marketing that got around the bad boy Marlin Brando Wild Bunch image. Always enjoy your videos. Keep 'em coming.
Great review. Super Cub Classic version with solo seat is a sharp little bike. Looks like it performs good too. Don't like the looks of the new Gray Version with buddy seat quite as much. Either one would still be a ton of fun.
Learned a lot. I totally love your videos (it's like the 3rd or 4th I've checked out from your channel today). The Honda flyer with their jingle that you meet the nicest people on a Honda was a laugh out loud riot especially of the picture of Santa and the dude with the shaggy dog driving one of their cycles. Hope to get one someday in the future.
Honda's Super Cub is a legend. It runs 108 kilometers (about 6 miles) liters. Also, it will not break even if dropped from the height of the 6th floor of the building. Even if it is completely submerged, it can run if it dries.
I had a 1964 Honda S-90, 8 hp 4 speed, and 100+ mpg. I used to fill the tank by draining the hoses at the Clarke station that I worked at. Brings back fun memories.
I'm doing exactly that right now! My riding buddy, Adrian, and I are on the road from Houston, TX to Bar Harbor, Maine to ride in the Scooter Cannonball Run. That event will be 4500 miles, coast to coast over 10 days, ending in Eureka, CA. I'm tracking all of my fuel receipts and mileage (always do), and I'll be posting all of the videos on my channel and the fuel stats in Fuelly for everyone to view: fuelly.com/driver/QuasiMotard . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I agree about the key fob. I’m happy to use an actual key - cheap to replace, no battery, no bulk. I ride similar bikes in Thailand. They are convenient and fun. These small bikes are the work horses of SE Asia.
I raced these Scoots (C90) around the Woods as a kid! They have a soft spot in my heart and I will upgrade my commuter bike next year for one of these! Currently ride a Piaggio Liberty for commuting and a winter hack! It is a great little Scooter, reliable and reasonably quick! My summer toy is a Vespa GTS300, now that is a proper Scooter for posing and Touring on, but I have to get a Super Cub for the Nostalgia of owning one again!
I just got into riding this year and bought a Honda cb300 and I love it. I started watching motorcycle video after I got a bike and I have enjoyed you videos because you aren't a brand or riding style snob. It is awesome that you appreciate and like all different types of bikes!!!
My old C90 would get 120 to the (UK) gallon. These new cubs apparently get 180 - so waaaay more than 100 (US). PS I love how everyone else is doing about 70mph on the highway - despite the 55 limit!
I have had a few bikes, a Honda Passport, CB360T, 500 Ascot, CB750, Suzuki 1100 punched out,7r to a tricked out 1000R, and the Honda Pass Port always put a big smile on my face.
Not new to the channel, but new to subscribe! I'm an old dude, so i actually remember the introduction of these foreign bikes. I had a Honda Passport C70. I was a teenager at the time and although I liked riding it, I wanted something more powerful. Now I wished I had kept it because they are nearly impossible to find. They are perfect for driving around town.
@@nitrorc4life1 I had a red one. A few years ago I saw a gold one in absolutely pristine condition. Ran like it was brand new!
I recently restored an old 2004 Honda Super Cub 50cc and I absolutely love it
I used to worry about what bike I was being seen on but with age comes wisdom and now at 51 I'd gladly accept one of these cubs with open arms, people friendly, great economy and as the old adverts used to say"you meet the nicest people on a Honda" plus you'll never get a speeding ticket! A great bike and in this format will be hugely popular.
Watching the Super Cub anime, honda’s anime was probably successful advertising. 👍🏻
I was on the brink of buying one and that show pushed me over the edge. No joke.
Clicked this video just to find this kind of comments.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who know about that anime lol
@@lauraspud4270 Just about bought one on complete impulse. Only thing that put a hard stop to that is the fact they're inexplicably unavailable in Canada.
That anime is making me buy one even tho I already have 2 manual mopeds from the seventies , I will for sure buy one
I recently watched an anime called Super Cub. Before watching the show, I had thought that my love for motorcycles are already over with. The more I watched, I found myself looking for motorcycles on fb marketplace. I now finally have a motorcycle again.
One does not simply lose love for motorcycles
LET'S GO SUPER CUB
I own a 1964 honda c310 and a 1974 Honda SS50 and those engines are great! There's a reason they are still using those engines, reliable, powerful, low maintanence, fuel economy. Love those Hondas.
A variation of this bike is still one of the best selling ones in Malaysia, these days. Enjoy them! They're great!
Just picked up a new 2021. Makes me feel like a kid again.
I'm still waiting for mine...
The sound of even the CUB is better than any electric bike. I started on a 76 Honda Trail 90, loved it then and still ride and love it today. Agreed, one is not enough!
Hope you try the new Honda Trail 125 when it comes out in the US (It is already here in AU).
I owned the Korean version of this bike while stationed there and I must say. This archaic engine a fun and nimble. A true back road hero!
I have the 2020 Super Cub and get 140+ mpg on a regular basis. Tons of fun, very quiet yet a nice throaty hum when you rev the engine. Love this thing!
Love your vid man, this is my wishlist first motorcycle, you have a great life and your family bud! In Red, from Ph! God bless you bro!
I’ve always loved Hondas. Even these things are cool to me lol.
Honda always has been & still is the most reliable make in the world👍👍fact👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧
I learned to ride on a 1969 C90 in the 90's and I still have that bike.
I bought one of these to teach my kids how to ride. It worked well. I weigh 240lbs and I could get this up to 55 completely stock.
He was ok. Grom... Weeellll.
I’ve been riding for 47 years now and I have owned about everything and I am in love with this little sweet bike 🏍

I love that they decided to keep this legendary bike alive👍
I used to ride these around fields when I was 10. My first experience of motorcycles. Yay!!
Same! With no weather shield.
Trail 125 is out. My local dealer had 3. Sold before they hit the showroom
That's the same story when the Monkeys came out too.
You have to hunker down behind the speedo to cut the wind resistance to get to sixty!
That much I remember with the c90’s (it also helps to round up the speed to the next number - the benefits of a speed dial over an lcd speed indicator 🤣)
The greatest honda ever made is the one that made honda what it is today, the C50/90,is the vehicle that sold more than any other by far.
yes! and the GLX
I had a c90 in '74 loved it to bits.
I rode this beautiful bike about 1978.i had the 50cc ,70cc,90cc .I did have a 100 cc but it was not good to ride.so went back to a 50cc. Great review! Coincidentally I’m gone ride my ‘81 C70 from Lancaster to Ocean City, NJ this weekend to join the family! My full size bikes have been collecting dust since I got the C70 in the spring.
I had an 81 Honda CT70 Passport. It is the only bike I regret selling.
Wait till those Grom kids get ahold of one of these lol. It'll do 60 then.
It wouldn't be hard at all to get to 60+.
Easy with the 143 cc big bore kit
@@chopsinistra4860 Yep. Maybe fit a oil-cooler on it. Does the BBK come with a head with more that 2 valves?
They do 60+ stock. Just gotta tuck lol
As far as engine parts, I'd guess whatever fits a Grom will probably fit a Super Cub or Monkey. The only real difference between the Super Cub and the others is the centrifugal clutch.
Instead of a donkey if Jesus was here today He would ride this
Jesus was a carpenter by trade. I imagine He would prefer a pickup truck. :)
A skateboard 🛹
Jesus would use the new jetsuit.
Great job Sean! More test ride videos please. Really enjoy your work
I don't know what they called it in the mid-60s, but my dad had a 150cc version with a fairing like that.
They are EVERYWHERE here in Australia, All our postman use them, known fondly here as "The Postie bike"
I thought the postie bike was the trail version of the Cub, the CT110.
@@CaptHollister there was a trail variant back in the day that had hi and low drive but farmers mostly had those
Wish they had that here in the🇺🇸 for the P.O. Our vehicle are 30 year old hot boxes on wheels 👎
I can hit 60 on mine and it only has 30 miles on it right now. I bought a windshield and it made a HUGE difference in performance.
Yeah, they look fun as heck. The wife and I tool around on our 35 mph minibikes, and to actually be street legal on one of those would be great. Really interested in the Trail 125 that you say is coming out, too!!!!!!
It'll set you back 4k!
Thank you for sharing!
The first bike that rode when I was about 10 years old! May the Lord continuing blessing you!!!
I can't even watch srk anymore without someone trying to sell me an extended warranty on my vehicle. What a shame.
I must admit, I have reduced my viewership as well.

I also own a year old Monkey which is great too. Love them.
You could easily pull a Fred Flintstone and get it to 65mph.
Quit making me wait so long for an upload lol. Sweet little bike!
*DUDE, I am from Dominican Republic and those little things are a legend! almost indestructible! not very fast even though highly modifiable, but overall not very fast. Great short distance commuter, and if I can put my hands on one of those Ill be set for life!*
when he said "Lets go find apples" I actually died
Love the cub
The original 50cc version had a dual seat and was repairable at home. How is this progress?
Good, I've been trying to reach you about your bikes extended warranty.
Good day to you.
I am a Honda Cross Cub Grandpa from Japan.
It is a nice C125 video!!
Thank you so much for sharing.
Have a nice day!!
Great review, my buddy has 73k on his 1970 cub and it’s still running 👍
I had a 125cc scooter (not a Honda) and drove it all over the States (Illinois, Wisconsin, South Texas, and Louisiana....). I easily hit 65 mph but it ate the engine up eventually. Tons of fun to ride though! Just unbelievable!
I will say this: wear your gear. If you are going 50-60mph on anything, you are going to hurt yourself if you go down.
I love when the only concern is that in 40 years it will be annoying to try to revive the old Honda a kid finds in a barn
they do that for at least 25years now! young boys love bikes like that! the queen is the legendary HONDA GLX, the c90 c100, honda astrea-grand-supra..
I remember the Passport...never heard of the Cub until now
James May rode the older version of this across vietnam!
I have a Honda cb125f 2021, I make 700km with 10 liters of gasoline. Incredible machines. I am from Portugal.
There is anime on super cubs released recently, if you like super cubs you'll like it as well.
It's good isn't it?
I wanna do a challenge. Ride coast to coast on a super cub, using the least amount of fuel. That would make a good series.
There’s an anime called Super Cub that’s just now airing too btw 😂😂 and it’s pretty awesome
Literally this show is the whole reason I finally got off my butt and decided to learn how to ride!
It is honestly the best Honda ever made 🤣🤣
I’m Dominican Republic and this bikes are everywhere!!! I used to love riding in my uncle’s bike back in the 90s
I’ll ride this thing everywhere! Shit I can stay off the highway by staying on the feeder
I just got into riding this year and bought a Honda cb300 and I love it. I started watching motorcycle video after I got a bike and I have enjoyed you videos because you aren't a brand or riding style snob. It is awesome that you appreciate and like all different types of bikes!!!
I would absolutely love to have that ha
My old C90 would get 120 to the (UK) gallon. These new cubs apparently get 180 - so waaaay more than 100 (US).
