That battery jumper and look say “It’s not that I don’t trust you, but I’ve been stranded in you before.” Poor Defender, she is just old. Welcome back dude. Glad to virtually spend some time in the backcountry with you again.
I aboslutely love the adventures in this old truck....maybe because thats how I do my "overlanding"...In my daily work truck, with some gear thrown in the back! Thanks Chris!
Love the truck. Although Orangie is king of the off-road, the truck gets down to basics. Much like us week-end-warriors who have owned trucks most of our life, the 110 is basically a get-in-and-go experience. Glad to see you back on the trail.
Big time Apache country! On a recent trip through southern Arizona, my wife schooled me on those saguaro cactus 🌵. They don’t start to grow “arms” until they are 75 to 100 years old. Fascinating landscapes.👌
A nice simple hood on the back from exmoor trim in the uk and some interlocking garage mats on the bed floor to take the cold off the aluminium and then a cot or mat would make this the perfect overnight rig without the hassle of a tent
Great stuff Chris. A very enjoyable bimble in wonderful scenery. It’s great to see the Landy Rover stretching its legs with adventure a foot. It does not need to be fancy, it will take you to many places and make you smile. Preventative maintenance is as always key, along with a jump pack.
First video I've seen of your channel. Nothing to dislike, a tent, a sleeping bag and a car. No 1440° batwing awning, 2 story roof tent, sauna and games room. Nice and relaxed style without coming across try hard Correct hand drive? As a Brit I approve! Take my subscription. BZ.
HI CHRIS 👋 THAT LOOKED LIKE A LOT OF FUN ! SHE DID GOOD GOING THROUGH THE BACK ROADS ! LOVE HEARING THE WILDLIFE IN THE MORNINGS & THE RAIN 🌧 TAPPING UPON THE RAIN FLY TOO . BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED ❤ GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES 🙏 THANK YOU 😊 🙏
Awesome and outstanding as always.Nice to see the Landy and your camp set up and over landing gear is simple but effective. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
What an awesome episode, Chris! It felt so much like your older videos, simple, clean, great footage. If this episode ended at the 7 minute mark I still would have been stoked. It reminded me why I love camping, the simplicity of unplugging and listening to the rain. Cheers
Your Defender screams at 70?! I have a 1966 S2A that at 55 sounds like it’s launching into orbit ! Lol But in low range it will chug along and go anywhere. Still love my Jeep JKU though.👍
Chris, thanks for the video! Awesome as always! When I got my Jeep 3 years ago you were one of the first over landers that I found and started following so you're kind of my inspiration for camping out of it! :)
Nice ! You make it look so easy. The Defender has new lights, it would’ve been good to see them on, at least at your camp site. The desert 🌵 is home now huh ?
What about a small 3mx3m (umm that's about 19/257ths of an American football field isn't it?) pop up Gazebo to throw into the back of the tub when you go out? And a chair. That way you have somewhere to sit out of the weather instead of cooped up in the tent all afternoon/evening. Quick to setup/packdown in less than 5 minutes. Great little trip this week!
Definately the problem with a standard.... Trying to film and shift at the same time. Then someone calls you on the CB to. ... What kind of future plans do you have for the Defender, set up wise. Thinking one of them box frame thingies and attach an awning? Or a canvas back? Curious as to the ideas rattling about the brain. The rainy day made me think of that.
At this point just getting ahead a little on the upkeep is my main concern. Beyond that, I’m not planning to lean much into the comfy-camping side of a build. I’d like a nice, cushy suspension, a winch, locking differentials, air compressor, good tires (check) and general upkeep. I’m enjoying the simplicity, and have two other vehicles that can check the box on the comfort factor. Getting out in the truck, as dead simple as it is, is such a blast. I don’t consider it an “overlandy” vehicle and likely won’t unless and until something changes drastically with my current quiver.
It’s definitely time for a solid stay in the shop to work out some front end gremlins I can’t shake. And mayyyyybe a small transmission issue…hopefully 🤞🏻 not though.
The JK has its obvious attractions, but there is definitely something to be said for the Defender's rugged capabilities... I'm curious, is 1st gear a crawler gear? Seems like it would be great for climbing just about anything in 4L and 1st gear. What it lacks in comfort and bells/whistles it makes up for in ability to get into (and out of) tight spots, utility, and off road capability. Looks like a lot of fun!
Have you ever thought about getting your ham radio lenience? I have one and never worry about cell service. I think it is a good idea for you since you are off the beaten path so much. I think you have GMRS that is only good for a few miles and g\GMRS is not a common thing for others to have. It is easy to get your Ham Ticket.
Yes, there has been a comment or two by a previous owner on insta - I believe he’s a welder so I assume the truck had a good long hard working precious life :)
I love your casual style for such a trip. No extrem condition tech wear for an artic expedition, just jeans and shirts and converse sneakers. Nice!

There's something I really like about this episode, this is my third watch already today. I think it's just the simplicity of it all.
Gorgeous shots of the rainy sky and desert Chris !! Thanks much …
Thanks for sharing Chris. These little short trips from the house are actually cool. Adding the Landy into the mix, makes it that much better. Cheers!
Great video! I would love to get out often like you do. Thanks for posting this.
I aboslutely love the adventures in this old truck....maybe because thats how I do my "overlanding"...In my daily work truck, with some gear thrown in the back! Thanks Chris!
Welcome back! This is what you do best. We hope to see more soon.

Great to see you back out exploring again. Makes me smile. Have fun and don't worry about us.
Love your content. You personify the simplicity of the defender and how great the machine is 💪🏽
This made my Monday as all venture videos make my week
Great video my man

I love your artistic portrayal of offroad adventure. 😁
Yeah nice little wonders cruise the desert in. That was a good little video. Thank you. Just like the old days. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
That look he gave when he stored the battery jumper cables says it all ! I’m glad to see some people still have a healthy sense of humour. 😂
Not my first rodeo 😂

Wonderful colors, layers, textures, and sounds. Loved it, Chris.
Welcome back!
Great video and looks like a great adventure.
those wheels and tires look really great on the landy, I think its perfect, just like it is!

Chris, you’re one of my favorite UA-camrs. It’s great to see a new video. I hope you’re enjoying enjoy life.
Glad you are back
This was a wonderful episode, Chris. Your work on this video (and others) really helps to get across what it is like to be there, even if I am not.
Really like this, back to the old V4WD style.
I like the rustic nature of the Land Rover Adventures!
The new lights are doing well on the ole Landy, I like that you keep it basic with this truck!
The Land Rover is looking good! Great video, Chris.

I love the desert under stormy skies!! I do hope u also like being an Arizonan now … Tucson has so much to explore 😊
I need that stainless steel chest from the opening sequence lol
When Chris switches from the Chuck Taylor’s to the hiking shoes … you know he is getting serious … footwear is the indicator … lol
Keep up the good work! Still recall your travels here in the great state of Maine!
Great video and your commentary was just awesome. Keep the dry humor coming. We even rewound the vid to hear you Google weather comments twice. 😂
No offense to Shannon and the Winne but these are the videos I miss. Although I miss you venturing outside of AZ
Nice ! You make it look so easy. The Defender has new lights, it would’ve been good to see them on, at least at your camp site. The desert 🌵 is home now huh ?
Nice lights!
Good stuff thanks

Embrace the wild side!
I love the Defender, however, where is that beautiful orange Jeep that made this channel? Have a blessed week.
so cosy sounding
The colors look more vibrant and details look sharper in the video than I remember. New camera?
Now that you're a fellow Arizonian...you planning any meet and greets...?😁
Looks like all of the issues with the Defender have been taken care of.
Curious how the transition feels going to a right side drive vehicle.
Shifting with your left hand! All else the same!

How is the jeep going, still not working

What size and brand tires ?

When are you going to sell the Landy to me? 😂
That chest in the beginning do you sell it?

Hey Chris, how do you like that tent? I've never owned one from MSR.
Best tent I’ve ever owned.
Hola, muy buen video. Cual es la cámara que usas? La LR parece una miniatura!
Panasonic LUMIX! Espero que tengan un día increíble!
😮
And a RHD Defender ? you imported it in ?
Yep! Via Sonoran Rovers in Tucson (search for them here on UA-cam!)
@@venture4wd well done ! everyone is chasing those downunder
@@venture4wd It’d be interesting to know where it began its life?

Cosy tenting but you lack a dog - or a much larger deadcat...
Is that a dead rat on your dash?
