That's like his most normal obsession. I think it's safe to say that almost all of us are a little obsessed with KyoAni and would like to say their adaptation.
I honestly cried when Kobayashi S2 came out. Theyre still alive, they still got it.
It would be really cool if KyoAni made an anime adaptation of "Look Back", I feel like it would be as if the respect Fujimoto has for them was aknowledged and reciprocated

Possible. But, remember it’s a tribute to the dead and partly inspired by the Arson attack, so I don’t know how the staff can bare working on a project that reminds them heavily of the tragedy and the lost of some their close comrades.
Unless KyoAni becomes at the top of the production committee, it will not happen.

I can respect a man who respects Kyoani. They pay their artists hourly, like, the only animation studio to do so there. Angers me even more that all of those talented people got hurt.
Maybe this is why they were targeted?
@@TheSapphireLeo The arson attack? No. He got angry because some characters happened to share names of some of his characters from his novels. He was that petty.
Kyoani is the most respectable studio in japan. It was good to their female employees who had kids and promoted a good work and life balance. Japan needs to learn from them honestly.
Now i definitely have to get “Look Back”❤ I love Kyoto animation so much , it’s definitely my favorite anime studio of all time, with Violet Evergarden easily being my favorite series.

Everyone respects KyoAni just because they care about their artists' mental and physical health, which is somehow a luxury instead of a common thing.
Dont know why no one talks about this, but: Power and „Mirai“ from Kyoukai no Kanata (also KyoAni) have both the same haircolor and can fight with their blood.
I've seen many reviews of Look Back but this is the first time I've heard the story is correlating to KyoAni incident, interesting
i was not expecting this and was having hard time to stop me from bursting into tears, the attack took the lives of my fav animatiors and didn't knew that this manga was a tribute to them as i loved this one-shot and the ending was really sad, it hits really hard

Lookback seems too short, so i doubt it'll get anime adaptation

Ever since reading Look Back, I'd say Fukimoto has a massive respect for Kyoani

Two years on and we have seen the comeback of Kyoto Animation
They are still the same studio, but now with renewed talent, spirit, and hopefully, *Drive* to move forward.
The tragedy is Unforgettable, yes. But for them, its now a reminder.
Life is short. Live it to the fullest.
For those who left behind, those who leave us behind.. and those who we'll meet in the future.
....and yes, an adaptation of LookBack by KyoAni would be the perfect gift for him. No cap.

fujimoto's writing skill level definitely excelled during his one-shot phase, im really glad he decided to focus on his one-shots after CSM part 1 ended

I think Look Back wasn't just a tribute. In a interview soon after his france art exhibition, the interviewer states "Look Back also hints at the July 18, 2019, arson attack at Kyoto Animation Studio, in which 36 people died. Did he know any of the victims? The author refuses to speak on the subject." It was a very personal work, and in one of the one shot collections, he says he used Look Back to vent and process many feelings. It was a very personal work, and i dont believe was just a tribute, even though it is creepy to speculate on real people.
Fujimoto's love for movies isn't any revelation. It was already in the manga.

Fujimoto *created* the manga, not the anime adaptation. He took inspiration for his character designs primarily from series adapted by KyoAni when drawing Chainsaw Man. Really gotta listen better my dude 💀
