Hey Jeff, i don't know if you'll see this, but this will help you out signal wise, next time you play this:
Green over Red: Clear
Yellow over Red: Approach: Proceed, prepare to stop at next signal
Yellow over Green: Approach Medium- Proceed, approaching next signal not exceeding Medium Speed.
Yellow over Yellow: Advance Approach: Proceed, prepared to stop at second signal
Red over Green: Medium Clear- Medium Speed through turnouts, crossovers, sidings, and over power- operated switches; then proceed.
Red over Yellow: Medium Approach- Medium Speed through turnouts, crossovers. sidings and over power- operated switches; then proceed, prepared to stop at next signal
Red over Lunar: Restricting (if you see this)- Proceed at Restricted Speed
Red: Stop
Love this series, hope you see this, hope it helps!!
28:45 the pickup trucks were used by the "bulls" also known as yard security.
No, Its probably Shiey waiting for a train to hop XD
When you blow for a crossing the last long blast should be sounded until you have entered the crossing, FRA protocol
That's classic they did a good job on Cumberland looks very similar to how it looks in real life I'm from Cumberland an the trains go straight threw the town usually flying and blaring the horns at night even though there is supposed to be no horns. You know your from a small town when csx is one of the best jobs.
Also Jeff for the horn, if you complete the horn cycle before you cross the crossing you have to start over again with the horn. Essentially the horn has to keep blaring until the train has passed the crossing.
The speed limit signs that have 2 separate speeds divided by an line are the speeds for different trains. The top is for passenger and the bottom are for freight
In your video, you mentioned "79/ 50" I can answer that question. As a railfan the 79 is for your passenger trains such as Amtrak and your 50 is for your freight trains, and your signals like your yellow on top is called "Approach" 30 mph past the signal prepared to stop at the next signal for a safe stop.
you can't please everyone Jeff, it's annoying when people repeatedly keep leaving comments giving you shit for uploading something you want to upload. keep up with the great work man, I love these videos and the flight sim videos! they're amazing!
Thanks buddy :)
whats not to love about a giant piece of moving metal barreling down the track? You sir have earned a like!
I agree! Thanks man
My granny live's near the railroad and its just so cool to listen to the train 247 a day
My parents do too, you get used to it pretty quick
This is pretty cool. I live in Hyndman. It's a real small town and to be in a game is pretty cool
79/50. the top number is speed limit for passenger trains. the bottom number is the speed limit for freight trains. :)
11:05- The Narrows is a natural cut in between the mountains near Cumberland, Maryland. On the east side of the Narrows are the CSX lines, which you are on, and on the west side of The Narrows is the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. In the middle of The Narrows runs U.S. Route 40 and Wills Creek.
Right at Hyndman, the railroad curves toward the west and starts upgrade into the Allegheny Mountains. That's why it seems like the brakes are on, you're just moving uphill.
i am sure some one mentioned it before but the CSX Q116 is a real train and is really a stacker and if i recall that train actually go through my town on the garrett sub eastbound from chicago
I'm use to seeing the big old CW44's do helper service. Sucks to say that the days of Sand Patch may be numbered due to this new CEO of CSX. Abolishing trains, closing lines and storing power. You can't even see a SD40-2 to save your life anymore on CSX.
Jeff when the speed limit signs have two numbers, the top number is for passenger trains and the bottom is for freight. So 79/50 means Amtrak trains can go 79mph where CSX trains are limited to 50mph. This is mostly due to the weight of a freight train.
that makes more sense
Love the variety, keep it up Jeff. If you don't like the video then don't watch it..... no one forces you to watch the videos. Looking forward to more.
Jeff, the number on top is the passenger train speed limit and the bottom number is the freight train speed. Also when blowing the horn for crossings the last long horn should be held over the crossing
Loving the videos man!
Fav Train Sim World UA-camr
Holy shit! I've gotten into Polecat's, Zach's, Bugg's, and Jeff's videos under 300 views today haha... So happy lol
You don't need to use dynamic brake when stopping (Engine only) also the independent brake is used just for the locomotive set. Automatic brake is for entire consist. Also if you check out Danny Harmon from Distant signal, he has a UA-cam channel and he goes over what the signals and signs mean. It may help.
"ooo we got 35 coming up in a mile, pretty exciting stuff!" 12:20
Please do more. I can tell you enjoy this. And so do I.
2 dangerous derailments on this line recently. One with a chemical fire. Had to evacuate hyndman.
Three letter answer CSX
i am really enjoying some of these recent videos jeff
Jeff, as an engineer myself, dynamic brakes cause the traction motors to turn harder effectively slowing down the train. Under 6mph they become mostly ineffective so the automatic is used to set the brakes on the cars and independent for the motors to come to a complete stop.
Dynamic brakes are for the entire train, aren't they? Including cars? Sorry, I'm pretty fledgling when it comes to trains, my experience is limited to playing TS2017 and watching loads of train cartoons as a kid.
DarkHawkGames No dynamics are on the motors that when used creates a retarding force against the motor wheels making the harder to turn. This in turn causes the speed of the train to slow down. All cars are controlled by the automatic brake.
Ah, my mistake. How did you become a railway engineer, if you don't mind my asking?
I work for one of the Class 1 railroads in the US. A lot of hard work and determination. Promoted from Conductor.
What training did you have to take to get there? To conductor, I mean.
Thanks for the upload regardless of the frame rate ! Appreciate it.
Takes a couple seconds for dynamic braking to set up. If you look down at your ammeter, yellow is dynamic, green is power, red is too much power (engine really doesn't mind, but you are at risk of wheel slip). When dynamic comes on, you mustn't be in to much of it, engine will slow down quickly, cars will bunch up, slam you forward. Very violant. Set up position on dynamic is used to do just that, enough to get dynamic working without breaking anything.
After thought. Dynamics are most effective between like 40 and 10-15
It takes 8-10 seconds and the engine doesn’t care but the traction motor fuses do. Blowing the fuses on a moving train will take you out of service.
this game makes me remember why I don't work railroad. lol. all I can think about when he's leaving the yard is getting track warrants after toning up dispatch and having to do all the paperwork and repeating everything back to BNSF dispatch. It is crazy how detailed this game is tho.
79/50 Means 79 MPH for passenger trains due to the low amount of cars, so the time for the train to brake is less, and 50 MPH for freight due to the excessive weight. Yellow over green means "approach medium", which means do not exceed 45 MPH... The next signal will either be red over green or yellow. Yellow means "approach" not exceeding 30 MPH... Be prepared to stop at the next signal.
Hey jeff, I love this seris keep it up. I was Wondering if you could vist that ATC game again i loved watching you play it.
love the vids man
The locomotive bell sounds cool outside
Very educational. I love well done sim games. I'd expect a game like this to have frame rate issues same as ats with a huge trailer on it so looking at it I give it a legal 8/10 very enjoyable Jeff
I definitely like your videos on the train sim world videos, I definitely want to see more please
Dynamic brakes are used for slowing the train down, but if you rolling ony engines use locomotive brake
hey Jeff if u see the W sign it means to sound your horn for an oncoming crossing if u didn't already know, nvm u do know
Finally a youtuber that actually does it realistic and not use the emergency brake to always stop. What I'm looking for. I subscribed. Keep up the work
tvk-9cop dashcam Jeff is definitely known for his realism!!
Really good videos man.
Jeff you look awesome , that beard and ... thats so cool to see what you look like !!!
Hey jeff I don't know if you know this but when you start to move forward from a stop two short blasts and when you start to go backwards from a stop three horn blasts.
I love your channel man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice vid keep up the great work
I love you Jeff!!! I would love to do Code Zero with you and if it ever would happen, I would be honored to be playing CZP with BIG MAMAA JUUUJUUUU!!!
Great channel and videos and lovin the beard 👍🏾
Great stuff man, Like has already been answered about the speed limit signs. All I can add is I want some mouse settings too. I can't believe they didn't have that in the options from the start. Very annoying.
Use the independent when you make a joint 😂 you just spilt the coffee
Great video Jeff
For norfolk and southern trains, they do (for the horns) 2 long 3-6 short and 2 long, at least they do next to my house. The only traffic is feed and grain trucks.
FRA mandate for all grade crossings in the United States is 2 long, 1 short, then 1 long. The only exception is in quiet zones, where the bell is required.
2 long blasts of the horn then a short blast and then a long blast again through the crossings.....
He said that
I'm glad you're continuing with this series despite the poor performance of the game, Jeff. I really like it.
18:19 hes just mad that he isnt driving
OMFG SINCE WHEN IS JEFF BALD?!
Now whenever I see Jeff I picture that one scene from a spongebob movie where everyone goes BALD BALD BALD BALD MY EYES! LMAO
Jeff I love this series plz do more is this on Xbox
Love your Chanel I was trying to bye tickets to go to pax pat they ran out I live in Boston to see you or bump in to you
Brett Alameda train sim world is not for xbox
yellow signal means slow to 30 mph prepared to stop at next signal and the two speeds on the signs like 79 over 50 top number is passenger speed
The dynamic brake is not an engine compression brake. Dynamic braking effort is created by sending electrical current into the traction motor stator windings, converting the traction motor into a generator. The motor armature (DC) or commutator (AC) is driven by the locomotive wheels creating mechanical resistance which slows the train. The electrical current generated by the traction motor is sent to a steel resistor grid in the top of the locomotive long hood. A large fan dissipates the heat generated by the grid. The amount of dynamic braking depends of how much of the stator windings are energized
you know ur stuff Jeff
Jeff with the Dynamic brake when you turn it off it's off I feels like it's on cause you're on a 1.4% grade and you got to wait for the amps to get back up.
When you get yellow it means the next signal would most probably be red and yes you have to decrease your speed
You don’t have to. With light engines my independent has enough power to stop us within a few hundred feet at 25 mph.
not sure if you've notice of if the beta has fixed it, but anytime I've changed the anti-aliasing settings, it will always revert the other graphics settings to their default. very annoying when tinkering around with TAA or FXAA then have to go back and change everything else in a different menu back to what I want. But other than that, I appreciate the content you upload onto your channel and in many ways, has actually inspired me to create my own channel. So thank you Jeff.
keep this game going!
love all the sims!
Nice video Jeff
Please do more TSW: CSX. These great video.
I enjoy this
The switcher men look's like he's thinking of sleep haha
I love train sim works can you keep the video going
Hey Jeff, great video! Can you do a CHP traffic break like polcat did?
Wow, first time me seeing your face and it's from a 2017 video.
Plz do more vids on this Jeff!!!
Haha I just finished this scenario when you uploaded.
hey jeff on the train track the w sign tells you if there is a crossing half a mile down the track
Jeff, Does this game have a update? Will you bring it back to the channel?
Fresh Cut bro
You should do more scenarios Jeff
Can you just drive any train where ever or do you have to do scenarios
Btw you are going up a grade that's y your train is slowing down. Most grades humans can't see but if you find a 1 to 2 mile rail straight away and you look down it you will see the dip in rails.
hyndman is in Pennsylvania and close to where I live train tracks go right threw that town like in game. but only 2 tracks. unfortunately people have been actually hit by some of the trains there. How do you not see a big ass train. don't ask me , they go threw there every 15-20 minutes.
hey jeff in Ontario you have to use the horn for a bridge
Hi Jeff. I love your GTA 5 LSPDFR and this is how i found this vid. Im
loving the fact that you are doing a train sim, I hope you do this more
ofte n. If I can guide you in doing it more realistically I would love
to help you. For I use to be part owner of a shortline railroad, The
Battenkill Railroad, RR crossings are a horn blow of 2 long, a short and
a long happing tight when you hit the crossing, for example. when
starting and you release the brakes its 1 horn blast. I hope you do more
of these! BTW im terrible at these things, sorry for re-commenting.
79/50, means, that passenger train mainly amtrack can go 79.
I like these simulator types of videos.
I don't get why people complain. Sometimes you make videos I don't particularly want to watch. If that's the case I just don't watch them. No need to complain. It's Jeff Favignano's channel. Not mine. (Plus it's way more fun watching people play games because they personally enjoy them.)
I like these I wanna see more
Nice job
More csx trains🤩🤩🤩!
the top number is for passenger trains
It's a shame that you don't have train sims, flight sims etc. on console. Would be really nice if they release some of these games.
Well, Train Sim World is supposed to come to Xbox One according to the developer website but there is no timetable or potential release date and with it running like junk on PC it will probably be quite some time until it's on Xbox One.
Ramsfan09 yeah ok, they need to fix all the issues it has before they even release it to Xbox.
More love it more
The 79 over 50 is something with ur claim or descent on the hill
Do more of these
I like the video Jeff
The game looks way better than Train Simulator. Did they fix the problem with the amps meter? It gives indications only when you use the dynamic brake:( 5 scenarios 1 map is just an appetizer and a bite of cheese isn't? Can you play free roam mode?
Best game ever
This game looks like it has some potential, I think in the far future we could have online servers or something. What are you hoping for, Jeff?
That bald head and beard complement each other so great 😂🔥
haha thanks man
hey Jeff, does this game give you the ability to DP the locomotives? I noticed in your first vid it has the unit selector option above the fuse panel.
I like simulator games like this one.
Ellersille is junction in Flordia on CSx
