This is the only season where only AWC winning players were the ones to achieve glad 2 months into it, this has never happened before and Blizzard doing all those rating and mmr caps and shenanigans were the reason for it. I remember back in SL people (including me) used to get Glad week 1 if they were good enough, now we (multi glad players) are shitty Duelist players. I'm sorry I only PvP "for the fun of it" if I'm on the appropriate ranking
It's so obvious their current team just had PVP thrown at them with no clue how to handle it. The fact that they waited until 75% of SS players quit to fix the rating cap is insane. Now they have a 20 pt rating gain cap per blitz win too. They expect us to sit in 20 min queues at 1600 beating 2400 mmr teams for 19-20 rating and 58 conq.
@@williamromero6177 I'm a healer, but felt so bad for this warrior in my group who had sat in a 30 min queue just for our other healer to go to an inactive base in EOTS at the start. Even as a healer my queue times are 12-25 mins though.
Honestly, I think the best way to build up the PVP community is to focus on battlegrounds and building up the casual base again and then they would leak into 3v3 and 2v2

If you got 300 conq per bg win, arena would be dead over night. Blizzard are trying toooo hard to cater to a minor percentage of the player base.

Raids were super easy back in BFA, so Blizzard made raids really hard starting with Shadowlands, and people bailed. M+ was really easy back in Dragonflight, so Blizzard made M+ really hard starting with TWW, and people bailed. Blizzard's ultimate goal seems to be to drive people away from all content, and make the content accessible only to sweatlords.
Only clue they have is to sell the wow tokens by millions. Why do you think ingame chat is hyper spammed with boost run advertising. They create toxic content with raid and dungeon mechanics where 1 player can wipe the group. This result not increased team spirit but anxiety and toxicity. And ppl are tough to loot addiction until you cant get anymore. Then you buy the tokens and join boost runs. Blizzard say token was needed to fight the 3rd party gold sellers. Guess what the boosters sell the gold on 3rd party websites cheaper and faster than tokens. Most of wow economy is run by 3rd party and token gold becouse professions are worthless doesnt matter if you make or buy stuff from ah there is no profit unless you have all gathering and producing professions on multiple chars.

Worst part about blitz is bad brackets, you gain nothing when you have to high rating but lose alot if you lose. This should not be possible in my opinion. I'll happily play with noobs but not at the cost of my rating with nothing to gain.
This is just a problem with MMR, even in chess the players face the same concerns with losing ranking to players who are definitely capanle of winming, but are lower ranked.
Gate keeping is real, Even for you R1's half the spots are the same person on multiple Alts taking all the R1 where they have 2-3+ alts in the same and other classes.
Every spec (besides tanks) should have at least 10 R1 spots in shuffle. (This also is beneficial for people who play main specs, because fotm specs always have more spots) Such an easy improvement to implement
@@fogismaximus characaters on the same account cannot take up extra glad spots. The system just adds extra R1 spots if the same account has multiple characters at that rating.
Dude, I'm in the same situation as you, I play with friends and we've already caught A LOT of gladiators together, but today, 2 months after starting the season, we're banging our heads against the wall at 1950 or 2000 rating. It doesn't make sense!

Funniest part is when you face awc teams at 1600-1700. I still feel one of the biggest problem is cr gains with mmr. If you are playing 1000 mmr over your cr you should be getting big cr gains. I have seen people playing 1000 mmr higher and still get the same cr gains as if you were 100 mmr over. Getting 20 cr being 500-1000 mmr over your cr is the problem in my opinion.

@@Dgreatest32 It's not often but, it does happen. Definitely have played against a handful of people with r1 titles. I get it people play alts. The definite reality is every match past 1700 is pretty much all 2400xp players riding glad mounts.
What, if anything, can be done about this? You know what changes are needed. We know what changes are needed. they know it. but they just will not do it. It's been ages since these issues have been crumbling the pvp community, yet nothing is being done. LFG groups have vanished, rank 1 and multi-glads are terrorizing lower rated players on their 10th alts. It just feels like the best answer is to quit honestly.

Having to fight awc players to get our duelist weapons was the stopping point for the season. You can keep bootlicking though, you’re good at it.
this is very real, today I started the team as an alt (I'm mult-glad), and in the 1600 mmr I got several glads! Now imagine this for a pvp beginner? There's no sense of progression, the guy will just think he's shit and give up.

it's not just "the best players" its "the best players *of all time*" because they're the only ones still playing. they just need to move away from MMR entirely and move to a ladder system like in league of legends. Master > diamond > plat > gold > silver > bronze. Should all be relative to your peers in that sense. The question would be what % of players should be getting glad per season roughly? Somewhere around top 10%
league also has mmr just doesnt show it and divisions works almost just like rating, what we need is rewards not to be attached so much to rating that depends external factors like player population/blizz random caps, we should have every season something like a pvp renown system that can be achieved by both casuals and hardcores, and probably let rating go up until AWC players fight themselves at 3k mmr and let most hardcore around 2400 so glad mounts are somewhat achievable, and prob more mount recolors for blitz and shuffle,
The only real difference between LoL's and WoW's rank system is that WoW has visual rating that tries to match your MMR rating. LoL does the same except instead of showing 1800 rating on your 2v2 interface it says you're Gold 3 or something. I prefer WoW's more abstract and 'true' rating than LoL's obscured system.
@@QPoily it's all relative to the player base tho where as wow's is not. That's they key If a R1 is 2200 one season and 3100 another season then that's an issue. In LoL that player would just be Master Tier. Which is how it should be
Out of the top 20 characters in the US there are only 12 individual players. It averages out to around 30% of all characters in the top 100 are alts. This is a major issue.

the game is really in such a great spot which cant be glossed over. We finally can sit in the city and queue what we want without pressure to do pve, reps, etc. Thats why this whole rating issue is that much more perplexing because it seems like such an easy thing to fix after all the hard work has been done to fix the more major problems of the past.
I said it since shadowlands and will say it again: the mmr and reward system in wow needs a complete rework asap. They're basically discouraging people, even hardcore pvpers, to a point rn where they're just quitting pvp or even the game itself... they know this since years, but won't make any changes. I have the feeling it's on purpose, cuz they can't be that dumb and incompetent. Just my theory and 2 cents.

That system invites many boosters that literally destroy the ladder, Hearthstone is an exception because it isn't a team game. but for League of Legends every skilled player complains about the boosted players stuck in Diamond IV and have a much more enjoyable experience in Emerald I since those players are actually good.
Just add rewards to each bracket as they did in Shadowlands. They had a good system in shadowlands... and it worked.. there was alot of pve players who wanted to get some achievements and tmogs from shadowlands pvp
Agree with all of it. Complete rating overhaul is needed! Rewards need to be actually achievable by more casual players so more people want to play pvp. Tabards and titels for the best of the best. 'glad' mounts at 2100 throughout all brackets etc...
The fact that healing never got adjusted in blitz is just a testament that the devs do not play PvP at all. The strongest strategy to win blitz is to either ignore the team fight entirely, or have a DK drag a healer away from the team fight.

I super disagree with the take about rewards being the driver. Pvp has always been the game mode where people just play because they love the competition. What needs to change is the community's outlook towards flaming mistakes. All the gatekeepers pushed the newer, more casual players away with their toxicity and now they're all looking around complaining no one wants to play with them. Y'all did it to yourselves. You want activity to go up? Stop being so toxic when someone makes mistakes. None of us play perfect, without exception. Be more forgiving and you'll see the activity pick back up slowly over many months/years. And yes, ratings deflation should be corrected, but that's not the driver of why the pvp community is so small
I agree with this. I have devolved to having more fun in casual BGs with friends! The rewards seem more like a burden these days. I really feel that the competitive side of PvP could be helped by better rating and queuing systems. Looking for groups and getting rejected as a new or higher rank player has always left a bad taste in my mouth. It's hard to pick WoW PvP, sitting in a 20 min que for a short 3v3, over just playing another game that respects my time as a person more. I sink a ton of time in games, but the way I do it is different now and I don't feel respected by the current systems in my long beloved game WoW!
Nah thaths just partially true. The rating diff and not being able to get their rewards is def the core problem for 3s right now. And i was saying it back in DF already when it was literally the same issue. Not only do you have less participation bc most people give up before it has even started but the few left who try to progress will end up in huge toxicity just by nature as a result of this problem that creates this toxicity because people cant forgive mistakes because they can hardly climb and get anywhere near they want to be. It all snowballs. There were way more participation in PvP (3s) etc when PvE'ers needed to do PvP in order to get some gear from PvP. That was the case in some Xpac i remember at the start of SL for example. We need those PvE'ers back in PvP for a healthier PvP mmr. Idk how much Blizzard can do about the Rating/Mrr if theres not much participation but they definetly did some mistakes that lead to the current situation.
I was about to say that arena players aren't that toxic, but then I remember how plenty of arena streamers like to go full on trash talk mode about their teammates, especially in solo shuffle. Honestly, it feels like Solo Shuffle introduced more toxicity into WoW PvP than there was before. At least before the expectation of using voice was there and helped curb most of the little trash talkers from talking shit.

Also started to notice, i'm 1900-2000 on two shuffle characters, I wait 25 min for a que when I get in there's a 600 demo lock and a 947 CR healer or something and it completely skews the game. Either they're hard losing or a full smurf and either way you're usually going 3-3 or losing rating... can't even field an across the board 1900 cr shuff game
I've enjoyed blitz the most, because I can actually get the rewards. Every time I step into arena it's just a huge drag, knowing that if I want to get the top end rewards via arena, I'll literally have to be facing AWC teams/players. This is NOT how the system should be. Access to rewards brings in players! I think we're nearing the final nail in the coffin for casual PvPers transitioning into rated content. Blitz is a step in the right direction, but I'm worried they're going to cap MMR next season like every other mode and prevent players from getting the top end rewards. I'll stay optimistic, but Blizzards track record with PvP lately has not been good, so I'm not expecting much. Very sad.
Its not that they're quitting... Ban's are also up 2000%. Been playing this game since OG TBC, and never had bans, but have received two bans (14 day, then 21 day) for things such as "Why are you in mid". People are abusing the report system and blizz won't appeal any of the tickets. 4 of my friends all have received bans in the past month for very minor chat offenses.
"Team Building Fun" in 3v3 no longer exists.... People don't have friends anymore and we all want to play when we can. Solo shuffle needs to switch to 1 round and we will see SO MANY MORE PLAYERS. CHANGE SOLO SHUFFLE TO 1 ROUND ONLY! Bad RnG group? Too bad, it's over after one round and reque....

Appreciate you making this video Ven! I uninstalled TWW after the most recent PvP update shortly after the drop of 11.0.5 because I had a 3 part realization: A.) Blizzard consistently struggles with PvP balancing to a point where there is always a true small group of “meta” specs and classes, B.) PvP gearing is in the best place its ever been in WoW history, completely removing barrier to entry for gearing alts fast, and C.) leveling alts is arguably the fastest its ever been to max level. This has created an environment where PvPers can capitalize on the regular imbalance of the PvP meta rapidly, filling up lower-to-mid tier MMR brackets with whatever is currently the best class, making the game increasingly difficult unless you join them. I told myself I will not re-install until one of the three components to this problem is fixed. Looking forward to seeing a video from you soon telling us to come back!
PvP Mount change idea here 1600 Yellow Mount 1800 Purple Mount 2000 Green Mount 2200 Red Mount 2400 Golden Mount Rank 1 title still 0.5% in 3v3 All mount colors can be earned in ANY Solo bracket, RBG’s, and 3v3…You can also earn all colors in 2v2 except 2400…Blizz needs to make a solid/cool looking mount every PvP season, and that will incentivize players to stick around to earn various colors of that mount… We all wanted that Rank 1 Red PvP mount from Dragon Flight S1 …As it stands now, I know I’ll NEVER get a gladiator mount… So I give up after reaching 1800 each season, and that’s one less person queuing in the ladder part of the season… As a boomer gamer dad and having a lot more gaming option now, having mounts I can farm for would keep me and other people motivated longer in each season for goals that are actually obtainable…Instead of just the top 0.5% of the player base
I spent two hours for a rated bg que to pop. Only for our team to get absolutely smoked and my rating left unchanged. Not to mention the negligible amount of conquest points you get to even try and gear up. It’s not hard to figure out whats wrong with pvp unfortunately.
No, just the sweatlords do. PVP will always be about asserting dominance on the other bastard, preferably in a 1v1 situation with equal gear and skill and in the most humiliating way possible, and Blizzard can't do anything to change that experience lest remove PVP entirely. The sweatlords and ratings chasers are what's wrong with PVP in this game and in every game that has PVP. I always hate it how the PVP experience in a newly released game is so fun until the sweatlords arrive and then it turns into a meta-chasing cringefest of tryharding and smurfing and the game starts getting balanced to cater not to the vast majority of players engaged in PVP, but to the 1% of players who are sweatlords and tryhards. So GOOD RIDDANCE, I say.
if you spend even 10% of your "Playtime" in queues it raises question of wasting time. There are so many games where you press button and get into a match near instantly.

I play pvp ALL THE TIME! i quit in wod came back in DF season 1 and have gotten elite in almost every season continuing into TWW im currently 2050 on my main and ive yet to obtain glad, not because i dont play its just hard to 1, find a good team, and 2 the rating is exaclty what youre speaking on impossible to obtain. i literally got to 1800 in ss first week and quit because i was matching NOTHING BUT GLADS the whole time! i come back once i heard they gave ss a mmr boost and yeah now im back to same thing! why even play at the start of a season if i cant obtain all the rewards! its been my goal to get glad the last year ive played and yeah just seems impossible for the even above average player!
My "giving up" is timed to the rest of my current sub. ends this month, if they don't announce a massive MMR injection (like 500+ rating or something completely stupid in 3s) I am done with the expansion. Already got Elite, already got Grand Marshall, don't care about farming Strategist or Legend - Only glad. If Glad remains reserved for AWC players, I won't come back.
Gladiator should be out of reach for most. And to be clear when he said back in the day arena was only the top .5% he was right but there were a ton of battlegroups it wasn't as hard to get as he is making it out to be.

I agree and have been vocal about this since Legion / Pre-Patch BFA (when rated rewards changed to the current hard rating threshold reward structure): Adding more incentive to playing other brackets would be a massive boon. Rewards that are account wide and earnable from all brackets cause everyone to flock to whichever mode has the most efficient acquisition. Some people I know and have played with say the rewards should be more exclusive to make the reward feel more unique/valuable (old-school game design), but I feel that having a wider variety of rewards across the different thresholds and brackets is better for the overall health of PvP. Shifting rewards further and further down the ladder is a good "bandage solution", but it leads to the current issue: low incentive to push for higher rating when it seemingly is an unreachable goal and not worth the effort/attempt. I think Gladiator should be achievable in both 2s and 3s, whereas solo shuffle and blitz should award an equivalent type of mount reward (either a recolor or their own seasonal model that gets reskinned and recolored every season) so that there is a unique capstone difference between solo and premade group PvP. Additionally Blizzard really needs to do away with rating throttling via MMR because as Venruki has pointed out time and time again, MMR incentivizes existing within a season instead of actively playing throughout the season; hurting active seasonal participation as well as motivation for average players to try or participate in PvP. If Blizzard needs any ideas for new rewards to potentially include here are a few: faction / armor type sets to be unlocked from rated 10v10 and blitz, token to unlock previously available seasonal rewards (perhaps only 1 per account per season to avoid the same issue that occurred in BFA where PvPers would accumulate a max of 8 vicious saddles per season), prestige banners similar to those given from the seasonal legend achievement and honor levels (originally added via the prestige system during Legion), an expansion themed version of the artifact weapons to provide a class specific flare reward, seasonal toys such as the flag of ownership, non armor type specific armor cosmetics, faction themed / seasonal hearth stones, and warband login screens.
Blizzaaard never understand this. We have +3K 3S xp RLD team, (I'm first time rog, Multi R1 Warrrior) we are sitting at 2.3cr rn, facing with only Multi R1 players, i mean full Multi R1 teams, not only 1 rank 1, 2 glad etc. This game is complately dead about pvp, no one can push. Meta is also stupid people abusing BloodDk+BmHunter+MistMonk. They didnt nerf BM, didnt nerf Frost Mage, didnt nerf Evoker sustain damage or mobility, didnt nerf mage, didnt nerf feral, didnt buff warrior, didnt buff enha defensive, didnt buff boomy defensive, didnt buff restro druid, didnt buff restro shaman, didnt buff dk, they overtune unh nerf need %5 buff minimum, they didnt buff dh, didnt buff fire mage, mmr is garbage people keep quiting. Absolutely terrible managing. Amazin bad manage again and again and again.
My problem is how wildly long it takes to get conquest compared to honor. You have to wait significantly longer to play, so you can earn significantly less currency... Blizzard does it to themselves. I remember reaching my conquest cap back in MoP on my monk in a few hours, after having a HUGE cap. You used to get so much conquest per win back then, it was awesome. Now I have to wait for shuffle to pop, win most matches and get like 100 and something conquest. It is crazy.
I mean its pretty bad atm, exclusively. Look how long BM hunters are just ruining the experience for others. Yet blizzard is so slow to react, its just left alone. Whatever manager, or system they use for "Balancing" Clearly needs to be more correctly addressed because this themetic happens every patch, every xpac, they need to stop being lazy
@@fullmetalscotsman1306 BM is just the current class with the outrageous issue. It changes per xpac/patch of course. But has no reason to last so long without being brought in line. Classes should have gives and takes. If you're a ranged class, who has the advantage of using ranged and Pets, (Melee and Range) With a mortal strike. While also having amazing mobility and surviability. Its a god class. Ontop of this, normally if a class like this existed, the trade off would need to be "extremely high skill cap to play" but of course, BM hunter is the lowest of the low in terms of mechanical skill.
i Canceled my membership yesterday, i won't give them my money for the terrible pvp state we have with 0 fix and ultra op classes versus ultra undertuned classes.
Here’s the thing with rating. 3s and 2s are dead in comparison to solo. Everyone thinks they want Blizz to “fix” rating, but if they make changes to address the rating it will spread the ready abysmal average of about 12-15k games per day across that much more of a spread. We end up right where we were in DF which was rank 1, streamers, glads all farming alts to stay at 1600-1700 and ruin peoples experience. All the problems actually get worse and pika is playing rogue for life in 1800 lobbies.
Wow pvp is done anyway, every addon/season same shit problems. Give it up and enjoy other games who are worth your time. I hit my elite and im done, the queue times make me just sick and zhe balance is horrible
I haven’t felt the need to push at all this season. I basically just do enough solo shuffle to keep my gear up to date and am waiting out the end of the season to do my 2400 push.
I just don't like playing against rank 1 players as a casual player. Never happened in any other game only wow. I have bumped into many top tier players while geared in honor gear getting stomped because they are boosting a character
I was talking to my mate about this and I feel like one of the things that sucks is that no one uses trade chat to find team mates anymore. Which is a big deal for oceanic players because there is a lot of people who want to pvp but go to lfg and see no one quing and just give up but I would bet that if you made a new chat where people can't advertise people would start quing more at oce times and that connection to players on your realm would come back
Ven you probably won’t see this, but I’ve considered making a UA-cam video myself but then I get discouraged thinking nobody will see it. I have a few fixes curious to get your opinion on. As you pointed out there are 3600 3s games played compared to 10x that in SS. Don’t you think that were just spread too thin and that’s why MMR continues to stagnate? I believe we need to get rid of SS, Blitz, add solo queue to 2s/3s//RBG. Meaning you can queue solo or in groups for any PvP content. Just like most other matchmaking games. This would incentivize team play but also make it accessible for all. A reason the queue times are so long is that you’re waiting for SIX matches to occur. With the above mentioned you’d be waiting on 1 game to occur. Thoughts?!?
Yeah, I've seen rets (just on example) pressing no BoP, Sacrifice, Freedom or Sanctuary and go 6:0 in some SS lobbies. It has been all about damage lately.
i think one of the biggest things they could do is make it to where u get seasonal mount or transmog when you hit maybe 500 rating then when you hit 1000 rating you get something else if the provide more rewards to players earlier in rating they will more then likely want to continue playing. the reason i got into pep was for the saddle mount is had miss and making me have to farm the current season then get a saddle afterword's is a lot of effort so they could also allow you to pick but just some thoughts
yup i stopped playing just over a week ago... que times ... just so annoying not worth waiting... try to play a diff game while waiting or just do other stuff and sometimes miss que.. just yawn
2s bracket is in absolute shambles. On EU at ~2K cr, end of week 8, that is top 2.2% of the ladder. Absurd. 2400 isn't even obtainable in that bracket really, 13 characters are over 2400 in 2s as we speak - 11 accounts (2 are alts of the same person). 6 specs represented in those 13 slots.
You mean the rewards that are meant to be hard to get are actually hard??? Shocker! For real tho, game has never been easier. Frankly it's where it should be only a small portion of the community should be able to get 2400. Any other take is just cope.
this is absolutely braindead. im a 15xglad and 4xR1... currently the only players with glad this season are ALL R1 players. It should not be impossible to get glad unless you're on par with AWC players. Odds are you've never been 2400 and are projecting as if you have been, because nobody has this take thats actually up at 2500-2700 right now.

They've lowered the requirement of EVERY rated reward. Elite sets were 2.2, they lowered it to 2k then 1800. Glad mounts are given away for free now Enchant is 1950 (Was 2700, then 2400 then 2100) By every metric these rewards are easier to get. You're probably just a salty 1400 andy.

I quit wow PVP early Dragon Flight, I forced myself to push 2100 with my priest and I was so glad to get it over with, haven’t PvPd since and I’ve been enjoying pve and getting rewards and leveling new characters.
I endured way too much frustration, i gave up 3 weeks ago and just thinking that i have to log up and wait 20-30 mins to even play just to get fucked by ferals or rogues or sp or an npc bm hunt and just to get stuck at 2200 till they think that its time to let some people progress deters me from even opening the battle app, its all a waste of time with no fun at all. And as a surv hunter i had to wait 1.5 months to even get core mechanics fixed, that company does not deserve a cent nor a minute from me or other players that used to love the pvp experience
Honestly, they should just create a PvP realm or instances where you can only queue with one character of each spec, fully geared, no enchants or gems-just pure gameplay with cosmetics and pride rewards. Sure, Timmy might miss out on his big gear advantage to stomp PvE boys in non-rated BGs, but that’s okay. 😂 Why am I spending time healing damage dealers who seem clueless, facing the fifth Holy Paladin reroll of some rank one player at 1600, just to go 3-3 and gain absolutely zero points? Then getting trashtalked by those same damage dealers with gems like, “lol, 300 games and still 1600.” My MMR has been messed up since day one, when healers were hard-stuck at that rating and even rank ones were sitting at 1700-1800. It was totally broken. So, I swapped to playing damage dealer, and boom-hit 1800-1900 in a single day. Aside from the long queues, it was way easier to climb. That’s just the nature of arenas: as a healer, you face only one other healer, but as a damage dealer, you’re competing with three others. I regularly go 4-2 or 5-1 as a damage dealer, whereas as a healer, I’m doomed to 3-3. I can’t get past 2k without sweating it out, and I have a life-I don’t want to keep facing the 10th alt of some AWC champion at 1600 in shuffle. When I actually face people in my own league, I go 5-1 or 6-0. But then I go 3-3 or 2-4 against rank ones and slowly bleed rating, since that’s who I queue into most of the time. I even kept an Excel sheet at the start of the season, and more than half of my opponents at 1600 were R1 healers. How are mere mortals supposed to climb when every time we queue up, we’re up against pros who literally make a living off this game?
What they need to do is detach PvE and PvP class kits/specs, talents, and spells, and make healers heal less and being able only to sustain HP a little bit not to heal from 0% to 100% in seconds. Make a brand new class kit for each spec specifically for PvP and make it feel more like MOBA in BGs instead of Zerging.. There is just too much CC, and healers are also making PvP unfun. You almost kill someone 3 times but he is healed back up to full hp in seconds and then you die even though you would already defeat that person 3x if it wasn't for the healing. Each class and spec should have like 3-4 DPS spells, 1 defensive spell, 1 CC. Healers additionally 1 dispel, 1 single target heal, and maybe 1 HoT/AoE heal spell on longer cooldown. PvP using PvE class kits is just too advanced and too complicated for majority of players so PvP in WoW will never be popular as long as playing it is this hard. Classes in PvP need to be very simplistic. There is a reason why in PvP focused MMOs and MOBAs you only get a few spells.
3 things I think can save rated pvp, 1: more rewards for healer (the long queues are because we don't have enough of them) something as simple as they get a slightly high mmr climb. 2: Give 2's a unique reward, this is the lowest barrier to entry and is by far the slowest bracket great to let people learn in, 3: yeah just let the mmr climb faster so people can get there goals and feel they can even play alt to that lvl too, season where is was high i pushed alot more on multiple toons.
Blizzard needs to track & adjust inflation accordingly. Having a glad mount people are excited for to sure helps to, which isn’t really the case this season. So people just hitting up blitz and will just use their Legion or Dragonflight glad mounts, till a cool one is put out there to draw in more players. Part of the problem about the current system is, when not enough people are playing in a given season, suddenly it’s multi glads fighting for just duelist 2100… for like the first month or two. But here we are 8 weeks in with inflation in 3v3. Almost a full 1000 rating lower blitz/solo shuffle (where everyone is playing atm). Most of us honestly lost our awesome pvp friends… and pve’ers don’t really want to ever play when I ask them , they have mythic plus keys to run… so now just wandering around town alone but wanting to pvp with people hopefully around one’s given skill level… so only options are solo shuffle or blitz. Because that’s where the bulk of the pvper’s are. You seen the rated bg search? There’s fucking 6 dudes selling RBG rating (how that’s still a thing idk), and maybe two to three yolo’s and all but one will likely be 2100+ only players allowed. Something to that extent…. For a person trying to get into pvp; the only shows in town are solo shuffle and blitz atm…. The rated bg scene has been on the decline, but solo rated blitz really took a huge amount of those players…
I've only pushed gladiator 2 times, in shadowlands S1 and S2. I had more free time and there were a lot of people playing, which meant more inflation but also more groups to join / play with. Imho there are 2 main concerns blizzard should have: - make playing the game fun (even for healers, which often act as a bottleneck to the amount of groups available) - make it rewarding, maybe create more coloration of the glad mount and release one at a more accessible rating and another one at the current rating. Possibly re-introduce some old pvp sets (maybe with a 1 token per account per season that you can earn to unlock 1 old set) or some old glad mounts (through some hard process, maybe only the ones that came with the new 2400+ system rather than the .5%) or some cool weapon illusions (feels like the best weapon illusion is still the one from mop, how hard can it be to make something that looks as good as that?) I expect nothing though, I feel like whoever is in charge of the pvp side of things is fine with how things are and only has an emergency button to inject some mmr / remove conq cap whenever participation drops even lower than usual
20+ min queue is so freaking rough. Finding regular 3s takes just as long if not longer. I have had so much fun when I actually get to play, but the problem is I don't get to play 80% of the time im in game. Sad but I'm likely done.

This is the only season where only AWC winning players were the ones to achieve glad 2 months into it, this has never happened before and Blizzard doing all those rating and mmr caps and shenanigans were the reason for it. I remember back in SL people (including me) used to get Glad week 1 if they were good enough, now we (multi glad players) are shitty Duelist players. I'm sorry I only PvP "for the fun of it" if I'm on the appropriate ranking

It's so obvious their current team just had PVP thrown at them with no clue how to handle it.
The fact that they waited until 75% of SS players quit to fix the rating cap is insane. Now they have a 20 pt rating gain cap per blitz win too. They expect us to sit in 20 min queues at 1600 beating 2400 mmr teams for 19-20 rating and 58 conq.

Keystone master has been made substantially easier over the past couple of year. Getting gladiator is more and more difficult every season.
Raids were super easy back in BFA, so Blizzard made raids really hard starting with Shadowlands, and people bailed.
M+ was really easy back in Dragonflight, so Blizzard made M+ really hard starting with TWW, and people bailed.
Blizzard's ultimate goal seems to be to drive people away from all content, and make the content accessible only to sweatlords.

They create toxic content with raid and dungeon mechanics where 1 player can wipe the group. This result not increased team spirit but anxiety and toxicity. And ppl are tough to loot addiction until you cant get anymore. Then you buy the tokens and join boost runs. Blizzard say token was needed to fight the 3rd party gold sellers. Guess what the boosters sell the gold on 3rd party websites cheaper and faster than tokens. Most of wow economy is run by 3rd party and token gold becouse professions are worthless doesnt matter if you make or buy stuff from ah there is no profit unless you have all gathering and producing professions on multiple chars.

Also we arent talking about coaching sessions. Most people dont need coaching sessions, they need competent people to play with. The amount of people that give up on pvp because their only experience in non shuffle/blitz pvp is the toxicity and horrid level of lfg is something to take into consideration. That aint blizzards fault. That is 100% the players fault. They can't do more than give you a way to try and get teammates.
And when you got a platform, skills, a long list of competent teammates and over 10 hours a day because you are a streamer, so basically unemployed, you can't complain that pvp is dieing, when all you do is play with the same people all day so you can namedrop them in your next video taken unedited from your stream.
Especially if you are actively trying to make a living out of it. Because neither awc nor streaming nor content are going to get your far when it only appeals to 50 people.
I tried for over a hour to find a healer in 2s. Found one. faced a rank 1 streamer in 1600mmr. easy lost. and healer left.

Worst part about blitz is bad brackets, you gain nothing when you have to high rating but lose alot if you lose. This should not be possible in my opinion. I'll happily play with noobs but not at the cost of my rating with nothing to gain.

This is just a problem with MMR, even in chess the players face the same concerns with losing ranking to players who are definitely capanle of winming, but are lower ranked.
Gate keeping is real, Even for you R1's half the spots are the same person on multiple Alts taking all the R1 where they have 2-3+ alts in the same and other classes.
Every spec (besides tanks) should have at least 10 R1 spots in shuffle. (This also is beneficial for people who play main specs, because fotm specs always have more spots)

Funniest part is when you face awc teams at 1600-1700. I still feel one of the biggest problem is cr gains with mmr. If you are playing 1000 mmr over your cr you should be getting big cr gains. I have seen people playing 1000 mmr higher and still get the same cr gains as if you were 100 mmr over. Getting 20 cr being 500-1000 mmr over your cr is the problem in my opinion.

Definitely have played against a handful of people with r1 titles. I get it people play alts. The definite reality is every match past 1700 is pretty much all 2400xp players riding glad mounts.
What, if anything, can be done about this? You know what changes are needed. We know what changes are needed. they know it. but they just will not do it. It's been ages since these issues have been crumbling the pvp community, yet nothing is being done. LFG groups have vanished, rank 1 and multi-glads are terrorizing lower rated players on their 10th alts. It just feels like the best answer is to quit honestly.

this is very real, today I started the team as an alt (I'm mult-glad), and in the 1600 mmr I got several glads! Now imagine this for a pvp beginner? There's no sense of progression, the guy will just think he's shit and give up.

it's not just "the best players" its "the best players *of all time*" because they're the only ones still playing.
they just need to move away from MMR entirely and move to a ladder system like in league of legends. Master > diamond > plat > gold > silver > bronze.

The question would be what % of players should be getting glad per season roughly? Somewhere around top 10%
league also has mmr just doesnt show it and divisions works almost just like rating, what we need is rewards not to be attached so much to rating that depends external factors like player population/blizz random caps, we should have every season something like a pvp renown system that can be achieved by both casuals and hardcores, and probably let rating go up until AWC players fight themselves at 3k mmr and let most hardcore around 2400 so glad mounts are somewhat achievable, and prob more mount recolors for blitz and shuffle,
The only real difference between LoL's and WoW's rank system is that WoW has visual rating that tries to match your MMR rating.
LoL does the same except instead of showing 1800 rating on your 2v2 interface it says you're Gold 3 or something.
I prefer WoW's more abstract and 'true' rating than LoL's obscured system.

the game is really in such a great spot which cant be glossed over. We finally can sit in the city and queue what we want without pressure to do pve, reps, etc. Thats why this whole rating issue is that much more perplexing because it seems like such an easy thing to fix after all the hard work has been done to fix the more major problems of the past.

I said it since shadowlands and will say it again: the mmr and reward system in wow needs a complete rework asap. They're basically discouraging people, even hardcore pvpers, to a point rn where they're just quitting pvp or even the game itself... they know this since years, but won't make any changes. I have the feeling it's on purpose, cuz they can't be that dumb and incompetent. Just my theory and 2 cents.

That system invites many boosters that literally destroy the ladder, Hearthstone is an exception because it isn't a team game. but for League of Legends every skilled player complains about the boosted players stuck in Diamond IV and have a much more enjoyable experience in Emerald I since those players are actually good.

Just add rewards to each bracket as they did in Shadowlands. They had a good system in shadowlands... and it worked.. there was alot of pve players who wanted to get some achievements and tmogs from shadowlands pvp

The fact that healing never got adjusted in blitz is just a testament that the devs do not play PvP at all. The strongest strategy to win blitz is to either ignore the team fight entirely, or have a DK drag a healer away from the team fight.

it's so messed, I'm main healer this seasson to get faster queues, in shuffle I burn everycd, cc, play around pillar, trying to the the basics, and in 1600 people still insta die. EVERY TIME, it's insta die, and them people rage on me and all, but wtf 1600 people doing dmg like 2400, it feels super hard to play =-=

I super disagree with the take about rewards being the driver. Pvp has always been the game mode where people just play because they love the competition. What needs to change is the community's outlook towards flaming mistakes. All the gatekeepers pushed the newer, more casual players away with their toxicity and now they're all looking around complaining no one wants to play with them.
Y'all did it to yourselves. You want activity to go up? Stop being so toxic when someone makes mistakes. None of us play perfect, without exception. Be more forgiving and you'll see the activity pick back up slowly over many months/years.
And yes, ratings deflation should be corrected, but that's not the driver of why the pvp community is so small
I agree with this. I have devolved to having more fun in casual BGs with friends! The rewards seem more like a burden these days.
I really feel that the competitive side of PvP could be helped by better rating and queuing systems. Looking for groups and getting rejected as a new or higher rank player has always left a bad taste in my mouth.
It's hard to pick WoW PvP, sitting in a 20 min que for a short 3v3, over just playing another game that respects my time as a person more. I sink a ton of time in games, but the way I do it is different now and I don't feel respected by the current systems in my long beloved game WoW!

Nah thaths just partially true. The rating diff and not being able to get their rewards is def the core problem for 3s right now. And i was saying it back in DF already when it was literally the same issue. Not only do you have less participation bc most people give up before it has even started but the few left who try to progress will end up in huge toxicity just by nature as a result of this problem that creates this toxicity because people cant forgive mistakes because they can hardly climb and get anywhere near they want to be. It all snowballs. There were way more participation in PvP (3s) etc when PvE'ers needed to do PvP in order to get some gear from PvP. That was the case in some Xpac i remember at the start of SL for example. We need those PvE'ers back in PvP for a healthier PvP mmr. Idk how much Blizzard can do about the Rating/Mrr if theres not much participation but they definetly did some mistakes that lead to the current situation.
I was about to say that arena players aren't that toxic, but then I remember how plenty of arena streamers like to go full on trash talk mode about their teammates, especially in solo shuffle.
Honestly, it feels like Solo Shuffle introduced more toxicity into WoW PvP than there was before. At least before the expectation of using voice was there and helped curb most of the little trash talkers from talking shit.

Also started to notice, i'm 1900-2000 on two shuffle characters, I wait 25 min for a que when I get in there's a 600 demo lock and a 947 CR healer or something and it completely skews the game. Either they're hard losing or a full smurf and either way you're usually going 3-3 or losing rating... can't even field an across the board 1900 cr shuff game
I've enjoyed blitz the most, because I can actually get the rewards. Every time I step into arena it's just a huge drag, knowing that if I want to get the top end rewards via arena, I'll literally have to be facing AWC teams/players. This is NOT how the system should be. Access to rewards brings in players! I think we're nearing the final nail in the coffin for casual PvPers transitioning into rated content. Blitz is a step in the right direction, but I'm worried they're going to cap MMR next season like every other mode and prevent players from getting the top end rewards. I'll stay optimistic, but Blizzards track record with PvP lately has not been good, so I'm not expecting much. Very sad.

Its not that they're quitting... Ban's are also up 2000%. Been playing this game since OG TBC, and never had bans, but have received two bans (14 day, then 21 day) for things such as "Why are you in mid". People are abusing the report system and blizz won't appeal any of the tickets. 4 of my friends all have received bans in the past month for very minor chat offenses.

Appreciate you making this video Ven! I uninstalled TWW after the most recent PvP update shortly after the drop of 11.0.5 because I had a 3 part realization: A.) Blizzard consistently struggles with PvP balancing to a point where there is always a true small group of “meta” specs and classes, B.) PvP gearing is in the best place its ever been in WoW history, completely removing barrier to entry for gearing alts fast, and C.) leveling alts is arguably the fastest its ever been to max level. This has created an environment where PvPers can capitalize on the regular imbalance of the PvP meta rapidly, filling up lower-to-mid tier MMR brackets with whatever is currently the best class, making the game increasingly difficult unless you join them. I told myself I will not re-install until one of the three components to this problem is fixed. Looking forward to seeing a video from you soon telling us to come back!

All mount colors can be earned in ANY Solo bracket, RBG’s, and 3v3…You can also earn all colors in 2v2 except 2400…Blizz needs to make a solid/cool looking mount every PvP season, and that will incentivize players to stick around to earn various colors of that mount… We all wanted that Rank 1 Red PvP mount from Dragon Flight S1 …As it stands now, I know I’ll NEVER get a gladiator mount… So I give up after reaching 1800 each season, and that’s one less person queuing in the ladder part of the season… As a boomer gamer dad and having a lot more gaming option now, having mounts I can farm for would keep me and other people motivated longer in each season for goals that are actually obtainable…Instead of just the top 0.5% of the player base

I spent two hours for a rated bg que to pop. Only for our team to get absolutely smoked and my rating left unchanged. Not to mention the negligible amount of conquest points you get to even try and gear up. It’s not hard to figure out whats wrong with pvp unfortunately.
No, just the sweatlords do. PVP will always be about asserting dominance on the other bastard, preferably in a 1v1 situation with equal gear and skill and in the most humiliating way possible, and Blizzard can't do anything to change that experience lest remove PVP entirely.
The sweatlords and ratings chasers are what's wrong with PVP in this game and in every game that has PVP. I always hate it how the PVP experience in a newly released game is so fun until the sweatlords arrive and then it turns into a meta-chasing cringefest of tryharding and smurfing and the game starts getting balanced to cater not to the vast majority of players engaged in PVP, but to the 1% of players who are sweatlords and tryhards.

if you spend even 10% of your "Playtime" in queues it raises question of wasting time. There are so many games where you press button and get into a match near instantly.
Return of Reckoning, a Warhammer online private server has like a 3 minute battleground queue if that by comparison.

I play pvp ALL THE TIME! i quit in wod came back in DF season 1 and have gotten elite in almost every season continuing into TWW im currently 2050 on my main and ive yet to obtain glad, not because i dont play its just hard to 1, find a good team, and 2 the rating is exaclty what youre speaking on impossible to obtain. i literally got to 1800 in ss first week and quit because i was matching NOTHING BUT GLADS the whole time! i come back once i heard they gave ss a mmr boost and yeah now im back to same thing! why even play at the start of a season if i cant obtain all the rewards! its been my goal to get glad the last year ive played and yeah just seems impossible for the even above average player!

My "giving up" is timed to the rest of my current sub. ends this month, if they don't announce a massive MMR injection (like 500+ rating or something completely stupid in 3s) I am done with the expansion. Gladiator should be out of reach for most. And to be clear when he said back in the day arena was only the top .5% he was right but there were a ton of battlegroups it wasn't as hard to get as he is making it out to be.
0.5 of 100 battlegroups is the same as if its 0.5 of 1 battlegroup. if you have 1m players in 1 bgrp or 100k ea in 10 bgrps its still 0.5% of 1m

I agree and have been vocal about this since Legion / Pre-Patch BFA (when rated rewards changed to the current hard rating threshold reward structure): Adding more incentive to playing other brackets would be a massive boon. Rewards that are account wide and earnable from all brackets cause everyone to flock to whichever mode has the most efficient acquisition. Some people I know and have played with say the rewards should be more exclusive to make the reward feel more unique/valuable (old-school game design), but I feel that having a wider variety of rewards across the different thresholds and brackets is better for the overall health of PvP. Shifting rewards further and further down the ladder is a good "bandage solution", but it leads to the current issue: low incentive to push for higher rating when it seemingly is an unreachable goal and not worth the effort/attempt. I think Gladiator should be achievable in both 2s and 3s, whereas solo shuffle and blitz should award an equivalent type of mount reward (either a recolor or their own seasonal model that gets reskinned and recolored every season) so that there is a unique capstone difference between solo and premade group PvP. Additionally Blizzard really needs to do away with rating throttling via MMR because as Venruki has pointed out time and time again, MMR incentivizes existing within a season instead of actively playing throughout the season; hurting active seasonal participation as well as motivation for average players to try or participate in PvP. If Blizzard needs any ideas for new rewards to potentially include here are a few: faction / armor type sets to be unlocked from rated 10v10 and blitz, token to unlock previously available seasonal rewards (perhaps only 1 per account per season to avoid the same issue that occurred in BFA where PvPers would accumulate a max of 8 vicious saddles per season), prestige banners similar to those given from the seasonal legend achievement and honor levels (originally added via the prestige system during Legion), an expansion themed version of the artifact weapons to provide a class specific flare reward, seasonal toys such as the flag of ownership, non armor type specific armor cosmetics, faction themed / seasonal hearth stones, and warband login screens.

Meta is also stupid people abusing BloodDk+BmHunter+MistMonk. They didnt nerf BM, didnt nerf Frost Mage, didnt nerf Evoker sustain damage or mobility, didnt nerf mage, didnt nerf feral, didnt buff warrior, didnt buff enha defensive, didnt buff boomy defensive, didnt buff restro druid, didnt buff restro shaman, didnt buff dk, they overtune unh nerf need %5 buff minimum, they didnt buff dh, didnt buff fire mage, mmr is garbage people keep quiting. My problem is how wildly long it takes to get conquest compared to honor. You have to wait significantly longer to play, so you can earn significantly less currency... Blizzard does it to themselves. I remember reaching my conquest cap back in MoP on my monk in a few hours, after having a HUGE cap. You used to get so much conquest per win back then, it was awesome. Now I have to wait for shuffle to pop, win most matches and get like 100 and something conquest. It is crazy.
I canceled my sub this month. PvP just isn't fun and PvP gear is bullshit.PvP isn't about skill, it's about sweat.

If you're a ranged class, who has the advantage of using ranged and Pets, (Melee and Range) With a mortal strike. While also having amazing mobility and surviability. Its a god class.
Ontop of this, normally if a class like this existed, the trade off would need to be "extremely high skill cap to play" but of course, BM hunter is the lowest of the low in terms of mechanical skill.

i Canceled my membership yesterday, i won't give them my money for the terrible pvp state we have with 0 fix and ultra op classes versus ultra undertuned classes.
Here’s the thing with rating. 3s and 2s are dead in comparison to solo. Everyone thinks they want Blizz to “fix” rating, but if they make changes to address the rating it will spread the ready abysmal average of about 12-15k games per day across that much more of a spread. We end up right where we were in DF which was rank 1, streamers, glads all farming alts to stay at 1600-1700 and ruin peoples experience. All the problems actually get worse and pika is playing rogue for life in 1800 lobbies.

I haven’t felt the need to push at all this season. I basically just do enough solo shuffle to keep my gear up to date and am waiting out the end of the season to do my 2400 push.
I just don't like playing against rank 1 players as a casual player. Never happened in any other game only wow. I have bumped into many top tier players while geared in honor gear getting stomped because they are boosting a character
I was talking to my mate about this and I feel like one of the things that sucks is that no one uses trade chat to find team mates anymore. Which is a big deal for oceanic players because there is a lot of people who want to pvp but go to lfg and see no one quing and just give up but I would bet that if you made a new chat where people can't advertise people would start quing more at oce times and that connection to players on your realm would come back

As you pointed out there are 3600 3s games played compared to 10x that in SS. Don’t you think that were just spread too thin and that’s why MMR continues to stagnate?
I believe we need to get rid of SS, Blitz, add solo queue to 2s/3s//RBG. Meaning you can queue solo or in groups for any PvP content. Just like most other matchmaking games. This would incentivize team play but also make it accessible for all.
A reason the queue times are so long is that you’re waiting for SIX matches to occur. With the above mentioned you’d be waiting on 1 game to occur.

Yeah, I've seen rets (just on example) pressing no BoP, Sacrifice, Freedom or Sanctuary and go 6:0 in some SS lobbies. It has been all about damage lately.
i think one of the biggest things they could do is make it to where u get seasonal mount or transmog when you hit maybe 500 rating then when you hit 1000 rating you get something else if the provide more rewards to players earlier in rating they will more then likely want to continue playing. the reason i got into pep was for the saddle mount is had miss and making me have to farm the current season then get a saddle afterword's is a lot of effort so they could also allow you to pick but just some thoughts

2s bracket is in absolute shambles. On EU at ~2K cr, end of week 8, that is top 2.2% of the ladder. Absurd. 2400 isn't even obtainable in that bracket really, 13 characters are over 2400 in 2s as we speak - 11 accounts (2 are alts of the same person). 6 specs represented in those 13 slots.

It should not be impossible to get glad unless you're on par with AWC players. Odds are you've never been 2400 and are projecting as if you have been, because nobody has this take thats actually up at 2500-2700 right now.

I quit wow PVP early Dragon Flight, I forced myself to push 2100 with my priest and I was so glad to get it over with, haven’t PvPd since and I’ve been enjoying pve and getting rewards and leveling new characters.
I endured way too much frustration, i gave up 3 weeks ago and just thinking that i have to log up and wait 20-30 mins to even play just to get fucked by ferals or rogues or sp or an npc bm hunt and just to get stuck at 2200 till they think that its time to let some people progress deters me from even opening the battle app, its all a waste of time with no fun at all. And as a surv hunter i had to wait 1.5 months to even get core mechanics fixed, that company does not deserve a cent nor a minute from me or other players that used to love the pvp experience
Honestly, they should just create a PvP realm or instances where you can only queue with one character of each spec, fully geared, no enchants or gems-just pure gameplay with cosmetics and pride rewards. Sure, Timmy might miss out on his big gear advantage to stomp PvE boys in non-rated BGs, but that’s okay. 😂
Why am I spending time healing damage dealers who seem clueless, facing the fifth Holy Paladin reroll of some rank one player at 1600, just to go 3-3 and gain absolutely zero points? Then getting trashtalked by those same damage dealers with gems like, “lol, 300 games and still 1600.” My MMR has been messed up since day one, when healers were hard-stuck at that rating and even rank ones were sitting at 1700-1800. It was totally broken.
So, I swapped to playing damage dealer, and boom-hit 1800-1900 in a single day. Aside from the long queues, it was way easier to climb. That’s just the nature of arenas: as a healer, you face only one other healer, but as a damage dealer, you’re competing with three others. I regularly go 4-2 or 5-1 as a damage dealer, whereas as a healer, I’m doomed to 3-3. I can’t get past 2k without sweating it out, and I have a life-I don’t want to keep facing the 10th alt of some AWC champion at 1600 in shuffle.
When I actually face people in my own league, I go 5-1 or 6-0. But then I go 3-3 or 2-4 against rank ones and slowly bleed rating, since that’s who I queue into most of the time. I even kept an Excel sheet at the start of the season, and more than half of my opponents at 1600 were R1 healers. How are mere mortals supposed to climb when every time we queue up, we’re up against pros who literally make a living off this game?
What they need to do is detach PvE and PvP class kits/specs, talents, and spells, and make healers heal less and being able only to sustain HP a little bit not to heal from 0% to 100% in seconds. Make a brand new class kit for each spec specifically for PvP and make it feel more like MOBA in BGs instead of Zerging.. There is just too much CC, and healers are also making PvP unfun. You almost kill someone 3 times but he is healed back up to full hp in seconds and then you die even though you would already defeat that person 3x if it wasn't for the healing. Each class and spec should have like 3-4 DPS spells, 1 defensive spell, 1 CC. Healers additionally 1 dispel, 1 single target heal, and maybe 1 HoT/AoE heal spell on longer cooldown. PvP using PvE class kits is just too advanced and too complicated for majority of players so PvP in WoW will never be popular as long as playing it is this hard. Classes in PvP need to be very simplistic. There is a reason why in PvP focused MMOs and MOBAs you only get a few spells.
3 things I think can save rated pvp, 1: more rewards for healer (the long queues are because we don't have enough of them) something as simple as they get a slightly high mmr climb. 2: Give 2's a unique reward, this is the lowest barrier to entry and is by far the slowest bracket great to let people learn in, 3: yeah just let the mmr climb faster so people can get there goals and feel they can even play alt to that lvl too, season where is was high i pushed alot more on multiple toons.

Why do they have to reset mmr between seasons?
Just decay current rating by 10% every week on reset day and leave their mmr where they deserve to be.
Blizzard needs to track & adjust inflation accordingly. Having a glad mount people are excited for to sure helps to, which isn’t really the case this season. So people just hitting up blitz and will just use their Legion or Dragonflight glad mounts, till a cool one is put out there to draw in more players. Part of the problem about the current system is, when not enough people are playing in a given season, suddenly it’s multi glads fighting for just duelist 2100… for like the first month or two. But here we are 8 weeks in with inflation in 3v3. Almost a full 1000 rating lower blitz/solo shuffle (where everyone is playing atm). Most of us honestly lost our awesome pvp friends… and pve’ers don’t really want to ever play when I ask them , they have mythic plus keys to run… so now just wandering around town alone but wanting to pvp with people hopefully around one’s given skill level… so only options are solo shuffle or blitz. Because that’s where the bulk of the pvper’s are. You seen the rated bg search? There’s fucking 6 dudes selling RBG rating (how that’s still a thing idk), and maybe two to three yolo’s and all but one will likely be 2100+ only players allowed. Something to that extent…. For a person trying to get into pvp; the only shows in town are solo shuffle and blitz atm…. The rated bg scene has been on the decline, but solo rated blitz really took a huge amount of those players…
Venruki is right. The entire PvP rating and reward system needs a complete ground up rework/overhaul. Entirely new system.

I've only pushed gladiator 2 times, in shadowlands S1 and S2. I had more free time and there were a lot of people playing, which meant more inflation but also more groups to join / play with.
Imho there are 2 main concerns blizzard should have:
- make playing the game fun (even for healers, which often act as a bottleneck to the amount of groups available)
- make it rewarding, maybe create more coloration of the glad mount and release one at a more accessible rating and another one at the current rating. Possibly re-introduce some old pvp sets (maybe with a 1 token per account per season that you can earn to unlock 1 old set) or some old glad mounts (through some hard process, maybe only the ones that came with the new 2400+ system rather than the .5%) or some cool weapon illusions (feels like the best weapon illusion is still the one from mop, how hard can it be to make something that looks as good as that?)
I expect nothing though, I feel like whoever is in charge of the pvp side of things is fine with how things are and only has an emergency button to inject some mmr / remove conq cap whenever participation drops even lower than usual
20+ min queue is so freaking rough. Finding regular 3s takes just as long if not longer. I have had so much fun when I actually get to play, but the problem is I don't get to play 80% of the time im in game. Sad but I'm likely done.

BG blitz is great mode except when you go on a 10 game losing streak and feel like the only thing you can do is take a break.
If Blizzard doesnt change the ancient mmr system and give extra rewards to pvp players both in shuffle and blitz next season, pvp will fade. I think we had enough!
I miss the guides and class play videos he used to make. I loved watching his mage videos and his advice on how to play mage better.
