I added this comment on FaceBook as well, but I want to be sure you see it, so I am placing it here as well. I have wanted, for decades, to see someone do this. Way back in the 1960's I saw this illusion done with traditional silver-based photography using the faces of two US presidents, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson. Thank you very much for this tutorial.
Hey David, I’ve surely read and replied to your comment! 😊 As mentioned there, this effect would look even more interesting using two different faces indeed. Never even thought of that ! Will definitely try it in the future. I’m very happy to hearing this video is what you’ve been waiting for years for ! Thanks for watching and if there’s anything else I should consider creating a video about, let me know ! 🤙🏼
Okay, that was mind-bending and mind-blowing. I was glued to the screen and still had to rewind a few times to absorb all your teaching. We are so blessed that you are sharing your amazing talent with us. Thank you so much. I have written to the FBI and order my old mug shots from my protesting days back in the sixties and cannot wait to try this. Please never stop teaching us Rens.
Haha you just made my day ! And wow, thanks as always for sharing your incredibly kind words buddy. I had never expected that these tutorials would mean so much.. And I couldn’t be more grateful about it. Thanks once again for getting me through the rough days this year.. I truly appreciate you Ed! Big hugs from me and my fam. Talk soon 👊🏼🤙🏼
In Affinity Photo it isn't called 'drop shadow' but 'outer shadow' instead! You can find this option in the Layer FX panel. Simply play with the sliders and angle until you get the result you're looking for. Hope this helps! :)

Nice work. Please I have a question. How can I drop a shadow in Affinity like in Photoshop
