It's a little clumsily still. Why can't we just move the image behind the mask with the mask staying still, acting like a window in front of the image? Having to unlock the mask and reduce the opacity to line things up is slow and awkward.
Thank you. This really helped me a lot. I'd love you to do more on Affinity Photo. I find the official instructional videos far more difficult to follow than yours.
Please make more Affinity Photo Tutorials, You are an incredible teacher!
I really like the way you explain things. Wish you had a course on this program.
Brilliant. Just what I needed! Clear and concise.
Thank you! Perfect timing that you should upload it today when I need to know how to do this.
Thanks for this video, this is exactly what I needed to do and you explained it so clearly!

The most succinct explanation I've come across. Well done and thank you.
Great work!
Thanks!
Very helpfull, thank you.
Well explained - thanks 🙏
Great vivio, but how can I do that with a shape that I designed?
I have affinity Photo 2 and it seems to not work.
In Photoshop, we can either move the mask OR the image. Is this possible in Affinity photo ?
Yes. Whichever later you select is the layer you move.
