Interesting what you mentioned! I go to some tennis club in which old farts are trying to show off constantly without even be able to keep a 30 balls uninterrupted rally!
Those are the worst. Like, I'm trying to keep a rally going for as long as possible, but my hitting partner will just hit winners or hard-to-get balls. I don't know if they're doing it on purpose or not, but it's annoying nonetheless.
I wish i had hitting partners, where i live theres very little clubs, I'm fairly new and know only two players they're both pretty busy so i convince my friends to play to teach them and then enjoy anything i get. Be it as it may even i know how sucky it is to play with people like that... 😂
@Benjamin Lock Once I had a partner who'd do this all the time. He'd never give consistent balls and would make me run a lot. The worst part is he never wanted to play actual matches. Total mess
@@12kgpTennis they've announced they're holding the indian wells tournament in october. double bonus cuz palm springs won't be so ridiculously hot AND hopefully enough time for roger to make a comeback!
I mean yeah, the truth is that Schwartzman would’ve been a consistent top 10 player if he had a more typical stature of 6 feet. But he’s gotten very, very far at his height and it’s incredibly inspiring. It could also be argued that lots of players have physical limitations to overcome. Many great players have battled chronic injury, for example. Many players have smaller frames in other ways that they need to overcome via technique; I’m thinking of the really thin players on the tour in the modern age with small muscle structure. But the variation is what keeps the sport interesting. So yeah, Diego proves that one can reach the highest level tennis at 5’5, or whatever he is, and that counts for something. He’ll never be #1 in the world, but how many players of the thousands in the professional world do?
@@TomSmith-gw6fn I think that Schwartzman is a great defender. He may be a top ten player for a good amount of time, but I don't think he could be #1 because his weapons aren't big enough to hurt the top players consistently. Djokovic and Nadal have great defense and fearsome weapons.
he is so consistent. wasn’t like this only a few years ago. everything he does is so clear. an actual practice with intentions. no wonder he has improved so much.
great study. Impressive like Thiem demonstrates 3 different ball contact points on his backhand: 1. half volley 2. hit before the ball reaches top spot 3. hit shortly after the ball reaches top spot all that randomly with an incredible consistency. This is masterful.
Schwartzman is an amazing player considering his short stature, if he was 6ft+ I'd suggest he would be a regular top 10 player. Great video of Thiem and his magic backhand. At the start of the video Thiem's footwork is so light and balanced, reminds me of Federer in his prime. Barring injury I would expect Thiem to pose the main threat to Nadal on clay this year and maybe deny his 12th French Open. He hits with consistent power and has the mental toughness to win. Just my thoughts, I'm no tennis legend.
The one-handed backhand shots from Thiem, Nadal, Federer, etc. that amaze me are the slices when they seem truly pressed just to get to the ball. Delivered under pressure, it's a much more difficult shot than an attacking topspin drive, skimming the top of the net with no margin for error, and then landing deep in their opponent's backhand corner. I played tennis for years but never could master that shot.
Im so happy for Dom man.. he finally won a Major.. he deserves it. I like his personality.. very decent guy.. All the best to him this 2021... win the Aussie Open Dom.. you can do it..
Old school man! Great stuff! Nick Bollettieri's tennis school came up with Andrea Agassi double backhand! They butchered the good and stylish tennis. I'm glad that Federer, Dominic Thiem, Carreneo Busta, Stan W and some very few others they know and feel the advantage of single backhand!
Looking at his foot loading, seems like he has less wt transfer on his forehand than his backhand which might explain why he has to take such a gigantic backswing
The practice courts at Indian Wells are incredible, and many of those courts allow fans to watch the players up close. This video is taken from from my own perspective watching this. So it's basically what I see from the railing behind this particular practice court.
this is so satisfying to watch
Reza Uchiyamada 凌 it be more satisfying to hit like them
@Eman With my skills, that’s not happening so I think I’ll stick to watching this
Luke Yin 😂😂👍
This is the most relax Thiem hitting I have ever seen. Absolutely hypnotic.
Thiem’s approach to ball striking has improved substantially over the years. His development is fantastic
He has the best forehand on tour now
Ertugrul Körpinar that’s stretching it
@@commondirtbagz7130 Him or Nadal are solid contenders
Bud Kaiwi nadal definitely. Roger is always in contention when he’s on. Personally though I think thiems backhand is his strength.

What a beautiful court !
Olivier Brn and the backdrop to.
Isaiah Gauthier I think that’s the main reason they are saying it’s nice, otherwise it’s just a good tennis court but not beautiful.
I show this to my club players begging them to understand how to practice with each other and not going for ridiculous angle winners 24-7🙄🙄🙄🙄
Will Hopson omg really.... why? it’s much harder to just keeping the ball going all that time than doing a stupid ass winner

Nagu Hebbal agreed fully, you can achieve whatever in tennis if you put your mind to it mate%
It kinda does, betch. Sorry to be a downer, but all he shows is it's POSSIBLE, not it doesn't matter

How does height impact your tennis talent
HRY FA arm length and reach, power, serve speed, return ability. Having to move more to reach balls also makes shorter players fatigued faster
Joshua Rosenblatt how does it impact power and serve speed? Also fatigued faster barely
domi smoothness plus the view outside the court equals satisfaction level 101
Prime Thiem free hitting is just animalistic! And kudos to Peque for keeping up with such tremendous hitting!
The one handed back hand is arguably the most Beautiful shot tennis
Not arguments from me since it happens to be my best and most consistent/confident shot.
Those swings look both consistent and strong

single handed backhand is the most beautiful gesture in tennis
Excellent rallies! We tennis players all know how amazing practice rallies they are doing!

I love to watch these rallies, we can observe how these amazing pro try to keep these rallies consistent and keep them at same speed and angle. Nice!

I love his backhand. So fluent!
What grip does he use for one hander? Anyone know?
I think it's eastern, like most of the one back hander players, the same grip you have to use when doing a kick serve.
What grip is theme using. Semi western or full
