No joke but Starfield makes "Fallout" 3 and 4 look like Fallout New Vegas. I am deadly serious, not even joking. Starfield is genuinely this dreadfully boring and mediocre.
starfield isnt just another bethesda game because atleast in skyrim you had handcrafted open world and dungeons and starfield is procedurally generated boredom .

Funny thing, I am pleasantly surprised by Starfield, because my expectation where exactly that it will be a bethesda game, with all the flaws, the addictive gameplay loop, the amazingly bad writing... With those expectations, when an important questline make some good use of persuasion and sneak mechanics, I am happy (still could improve some things easily, there's a place for mods), but yeah, it's the same game as always, typical AAA modern gaming I guess, they will continue the very same formula until it stops working and they're forced to change it.
I'll give the main quest some points tho, toward the end of it, the thematics and the way they were approached actually made me rethink things about life and philosophy... You know... Like... Like artistic writing... Wow, our standards are so low in video game writing x'); Anyway, get a point for the theology and SF thematics, but unfortunately doesn't change that the plot itself is changing between stupid and boring as usual, with all my appreciation to the writers, I'll say it could really be better.
I have higer expectations for what will come from the modding scene than from the game itself honestly ^^
Wouldn't agree that their formula isn't working, its still working in it's old games and modders are still working off of it and refreshing it with giant projects for Skyrim, Morrowind, Fallout 4 and NV - NV: mexico, skyblivion, Fallout London to name a few, What's not working is the scope of Starfield and the shit tier writing. Bethesda of late has been obsessed with procedural gameplay loops designed to keep people 'playing forever', when ironically all of their previous games have had none of that and ARE being played forever

This game needs major changes and Inovation and deeper stories in dlc that somehow schanges or adds on the existing that's still possible because they haven't messed it up it was a big ask for the starfield idea to make work so bigger battles bigger stories and add some fucking stakes like 1 companion dieing isn't compelling I wanna see a goddamn invasion and genocide by aliens or Starburst bitches I wanna reason to care even tho I love this game and hooks me like fallout 4 did but God damn it feels like the game would be a master peice that just needs about another million dollars thrown at it with intentions and a good focused team because it's all there but write me a story I love this shit. The fact all the shit in starfield works and working and looks like the beginning of game of the year but THEY STOPPED HALFWAY okay all is working and the story almost make since and creation engine isn't breaking fornow so now add the flare. Example: dlc 1 varuun come back in full force attacking both freestanding and uc but the fuckers won't work together and share intel questline new varuun is making nukes faster than they can defend because of some unknown reason - plot twist ecliptic found a huge ass cashe of nuke on earth and made a deal with house of varrun. So freestanding gets the mechs back going and the xeno warfare program 2.0 mega teramorphs that are controlled with a i pad pro. I mean the world they got writes itself and I love the game to much to see em shit the bed this game has roots for success

When you think about it they have very little reason to make meaningful changes to their game formula. Why bother trying to reinvent the wheel, when your 2006 style RPG is raking in tons of cash? People are uncomfortable with change, and have proven time and time again they will fork over money for a reskinned product. Madden, CoD, Fifa, etc come to mind.
2006 is giving it waaaay too much credit. More like 2011.

You just worded the the reason why i dont buy AAA games anymore, way better then i ever could. unless there on really discounted sale. stopped COD at BLOPS 2. Madden and FIFA in 2015. Reskinned, tweaked, and resold and full value. Ill just play the OG version until something new and unique comes along. usually indie developer. A reinvented wheel is exactly what I want. One with flashier, shinier, tougher, faster, stuff on it. Buuuuuuuuut thats just me, and im not everyone. lols.

@@beefymario88 90% of the people saying that are basing their opinions on their favourite youtubers videos so I'm not taking any of it seriously, you should always try a game and use your own brain to develop your opinion instead of parroting someone else's opinion, the cost of the game is not an issue here, you don't have to pay bethseda in order to play it since pirating games is a thing and gamepass exists if your on console.

The enemies are bland. The guns are bland. The game play mechanics are bland. The ship combat is bland. Nothing is too bad but nothing is too great. It’s just meh

I played skyrim and fallout 4 but this ... this is not the game for me
I may get hated for this but Starfield is like Elden Ring to me. Because the devs decided to “expand the world” rather than take baby steps, the games lost a lot of their personality and themes. Ya there’s snowy areas and desert areas but the content and the personality tone and humor just isn’t there.
Can't wait for Starfield but with magic.
I mean Starfield already has magic kinda… but yeah where is Elder Scrolls 6 when you need it

I knew as soon as Starfield came out, it would make your video adamantly defending Fallout 3 age like milk. Seriously my friend, Bugthesda is genuinely one of the most evil companies along with Activision and EA with how purely greedy they are. I really hope with how amazing Baldur's Gate 3 is that it really does lead to Bugthesda losing a lot of loyal customers and fans. Also, Fallout New Vegas is still better than all of Bugthesda's games combined. :D
Why would I want Bethesda to change? Their games are great the way they are.
