The reason why Gmod is easy to mod is because the game is coded in Lua, which is the most friendly game language out there to create mods! And recently it was discovered that Hades 2 is coded in Lua, making it easy to create mods for the game!! Edit: nevermind it is written in C and C++ I knew that Hades 1 was written in C and C++ but when I found out that Hades 2 had Lua scripts, it blew me away, my bad fellas, that's on me! 😅
@@gavinrolls1054 really? from what I know if you own Hades 2, then go into your harddrive to Steam Apps, then common, Hades 2, click on content and finally scripts, most of the files are in Lua! CS Source was my guess. I played that back in the day for 100s of hours, and never touched the base game. Jailbreak, Surf, TTT, Prophunt, Gungame, the list goes on. SO MUCH of modern gaming stems directly from these mods.
kinda guessed doom would beat skyrim i know it had a pretty big modding scene plus it had way more time i also knew the micncraft would beat skyrim as for Gmod i dont know why i did not even think of that since i played the game a lot when i was younger and the hole point of the game is to mod it
there's 20,000 World of Warcraft add-ons across all 5 versions of the game playable, classic vanilla, season of mastery, hardcore, classic, and retail.
also might be worth considering gamebanana when looking at hl2, hl1, cs:s, gmod, and tf2, though idk how you get a count of how many there are on there

Thank you for this video. I was kind of getting fed up of the arrogance of some people in the Bethesda modding community. So its great so have some numbers (even if it is impossible to get completely accurate numbers)
Since when is 300 mil. over double than 200 mil. From what I understood from so many math lectures over the years, and a solid grasp on algebra and basic arithmetic, I believe the double of 200 mil. is 400 mil. and 300 mil. is not greater than 400 mil. but idk I wasn't the best at math so I could be wrong
roblox games could be considered mods of the baseplate. if you stretch it. roblox has literaly 5 billion players all with places, so if you are willing to stretch things roblox has 5 billion "mods" (a decent portion are just duplicates.) this is an l argument.
I feel like skyrim still has more impressive mods than gmod and minecraft on the horizon and developed for it when it comes to content, skywind is looking crazy and skyblivion plus more. Etc etc
Skyrim just has a better engine for mod development and worldbuilding. Gmod just doesnt support the same level of modifcation. Minecraft does have some amazing mods but they are different games
Says he won't treat the audience like they are stupid by explaining redundant things Proceeds to explain the difference between Skyrims different versions.
Guess I'm stupid then because I never understood the actual difference between the two, I always play the normal edition instead of the Special edition

idk, I hate lua so much, somehow it is against my nature to code in it :D
So if Garry's mod is a mod of Half Life 2, doesn't that mean that the winner is Half Life 2?
That's like saying Quake is a timeless classic because the same thing was said about TF2 (which is a relatively modern descendant)
Quake is a timeless classic wdym
@@no-legjohnny3691quake is better than tf2
garry's mod is a half life mod in the way that half life is a quake mod, i'd consider them completely different games with the same engine
@@yungneronero Garry's Mod is very open about it being a mod though, it's in the name
Quick reupload because I didn't realize my headphones were at half volume, so my voice was deafeningly loud lmao.
GREAT, and i mean GREAT transition at 11:05 between the "Baba Is You OST" and the "Skyrim OST - Ancient Stones" (same tonality i think)

It's obviously Gmod. It literally has "mod" in the name. 💀
DooM is def the most if you count just player made maps an mods. there are so many that arent on wad sites but are on old CD-ROMS
I am a decent part of that 54B downloads. I have played different modpacks for years and each one had atleast 200 mods. Some of them even hit 350mods.
and thats probably not even that big of a percentage of them
This is my first thing I’ve seen of yours since 4 years ago, and of course it has gmod in it lol Good video Logamuffin, keep it up!

i didn't intend on watching the whole video through but i got glued to the screen anyways... thanks.
this video is really well made i hope it blows up keep it going 👍
Before I actually watch this, I'm gonna go ahead and guess Gmod
I'm playing Fallout VR with 203 mods atm, looks great.
3:00 You missed out gamebanana for Half life mods
and you also forgot to cout the mods in planetminecraft and the MC Forums for the MC Mods

Garry then must be the most modded person ever
what about S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?

My guess is HOI IV
I was way off
It still beats fallout 4 at 49,075 mods on steam
64% of HOI IV players use mods so that must count for something
