It's great to see Kat being able to work without having to be away from her baby. Wish more workplaces were like this (safety permitting)
Certainly one of the most chilled out new mums I’ve ever seen.
Definitely wasn’t this chilled out when I was a new new mum! Ash has a 4yr old big sister 😉
Helps that he is, so far, a very easy baby also!
-K
Nobody wants your baby at the workplace. . .this is a delusion of self interest lol
@@insertartshow It is definitely better to have the calm one second, if you have the calm one first they lull you into a very dangerous false sense of security!
As somebody who used to work in an office where the manager frequently brought her baby, I have *zero* issue with it.
The short breaks she needed to take care of the child, change her, feed her, etc. weren’t any longer than my own breaks for lunch, coffee, etc.
Her entire paycheck would’ve otherwise gone to a daycare, and she still did an incredible job. She usually worked twice as hard to compensate for the guilt she felt, even though we all mutually agreed she didn’t need to feel guilty for it.
We loved having the baby around, it brought some joy, compassion, and humanity into the otherwise mundane office environment.
As a dad, seeing Kat being able to bring her little to work is so amazing!
I love when they say "I've never used this medium before" and then go on to make these incredible works of art. You guys are awesome ladies!!!
I was thinking the same thing! Both of them did amazing in the unfamiliar medium!
You two actually did really good. The drawings are pretty similar across both mediums. Wonderful!
I agree
Loving the variety we're already seeing on this fairly new channel
I did not expect the end results to look so similar between digital and physical. Testament to the skill you both have as artists. I also love to see how you supported and gave tips to each other on the medium each of you were more familiar with. I love the collaborative, encouraging nature of this channel!
Also props to Jazza Inc for not only making a workplace friendly to a parent with an infant but letting it be seen on camera. Yes, lots of us obviously noticed the baby but his presence didn't distract at all from the arty content we came for and it's wonderful to see a Mum supported to be both a hands-on parent as well as a fantastic artist that can support her family with her skill. ❤
Kat! I’m so happy that you get to bring your baby to work with you! It’s so empowering as a parent of four to see badass parents being badass at their jobs as well. Major Props to you and the Insert Art team!
Traditional watercolor is so hard, the way you almost have to work backward, maintaining your lightest areas and highlights throughout the whole piece and building onto them rather than layering them on at the end like you would with oil or acrylic. It’s such a mental exercise when you aren’t used to it! I could see how digital watercolor would make that aspect so much easier because you genuinely can erase and edit what you’ve already laid down. It would be really fun to experiment with both mediums like you did!
What a pair of naturals in front of the camera! The vibe was great. Kat’s hair almost stole the show imo 😂❤
I LOVE your rainbow hair! Must’ve taken a while.
I love the concept of doing a piece both traditionally and digitally. All the pieces turned out amazingly. And I love that Kat gets to bring her baby to work. ❤❤
The idea of creating this channel is brilliant . It makes me relax and excited to draw . The different styles , the different personalities of the artists of this channel are perfect together . The harmony between the artists of this channel . Everything is perfect . Thanks jazza .
Love seeing Bub at work 😍 what a great mum and supportive/inclusive work environment 👏. Love both pieces. The mouse riding the beetle speaks to my cute, animal, character creating heart 😊😊😊
You guys should definitely try VR stuff! I bet it would be a lot of fun to mess around with modeling and such
ok to answer the bubble tea question (cause im definitely not obsesses with bubble tea):
kat was drinking taro milk tea with tapioca pearls
ariel was drinking brown sugar milk tea with tapioca pearls (my favorite, less sugar less ice)
I love seeing Kat with her baby. Now that's an awesome example of a working Mum!!!
Love both renditions, they turned out fantastic and it really shows how good you both are at switching mediums and still create a fantastic work! Great job ❤
The flower in the watercolor version has a beautiful shape and shade.
Fresco is my favorite digital art app Im happy to see it getting some attention!
Love Ariel she has such a good energy and great questions and involvement ! Makes me so curious to see more of her art !
I have always preferred the visceral aspect of art, so even though I enjoy watching the digital art take shape, my inclination is toward irl watercolors. I, myself, tend toward stained glass, textural painting, and multimedia work.
I love this channel. Thank you, Jazza for making this channel happen and rounding up such talented artists! You guys are awesome, looking forward to more content :D
What a cool idea! I love seeing you both doing something you are familiar with and then throwing yourself into something you are not, being able to help each other out because your skills are complimentary!
Ariel, your piece is so lovely and soft, but I want to draw attention to the flower on your traditional watercolour, it was absolutely gorgeous.
Kat, your mouse riding a beetle is such an adorable idea! I loved your experimentation and play in this. Lovely.
I love painting with watercolor. Spent a whole year painting in that medium strictly. Now as an artist transitioning to digital, it's nice to see that my skills I've spent so long honing can possibly be transferred over to my tablet
Loved this video! As someone who finds watercolor far too finicky, I am impressed by anyone that can make it work. These artists are fantastic and loved seeing them give tips and tricks to the other after the medium swap as they are also such useful tips that anyone can apply. Well done!
These two are a fun duo.
Dang it! I don't ever usually fall for April Fool's bits. But you got me with the Huion thing. Here I am laughing at myself for searching all around creation trying to find out more about this mysterious hologram Huion product. 🤣
YAAAAAAY so happy you see Kat in more videos! You've come so far from when we used to chat on DA all those years ago 💗 Funnily enough... When I got my tax money last month I invested in a Huion based PURELY on the recommendation from this channel! Now I just need my mom to give me back my laptop so I can start using it 🤣
I can't choose between the two medias. Both turned out amazing in their own ways. 💗
I really loved this video idea! You should make it a series changing mediums each episode.
I'm loving the little characters on the thumbnail.
this is a great idea for a vidio. as a "traditional" artisit who is trying to get into digital art i actually found this helpfall. so thank you :)
Glad it was helpful! - [A]
Love the video. Just a heads up, you missed the letter "C" in Fresco in the video title.
Its seems like a really cool program. I might need to give it a try.
They're soooo beautiful!!! 😍🥴🖤
I like this way of swapping styles between art methods and between partners, they look so good together every way.
I'm glad Ariel is more confident and it's noticeable how much she has improved since the her video with Alysha 🤩
Both digital and traditional art you made looks good, for the both of you! The results are really pleasing to look at. It is hard to say which one would be liked more, both of them have their own charm! I would say keep doing it mixed! Comparisons of different media are always interesting! MAybe even bigger differences like charcoal vs ink, color pencil vs oil paint, you get the idea...
Aww... Special guest Ash is always great to see on the videos. And your pieces turned out incredible. Lovely work you two.
I feel like this is the first time we are seeing both of you work to your strengths in a way we haven't yet seen. I love it!!! This project is conducive to a kind of creativity that the other recent videos didn't have.
I think that type of versatility for the channel will keep our interest and will encourage all of the team to stretch and grow as artists.
Watercolor has a certain beauty to it
it took me a minute to realize there was a baby and my heart feels blessed
Great work both of you! 👏
I've played with both Fresco and watercolour and both have their perks. I especially love that you can do layers with Fresco. Its especially good if you do digital collage as you can create neat textures without having to scan stuff in.
Although I must say I love the way I can mix paints to get particular colours or transparencies, so until I'm better at Fresco watercolour still wins for me.
I use fresco regularly and as someone who came from traditional to digital it has made my process so much easier. That, in combination with jazza’s art brush pack really helps my experience!
So glad to hear that you're making good use of the brush pack! With that AND Fresco, you must be making some pretty cool art! - [Alysha]
@@insertartshow I'm still on a learning curve (as all new mediums are) but I've got some pretty good profiles out of it and it's definitely helped in the creative process of my college projects! Being able to plan something out similar to the way an actual medium would react digitally is such a great concept, I wish more people acknowledged Fresco.
What an interesting concept! And also so instructive and informing!
I grew up using acrylic predominantly to almost exclusively in school, and then when I grew up and wanted to return to painting, I went to watercolors for the economic reason that I couldn't afford to buy acrylic paints for a good spectrum - and only recently did I learn that I was "using" watercolors wrong - I was applying the methods of acrylic to my watercolors, and were almost always disappointed with the result. It's humbling and wonderful to learn that although some skills transfer well, and you are not starting from scratch - you are still taking on a new medium, and it is wonderful to get to explore it like you did when you were a child
I come from acrylics and acryla gouache, so I have to watch myself with watercolours 😅😅
-K
I like the first drawing of the girl with a flower in her hair
Cool rainbow hair kat
I've been doing more 3d animation lately but I always do digital now, so I would like to go back and do some traditional stuff again. Would love to try watercolour for sure.
Great video. You guys seem very natural on camera together. If you felt some nerves, it didn't show.
That hair is amazing. It makes me want to dye my hair something like that too.
Do iieett 😄
- K
The teas look like Taro and either a chai milk tea or a very dark matcha (maybe with a shot of espresso in it). Matcha is my favorite for bubble tea/Boba but I also love coffee flavored versions of it
My guess is kat was drinking taro and Ariel matcha? My favorite boba is semisweet Thai milk tea
This was really fun to watch!
Badass mouse!! Now someone needs to sculpt it
Your boba teas were taro and black milk tea i’m guessing.
My favorite is honeydew and green tea milk tea. Should try those flavors next time 😊 great video I love doing watercolor for fun so I enjoyed it!
Awesome work guys 🙌🙌
I love both (all four?) pieces, and my favorite bubble tea flavor is Chai.
I love watercolor! I’ve never used any digital art. I’m extremely intimidated by it
Lavendar Honey and Taro Root!
I loved both results!
I love this duo❤, PS. Y'all are making me want boba so badly 😅
I would love to see the entire Insert Art group work on a long term project together, like a digital (or animated) comic. Not necessarily that, but something that would take a while to complete, that maybe patrons can vote on certain aspects of. Like randomly generate a few character concepts and let them decide which to use and maybe also some key worldbuilding and story arcs. Or, since this shouldn't be the only project, whenever you do an unrelated video but make really cool stuff, they can vote on whether or not to incorporate it. The main thing would be coming up with the over arching world building concept so that it makes sense to have so many sometimes radically different ideas and art styles combined into one... Like a merging of realities, but with some kind of twist because that's been done. But the point is, you're all incredible, an ongoing once or twice a month video series like that would be amazing to watch. But keep all the plot twists and stuff on patreon only until it's finished. And once finished sell it to fund raise, both to help the channel and for charity.
What a fun idea! I've been having fun with (traditional) watercolor washes as backgrounds in my bullet journal, but would like to learn more--maybe I'll try my own version of a mouse riding a bug--adorable =)
i will always use traditional methods of painting but, i also like digital sometimes
traditional watercolor is my medium, so im so excited to see you all do a video on it (cuz respectfully Jazza doesnt have the paitience for it xD) one thing id point out is to use a large brush on large areas, and dont repeatedly paint over the same spot after you put the initial color down or else it will end up looking splotchy. wet on wet is best for smooth skin, but always pay attention to the amount of water on the brush.
its a lot to remember, but the end result is so pretty imo
Some great tips here! Looking forward to trying watercolors myself - [Alysha]
I was very confused by Kat's, ONE breast enhancement and lift, but then I saw it had legs, so now the confusion level's at 5, THEN THE DAMN THING MOVED! 🤨🤯
I don't know which I prefer both are similar I feel like the Digital Art looks more clean like traditionally you might have some paint drip down the page or something which isn't a bad thing its great too, honestly no clue which is better
omg watercolour is my current medium I'm so excited
This was really enjoyable video to watch
I love the flower!
Inspiring me to go try watercolor
Finally some traditional art for a change. I am alil tired of the digital speed paints. I want art in real time
You should try strawberry yakult yogurt popping boba
I really enjoyed this one. :)
So sick!
Bubble tea😍😍😍😍
Amazing!
7:24 baby cough or small sneeze 🤔🤔🤔
7:40 baby confirmed
Baby was confirmed at the very beginning of the video, little legs poking out either side. So cute
@@recoveringsoul755 wow I see now how did I not see that !! Lol
@@heathergrubbs1399 I notice stuff like that because I've nursed my babies discreetly. My husband didn't even know when I was feeding a baby across the restaurant table from him, in a movie theater, or at a party. Just clueless. He tried to forbid me from breastfeeding, so I did it for 3 years each child. It's the best thing for them. Cheaper too.
Kats art reminds me of Redwall meets A bugs life😊❤❤
possible video idea... i draw on the sketchbook app on Android... could you do a video exploring and maybe how to use some of those brushes... and how the blending in that app works I just can't get anything smooth in it🥲
I was really trying to figure out how to do that watercolor stuff
Leaving a comment for the algorithm
Highly recommend Thai milk tea with pearls
Lovely art uwu
The title has a typo ( 'Freso' where it's 'Fresco' )
long shot... but im kinda a backward artist i have people down i just got the pro sketch pack to help one do physical drawing but I NEED to develop objects and animals. could you possibly do something like how to start practicing constructing those? or possibly how the hell perspective works😆?
I’m not gonna lie I could tell you what kind of tea y’all were drinking
Love the results. Amazing how you can get such realistic effects digitally
....is .....that..... MERCH??! 🤔😲😍
Idk what Ariel is talking about, she did fantastic job with water colors
Taro or ub and I'm not sure the other one
Ube*
I was waiting for the baby’s introduction
Try rebelle.
Hi,I'm Nigel😆🖖
It was funny to ear the baby in the background and mommy kissing him to confort him. 😙
daniel give me coffee
Bro you have to add i am shadow artist in this channel
I want to buy it but I don't have $2,400
Just want to point out that it’s not very fair comparison using one of the top digital art format that you can use with the creepiest water colours you could possibly buy the least you could of done is use professional high end, watercolours, and paper that changes the entire look, and experience of water colours
Great video, but there are programs that recreate watercolors way better
Rebelle is better for watercolor.
Traditional
Why did you use this "watercolor" from a children's store? The colors were so dirty
PATRONS NOT PATREONS!!!
Great video but a bit unfair to traditional art when you use state of the art digital and cheap rubbishy kids watercolours.
