@@victoriayuart you are a brave artist. In your recent video you made a demo and wasn't as successful as you expect. Few or anyone do that on YT video. Respect.

Hey~ I've recently implemented this measuring method too (I've seen some people use it , but very sparely. Barely, really), so it's good to know that I'm not the only on using it (and that I'm not crazy 🤣). I tend to prefer squares with their midpoint/half marked down (to know how much space is a shape taking up above and below the midline). And then I "fill in " with negative space the outer silhouette of the shape as needed (especially for cartoony heads).
I usually use Clip Studio's Grid tool with Auto actions.
Basic shapes to enclose a subject, Angles, negative space... They're all game changers for measuring. People DON'T talk enough about it. Maybe you could do some shorts with a few more examples of, say popular characters, to attract traffic.

That's awesome and great to hear that you're also using this measuring method! There are so many ways of approaching how to measure shapes and finding the correct proportions and placement of lines and shapes. But I'm happy this was helpful for you and yeah, no you're not alone! I also like to use this method and also sometimes the grid method!
That's a great tool to use to grid your pictures to help you simplify the picture so that you can draw it!
I would be more than happy to talk more about it! Any particular character you'd like to see? Because I do have these other step-by-step construction that explain more about how to use angles, and negative shapes to help you improve your drawing. Check these out first and let me know how it is!

I love the way you explain in, it's very clear. Though I'm not a professional artist, this is my favourite method for drawing. But to be honnest, I use more circles and ovals, so, thanks to you, I'll give triangles a try. 😊

Thank you so much, I'm really happy that it was easy to understand and clear! Thank you so much for watching and that's great! I'll be making another video on how to use ovals and circles. But I find basic shapes with straight lines easier to spot mistakes and if things don't look correct. Have fun trying out triangles! Let me know if it helped you or not. Would love some feedback! Happy drawing and looking forward to sharing more art tips and advice with you! 🥰🥰🥰
