Great helpful video. I'm in process of designing a simple plywood canoe and can use so many of your ideas. Thanks for the details that I cannot find in other videos. Brilliant....👍👍
I absolutely LOVE how many "rules" of boat construction, and "standards" of marine builds you utterly ignored in this build. You came up with a passable craft, obviously able to paddle it a good distance, despite whatever alternate "standardized" methods might have been breached. I'm not being facetious at all. I hope your creation gives you many years of service. The only addition I'd suggest is a gunwale batten bent around the upper rim both for rigidity, and as a nice accent to the boat visually. Watching this was FUN!!!
Mmmmmmmm I built super yachts over a period of 14 years and we had many a wonderful time from the scrap wood etc building canoes and boats like this one😀🤗no rules just having fun and considering that he traveled quite a few miles just shows how good the diy craft was🤩🥳🥳🤩🥳🤩
As it's a single-person...depending on the rivers and lakes in question, front and rear decking might make it more "wave-resistant." You could use it as cargo, or enclose it and use it as flotation.
Glad i foung this video. I'm in the design phase of building a pacific proa. Its so easy getting sucked into the "proper" way of doing things. Great video 👍
Michael Caine! ...I loved you in the Dark Knight movies! Still building those high tech vehicles for Bruce Wayne, I see. Seriously though, I enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting it.
Hi,just come across your video canoe build, thanks, very entertaining, you have encouraged me to have a go,good to see you paddling your creation,it certainly does paddle well😊
You had me at the design... the trip was absolutely wonderful. This video is an education in life and you are a true mensch. Thank you for sharing this.
Excellent build! I was sort of waiting to see you add gunwhales to the sides, but then you had to cut away some of the cockpit area to make room for paddling, so nice gunwhales would have just been in the way after all! xD
Great vlog. I am full of admiration for your successful design and build. One crucial thing you did not mention is the weight. Can one lift the boat onto a car top for transportation?
Hi! Thanks for that quite straight forward guide! Planning to make my own this way. Please can you specify on the type of plywood? Thickness, type, maybe weight? Thank you!

It's sooo refreshing when you've found a video where everything's perfect, even the narrator's voice!

And some floatation
How could he have incorporated a gunwale batten? Could he have done that with straight sides?

Well done! Not over-done with multiple layers of fiberglass like all of the US-based videos. Simple and effective. 😃

Very very good video and if I weren’t living in a block of flats 12 floors up I’d have a go at that👍
Excellent video! Of course the first float was the day before the event... See you next year :)
Excellent work sir. Excellent instructions and a top chap too. Thank you
Thank you sir for this "properly synchronized" video production and an excellent functioning project CHEERS !!
I enjoyed watching this more than other boat making videos, this really is my style of doing things.
Top job Mate. HELLO, from your Neighbors across the pond.
Veery nice! And thank you for showing the measures... nearly no one else does. Greets from Germany!
Brilliant video,thankyou, I am instantly obsessed 😂😂😂
Thanks for the inspiration. I wish you could have been filmed through the riffles to watch its handling. Safe paddling!

great job thanks for sharing this idea 👍
Great video. Learned a lot

Hi Yes. its light enough for me to carry it on my own - Canadian canoe style. I can even jog while carrying it.
@@greenstripeypaint wow! That is light! Thanks for responding.
Та любовь с которой Вы вояли эту лодку восхищает!
Keeping yourself busy with fun added to the adventure . it's a good video but the kayak is a no no .
Great work 👍👍👍🏴
nicely done
Parabéns ficou maravilhoso... Congratulations were wonderful...
This is more proper.. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi! Thanks for that quite straight forward guide! Planning to make my own this way. Please can you specify on the type of plywood? Thickness, type, maybe weight? Thank you!
hi. It was cheap 5mm ply from Jewson's - not expensive marine ply - it is mentioned at 6:22
Great work.nice video.
what a ripper little kayak !! you have to tell us the name of your cat ?
Thank you. And the cat is Mitty
Well done good effort
Thank you
Wonderful!!!
If you refine the design a bit and you add fibreglass this would be a really durable kayak.
Very practical, great results! Your Alexa is a Brit? I thought I knew her.
Very nice, do you need the bottom runners?
Hi. They add lots of strength and make it track straight - and protect the bottom in shallow water
well done looks cool
Yes Ladd!!! Love it!
Thanks for show the dimensions.
Nice what is the weight ?
never weighed it - but I can put it upside down over my head and jog with it - and i'm not very fit or strong.
Well Done!
What was the finished weight? Was it easily portage-able?
What's "constable country?" Nothing to do with the Rozzers, I hope!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Constable
You can in fact clean resin from the brush while it's still wet with thinners lacquer thinners
Отлично !
Is there a plan available for this boat??
How much does it weigh
The thickness of the plywood sheets, please?☺
5mm from Jewsons - not marine ply. It is mentioned in the film
Alexa set my alarm for 3 minutes :) 11:56
Was that nail varnish on your little finger?
grandchildren!
What's wrong with you you're doing that in the house you getting glue all over the floor sawdust everywhere probably get some on the couch
I just like the video that's what my wife would tell me
I know , great isn`t it ? lol
