60+ years riding, 4 continents, 60+ bikes owned, many more ridden. THIS is the perfect bike. I have heard it said "Every vehicle is a compromise" that being said this RS is flawless in that it does everything, it is easy to push around, looks good, the ride well it is perfect. And it is a Triumph.

Enjoyed that little review mate. As you can see from my moniker I ride the big brother of this bike and pretty much everything you said about the Street applies to the Speed. I guess the Speed just has a bit more, a bit more power, a bit more torque, a bit more weight but essentially very similar bikes. I bought mine last year from Bill Smith and Triumph did a pretty good deal. Have been more than pleased with dealing with Bill Smith.

Thank you. I would love to get my hands on a Speed Triple RR. Just to scare myself to death. 👍. I was looking at one in Bills the other day with all the fairings etc. looks the part. Expensive now though but cheap when compared with a Ducati. 🤔

@@JackBonhamMotorcycles mate I agree 100% about the 1200RR. I have the 1050RS, I believe it was one of the last ones available in the North West (according to Wayne at Bill's). To be honest Jack it's more than plenty for me and I definitely wouldn't be able to do the 1200RR justice plus it's £5k more than I paid for mine. Not saying just cos I've got one but for mere mortals like me and as an all round road bike I honestly think the 1050RS (or even the Street RS) is a better option. Ride safe mate and if I see you at Bill's I'll get you a coffee haha.

Hi Andy. I was really surprised at just how good it is. Quicker than my XSR 900. 👍

Put a plus 3 tooth sprocket in the back and have fun! It moves the mid range down a bit and provides that mid punch that the old bike had.
You'll loose a little top end speed but who needs to do 150 on the street.

    Another great video Jack.
I feel that bike would be way too much power for me. But i love the look of it.
    Think i prefer 27hp.
    Regards
    Darren.

Would you recommend this than the 22 XSR900 with all the electronics?

    Hi Jack
Ever thought of suggesting to Bill Smiths that you should be a paid member of their marketing team😀 you clearly rate them, and they do get great mentions!

Ha. They are a great team. I’ve bought my bikes from them for a few years. Bill himself helped me de restrict my Suzuki Z50 when I was 16 . Many years ago 👍

I can’t see the tack? I have to put it in track mood every time I turn the key off or it’s just slow, when is somebody going to make a full fairy sport bike that’s comfortable?

    Hi Jack
I enjoy your vids and you are one of the few that I watch even if I think, hmm, that bike doesn’t really interest me. That was the case here, but, actually you have me rethinking this bike. Those power figures aren’t really much more that the SV650 I owned until I got the T120.
Handle bars do not look low. How were your knees? Extreme or relaxed position?
I am thinking of changing my second bike (Kawasaki Vulcan S) which looks great and I love but only for less than one hour or so as I find the feet forward even on the least FF position and the handlebars raked back kills my lower back a) due to age and b) due to major back issues. Thinking Kawasaki Z900RS but, hmm, this looks like fun if only I could get on with the ergonomics.

Ah, looked at website and thought, that’s not similar to my SV. I misheard when you stated the power! Yep, a beast.

Hi Den. Z900 RS. If you want a cruiser though maybe wait for the Royal Enfield SG650. Another alternative , BSA Goldstar. Hitting showrooms in the Autumn. 👍

PS. I meant to say. Ergonomics are pretty good. I had a couple of hours on the bike. Feet not too far back so the wrists are ok. Z900 is one I need to get hold of. 👍

Road mode is twitchy ha ha motorcycle is boring unless it’s in track mode which I have to continuously switch on every time I cycle the key😢
