Great and informative vlog. I like the town your riding around in. Very quaint.
Just rolled over 12K miles on my 18' ST RS with zero issues. I've done some 3-4 day tours and a handful of track days and weekend rides in the country. I did add a small Puig windscreen, Givi hand guards and added the OEM heated grips which really helps with the comfort on longer rides.
The bike is a great allrounder. I'm getting a little long in the tooth (bumping 60) and the bike really fulfills my motorcycling needs.
I checked the valve clearance per the manual and they were well within spec. The 765, like its predecessor 675, is a bulletproof mill. Chain/ sprockets are original with just minor adjustment. I do keep it cleaned and lubed every 300 miles or so.
Ride safe and cheers from the US!

Thanks! Yes nice little town isn’t it but some would say otherwise 😁 cracking bikes these aren’t they I must say I’m a massive lover of the heated grips tbh I bet the hand guards also help keep the cold off too. Those chain and sprocket’s have done well at 12k. Cheers Jake.

I've have owned a 2014 Striple 675r since 2016. 62,000 kilometres.. (38,000 aprox miles). ...At 40,000K I changed the fork oil, the coolant, brake fluid and always change the engine oil myself....I use Castrol 10W-50 fully synthetic, changed after about 10,000K. ...Oil is cheaper than spare parts...My bike is shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 tyres mainly because they last longer than the original Corsa tyres and are plenty 'grippy' for me. The only engine mods is a 'quick shifter,' K&N air filter and an Exan Italian slip on exhaust. The combination of free flow filter and exhaust has given smoother throttle response, plus I believe faster acceleration and slightly better fuel economy. Never regretted buying the Triple, its light, with good set up of the suspension handles beautifully and is a joy to ride...I would recommend a Striple to anyone contemplating this style of bike....

That’s brilliant Brian! It’s great to hear you get on well with it and also the maintenance you do on the bike. Cheers Jake.

Road mode on weekdays and Sport on weekends. Great as a daily commuter for me, mainly due to the smooth engine at low revs, manageable engine heat at stop go traffic, lightweight handling and comfortable seat, though i'd swap out the supercorsa as they're terrible on wet, I had mine swapped to Rosso 3's.
Only niggle I have is the sporty riding position puts some weight on my wrists and they hurt after awhile.

Yes she's good one Jake I like them a lot would you put an after market screen on yours then . My XJR has a what I would say really small screen if ya can call it that and that actually helps , I have seen people have taken them off and put them back because it does make a difference .It sounds good to ,if I had modes on my bike I would probably just set one up and leave it . Good watch : )

Thanks Malcolm! I personally think there a really great all rounder but would possibly find it a bit annoying on faster roads due to wind so would maybe try a screen. Cheers Jake.

The biggest problem of using an STR as a daily are the tyre and servicing costs. 7,000 miles per year will see a new set of tyres, plus some pretty major services at 10K, 18K, 24K etc. So you're probably looking at twice the expense of running an average car.

Yes could certainly get a bit pricey taking all that into account. Maybe a daily rider through the summer months. Cheers Jake.

My display always flittered between night mode and day mode. Something wrong with it there but I know they all do that. Yep I keep it in sport mode. I do get a pain in my clutch had on very long rides that takes about 2 days to go away. I mostly do use the clutch rather than the quickshifter just because old habits die hard. I’m 53… so not that young… Old enough to be a grandfather if I’m honest lol. Re: heated grips, yes they come in handy in winter and I put them on after my fingers nearly froze off one morning gees they were painful - I thought I must have had frostbite… but on the whole it’s not as cold here so the naked bike thing works better in Sydney I’d imagine.

Hi 👋 yes mine seems to constantly switch between day and night modes especially when it’s overcast. I also generally use the clutch especially at lower speeds as I said in video it can’t do the gearbox much good with quick shifter/Blipper. Must say the heated grips are a game changer tbh especially here in the UK. Take care Jake.

@@RiderReviews A properly set up quickshifter actually causes less wear in the gearbox than using the clutch.
