I test rode a speed twin offered a test after I had been on a kawasaki z900rs and I fell in love with the speed twin. I am not a triumph fan and like jap bikes but by crikes that speed twin is a mover indeed

I went on Fuzzy's Biker's , Nifty 350 here in Iowa , lots of 350's a few 500's , on the ride you couldn't tell the difference and looks are close , my 500 kept pace fine and it's paid for so sticking with it ................ thanx for the ride Keith and thanx for the video Jack

I also have D30 armour - The only down side is - the armour can move inside the jacket pockets. Not offering any or hardly any protection - but is better than nothing i guess.

I have a bullet trials total mileage of 60 ,in running it in,I am using redex upper cylinder lubricants to reduce the stress,it seems to be cooler after a run

Hi Jack, My name is Pete, (using my wife's UA-cam) I hope all well, I am a new subscriber, but I have watched your channel for a good while, in fact it was one of your videos that got me to buy the classic 500 Enfield, I purchased one of the last before they finished production because of the exhaust emission laws, mine is in the dessert storm colour. I really enjoyed your videos and reviews, but you haven't put anything on for a year, so I hope all is well, I haven't passed my test yet hope to do it sometime in the future, I'm not to far away from Chester, maybe some day we could meet up and have a coffee and maybe take a ride out to that finest pub in Cheshire The Pheasant Inn, and have one of those fine cold Guinness on a lovely summers day, by the way I am 62, and I also purchased the 650 interceptor, so when I have passed my test I can ride further afield possibly Yorkshire Whitby, Scarborough etc, So hope alls well Jack, hope to see some new videos soon All the best Pete

From what temperature does the jacket become too hot to wear in the summer on a bike?

I have heard from owners of both that the 500 has much more pull from stop than the 350.

Would be helpful - To many viewer & potential buyers of this jacket If you could state your height & the jacket size. Not everybody can walk in to a store & try on different sizes.

how true is the fit of the Biltwell vs the Bell please?

I have a 2021 Bonneville T100 and a 2022 RE Interceptor. The Bonnie costs 1.5 times the RE and if you can afford it, I’d say buy the Bonnie because it’s 1.5 times the bike. Better engine, better brakes, better suspension, better switch gear, better service intervals, better reliability, better fuel economy, and better range on a tank. But at 1.5 times the cost difference they are both the same value for money. (My interceptor won’t go into third anymore after 9000kms….lucky it’s inside of warranty….unlucky that it’s going to take the local dealer 5 months to get the parts in to fix it).

What size do you take in the Bonanza?

I purchased a 2011 thruxton june of 2023 with 2000 miles on the clock and with many desirable mods. I'm 68 and its a fountain of youth. Very high quality a joy to ride. I have owned @30 bikes Goldwing Harleys dirt bikes. This triumph will be my forever bike easy to handle a pleasure to ride. And gets plenty of attention at the stops. I endorse Triumph as a brand that captures the soul of what a motorcyclist needs.

Just another RE 650 commercial. Heavy and under powered full of cheap parts.

Mine lasted 1 year, looks good, but did not last, shame.

I have a classic 500. I test rode a 350. I will never sell my 500. It is absolutely unique, rattly and vibrates horribly. But what an interesting thing to sit upon. The 350 is far more comfortable and usable as a day to day rider, I may end up with both.

Others have explained this to you but you insist everyone is wrong and have “drank the marketing KoolAid”. I won’t repeat what they have said but you really ought to take another look. D3O is CE certified so there is a level of testing to these that adhere to European/UK standards. Had the armor failed the tests it legally would not have been allowed to be sold as motorcycle armor. And clearly they adhere to CE ratings as they are still around and in many pieces of safe/high quality gear. Knowing the standards D3O would have to meet to be CE rated, it’s quite obvious the tech is not exactly smoke and mirrors. Truth is, it’s great armor for all kinds of riders. I’m lucky to have never had to rely on my D3O, but know of others that did and it saved them from far worse injuries. If you are still really concerned about the armor, you’re better off checking the actual tests, what they test for, and their results, rather than make a video that just embarrasses yourself.

Enjoyed your video. Wonderful, concise comparison. Helpful? More so than any other video. Today I find myself bike less and just enjoying my next purchase decision. 10 years ago I think the Speed Twin would have won favor. Today I think the T120 will win the day.
