    As a scandinavian manager I demand that all my players embrace my viking spirit. If any of them think they're jaded I drop them to reserve team which have endurance+resistance scedualed 5 days a week. If they get injured they lack the heart to play football for me. Nobody reached the top by resting all day.

    Also, one of the things to add after a match day is Goalkeeping training. Goalkeepers do not tire pout as much and can train to 100% on the next day, or even on double intensity if you set it on the rest tab.

    This is a great video mate!!! Before seeing this I would leave the team training to my assistant, now having seen this I will be attempting it myself. There are a lot of aspects and methods to training which made it very daunting for the casual player. You have clarified so much in under 30 minutes!! Well done mate keep it coming as you are really contributing and helping me and probably lots of others enjoy FM so much more.👌👌👌👌👌

    this season with Athletic Bilbao i began to rely very much on *recovery training* , since i had many injuries at the beginning because of playing with an intense pressing style. I shall therefore give the advice of putting even 2 or 3 instead of 1 recovery training between matches. This combined with some good fitness coaches will make players get less injuries and don't miss important matches, also they'll have less risk of injury (something i always look while selecting my XI team for a match). Plus, the rest panel from training section is something i manually fix after every training day in order to have always low injury risks

    Mentoring only effects professionalism ,determination, and ambition, other stats change over time naturally even without tutoring. I’m not saying it can’t be effected, but as of right I now, there’s no prof that I know of. Also position does not matter that much aside from learning player traits. What’s more important is players influence and players fame .

  • @johnconnor7055
    @johnconnor7055 4 роки тому

    One small correction is that mentoring doesn't effect hidden non-personality attributes such as consistency. Working out how training actually works is my current project, but I'm still in the theorizing stage. Here are a few of my guesses: The big 4 attributes are natural fitness, stamina, work rate and professionalism. These directly or indirectly substantially promote happiness, performance and progress. 'Balance' for example only promotes performance. Professionalism can't be trained, but the other three are all done by 'endurance'. The only drawback to it is fatigue is 'greatly increased', but if you have a big squad with regular rotation, it's actually a bonus because match fitness is kept high and rotation helps avoid complacency. I think the 'general' training is probably a waste. Players have limited PA and training slots, so why spend it on keeping irrelevant attributes even just steady instead of prioritizing the good and letting the bad fall? After the big 4 comes teamwork, off the ball and acceleration. This is my conclusion after assessing how all positions are effected. 'Teamwork' training doesn't just increase the attribute, it is important for learning the tactics and team cohesion, so it is crucial. For 'off the ball', 'chance creation' and 'attacking wings' train it. General 'tactical' is probably also worth doing once every so often, as it trains both teamwork and off the ball and some other pretty important attributes like anticipation. 'Quickness' for acceleration and 'Resistance' for the work rate, but the latter is primarily to serve the defense. 'Aerial defense' also important for defense players. For those hectic weeks, replace physicals with GK training (primarily 'shot stopping') and 'set piece delivery' (trains all set piece attributes generally). If you have a rotating squad, only 1 'recovery' after each match is needed, zero rest. I don't have any data yet except my own save, in which things have been going without issue except that my GK seems to be suffering from just 1 'shot stopping' slot per week. Getting an additional general 'goalkeeping' slot is probably a good idea, just to keep attributes steady. I reckon it's best the goalkeeper is the one who suffers/stagnates, as its only 1-2 players to replace and progressing a youth is less likely in the GK position because of the greater years to full maturity.

    So i have been playing this game for years and i still really don't know for sure and everywhere on the interweb i look seems to say different things, but with position/role/duty training is this solely to re-train a position or role like you mention or if a player is put on a position they already know lets say a forward but you put him on a role he isn't great at lets say a pressing forward are the highlighted attributes what he is going to be focusing on or is that simply just going to improve his ability to play that role???? or both lol

    I've found that mentoring the players who you want to create bonds together should go in the same groups, i.e. Central defensive partnerships = all 'DCs' in one group, or, Attacking central midfielders and strikers, ( all Central midfielders/Left sided players/Right sided players).
    COHESION is awesome but the hardest dynamic to raise. Make sure you use accept the inter-squad friendly on the first day and then slam in all 3x TEAMWORK, (match prep) every week or as often as possible.

    Quick question : for the U18 and U23 Coaches, I think the only reason to have them is when you want an improved youth setup and they specifically tell you how many of those coaches you have to employ in order to maintain it. Am I understanding this correctly or are there other (important) reasons to have these young coaches?
    Great content btw, lots of useful info, for amateurs and experiences FM players alike.

    It’s a year later so shot in the dark but how do you deal with dissatisfaction with individual training. I put a midfielder on passing focus. Arrows pointed up, assistant told me he was benefiting from it but the player started to get lippy because he thought it wasn’t benefiting him. It happens ALL the time. I. Don’t. Get. It.

    I'm not sure if you've done this yet, and it will be a heavy task - but I'd love to see a video on all possible playable roles and how they can interact with one another tactically. Bustthenet (if you know him) just released a handbook on tactical guides. But upon reading it, I'm left with about ten times as many questions as before.
    To give an example imgur.com/a/JawMl0T - this tactic. Questions it raises to me are, for example:
    1. How does a Mezzala interact with an IW? In Possession in attack, the IW is likely to cut inside quite often, into the half-space. That is exactly the space where the Mezzala acts as well. This looks to me like it's either going to push the IW to play as a W or it's going to have the 2 roles run into each other.
    2. Why does he use an IWB on the right if he has "overlap on the right" on? The IWB is going to play as a DM in possession, so how does he overlap? Or will he overlap if the IF cuts inside? No explanation to this is given in the guide.
    3. What's the point of using the normal "DM" role instead of something more specific like BMW, or Anchor man? That's a question that has boggled my mind for a long time.
    4. Why low crosses? Is his f9 specfiically short but agile?
    5. Doesn't shorter passing in possession conflict with passing into space? Of course you can pass into space shortly, but mostly we're talking about KDB type through balls for the latter, right?
    This is obviously no low effort stab towards the person I mentioned, but just goes to show what type of questions this raises to me. And it's nearly impossible to find anything about this anywhere online.
    Thanks for this training vid. I thought I knew a lot, but I learned some more - as is normal for the game!

    • @WizoIstGott
      @WizoIstGott 4 роки тому +2

      I can answer some of these questions, question 2 I can´t because I don´t have experience with IWB:
      1. Imagine it like that: You regain possesion in the midfield, you will counter and the ball will go to your IW. Your IW gives it short to the mezzala while moving inside, your mezzala can now play it to the left to the overlapping FB, through the gap into the IW cutting inside, back to DM, square to your IF on the right cutting inside, or safely to the AP on the right who has plenty of options again. Having your tactic set up like this is about movement, you won´t be blocking each others space if you move, you will if you loose tempo. This is why this setup is used in Gegenpress.
      3. I would imagine he wants a somewhat creative role in DM , but he doesn´t wanna go full DLP because he allready has a playmaker in central midfield.
      4. If you play with 2 inverted player roles on the wing, especially on attack, your wingers will be going to the second post quite often. These guys tend to be short, same for F9´s.
      5. It´s not a conflict. Your general passing style will be short, this means you will build up with short passes but your players are actively encouraged to look for through balls while doing so. So your gameplan with this is to create holes in defense with short passing and then play throughballs into these gaps.

    • @TheMrMantequilla
      @TheMrMantequilla 4 роки тому

      I can’t really add much to questions 1. And 3. Pretty spot on.
      For no. 2 the “overlap right” doesn’t tell the IWB to overlap, it tells the team to actively pass to the IWB if he overlaps. So like you mentioned when the IF cuts inside leaving that space the IWB will overlap and if the IF passes to a mid or turns around they will pass to him.
      No.4 usually when using “work ball into box” it comes paired with low crosses. Mainly cause most F9 are small, but kind of like the way Man city plays they try to pass ball in the box and keep balls low. I recommend low crosses or mixed more times than not. I Never really used float or whipped.
      No.5 Dont forget there are also player instructions. So while your team is told to pass short you can set KDB to be more risky, or make longer passes. Also if he has the trait “killer balls” he will still attempt. But no it won’t conflict, depending on the roles and duty they are on will tell you how that player will work within the tactic.

  • @laurynasbudinas8552
    @laurynasbudinas8552 4 роки тому

    Great content! Quick question. Would you consider adding traits for players in very lower league (vanarama league). I thing it would be useful for my strikers to round keeper for example. Thanks!

    • @TheMrMantequilla
      @TheMrMantequilla 4 роки тому

      Laurynas Budinas yeah if they are able to learn them. A striker that can round keepers or beat off side paired with a mid that tries killer balls could wreck in the lower leagues.

    Is this still relevant for FM21? I'm worried my wonderkid needs a hands on approach, here at fiorentina you're lucky to even get a sniff of a future wonder-baller with the EU player signing and registration rules etc. Although he might be ok anyway, he's currently 9 goals in his first 7 starts this year in Serie A, not bad for an 18 year old following his measley 37 goals in 42 starts last year at 17 years old, this kid honestly!

    Awesome video: training and scouting are my fav tools in the game and always handle training for every level. Training for senior team and youth teams are different. For youth teams I don’t care about match results but care about player progression so my schedules focus on more attribute training and less tactical familiarity. The senior team is all about results so tactical familiarity and match prep are more common. Also for youth players under the rest tab if they are 80-89/>90 condition I have it set to double intensity and everyone is set to automatic except players who have the “susceptible to injuries” trait then they are always on normal intensity or half.

    • @TheMrMantequilla

      Depends on the position as well. GK take longer to reach their peak so 22 yr goalie is still a baby in football years. Also I think after 23 depending on personality and all that attributes grow a lot slower.
