Alright men check this out... I bought these exact pair 2 months ago. For $100 dollars the quality really is worth it! I saw a few reviews before I bought them and on video they look darker than in person, they are lighter when you go outside and wear them out an about, with some black/ white jeans they look amazing! The crape bottom will get dirty and black within a week or wearing them depending on the environment. For a boot they are very comfortable and fit snug, get true to size. I am warning you now DO NOT use shoe cleaner called Crep Protect on these boots. DO NOT. I spilt some coffee on them and quickly cleaned that spot but noticed that the spot I cleaned literally got a shade darker. So I had no choice to use the cleaner on both and now they are both a whole shade darker which is a bummer. Although they did remove the stain, it was not worth the change of color overall. Hope this helps!

Jeff, I got my new suede Chelsea boots last week by Joseph Abboud. Absolutely love them for a lot of the same reasons why you like the New Republic. Big difference, the Abboud have a smaller pull tab in the back and it’s the same color as the rest of the boot.

I didn't like the pull tab at first either but it grew on me. Its a nice touch of colour. And for that price you wont find any other chelsea boots with that quality.

a leather lined shoe for less than $100? that's insane. we need companies like this in europe. we have great higher end stuff (>£300 shoes in britain) but the direct-to-consumer companies like new republic and thursdayboots we don't have anything similar to, as far as I can see
I love my New Republic Chelsea boots also.
I bought these 3 months ago and did 2 RMAs. My boots were messed up both times where the plastic fused with creep sole and tore. It was like melted into it. I still like the boot but bad experience

The Style O.G. Looking at your unboxing it looks like they changed the packing and plastic. It used to be in a more meshy material that was causing the issue so it should be okay now

Do you have to go down half a size with these boots? I wear a size 9 in converse and a 10 in thicker soled shoes like Adidas. I have a pair of Sperry suede chukka's that I had to downsize to 8.5. The 9s had too much toe room. Is this the standard with all chukka and Chelsea boots? Or is there a chance the 9s would fit me properly as my converse do?

The Style O.G. Kevin Samuels said something that hit home with me. Guys wear high tops and Jordan’s year round and they get hot! So he wears his Chelseas during the summer. It made me go hmm. I might wear mine to dress up some jeans on date nights.

I’ve always had weird luck with Chelsea boots. They always run weird for me. For most of them I have to wear a size down form my normal size (so I’m going down from a size 10 to a size 9). The biggest problems I usually have is that they’re really loose around the ankles or that they’re too narrow on the toes. Can anybody tell me if they’ve had these problems with this model?
What are these jeans called?
I wear a thirteen but I find that some boots are cut funny . I also found that some boots and shoes tend to feel differently according to the sock your wearing. So was your sock dress casual or dress sock ? And I too am not a fan of the pull strap although I understand the function of it .

Do you know the difference between the New Republic Chuck and Houston both in Sand, apart from the pull tab colours? I can't for the life of me see any other difference. Am I missing something?

Bought a pair of cheap Chelsea Boots back in November, which didnt snug around my ankles and ended up being uncomfortable wearing in the long run.. Is the New Republiq ones tight at the ankles? If so, is it annoyingly tight sitting and irritating?

width not listed Cal, would assume normal width. Size is given as 11.5 US and 45 EUR..
