ATTENTION! I am a complete idiot and installed the Okie bushing in the 1935 Chevy wrong. There is a washer inside the torque tube that needs to be removed prior to installing the Okie bushing. DO NOT do what I did in this video, unless you like doing things twice. - an important announcement from future Kyle

After struggling for 3 years to get my ‘37 Olds fixed up and presentable, now I find this channel. A couple hours of “The Joy of Metal Shaping with Kyle”, would’ve save me days of offending my neighbors with a lot of loud cussing. “f@$!#$& freeze up on the equator in the middle of July”.

Hi Kyle. Glad old knocky is going to a good home. I imagine it can be rebuilt but don't know exactly how that works with babbitt bushings. I've seen it done on machinery and they basically pour liquid babbitt into the gap where it needs to go and let it cool. There's probably some trimming after that but I'm not sure. Painting the diff for the '35 added at least 10 horsepower!

I suspect CDN Tire or Princess Auto. Good enough for the Hutterites, good enough for Kyle.

The knocking engine was on it's last leg, I surprised that it ran as well as it did. You need to put your business name on the door of the 50 chevy truck. Maybe hand paint it, and antique it, so it looks like it's been there for several years.

Hi John, I was definitely surprised at how good the engine ran. I used to want a truck with the shop logo on the doors, but now that I have a youtube channel and people have started showing up at my house unannounced, I don't think it would be a good idea to advertise haha

@@CarterAutoRestyling The trick is, don't use your name, and put an old phone # on it, like a 5 digit number that they had back in the 50's. Maybe BR549, from Hee Haw?

Glad old Knocky found a new home. That should free up some space. Most people do not know who Josef Suk is but you have used his music several times. I definitely approve. Cheers! 😎👍🛻🐔🏁🏁

I'll admit I didn't discover his music until about a year ago, but I'm really enjoying it!
