I aim to create high level, yet easy to understand content for healers in M+ keystones for current World of Warcraft and into the new War Within expansion. If you have any feedback, questions, or ideas for new videos - I'd love to hear it in the comments.
TL;DW: He will stop playing healers and entirely devot his WoW Career to becoming the best Delve Player there ever was
King of the mole people!
Mole people rejoice
mole king !
he will reroll mage and continue the jangbi arc
The M+ King is dead....
Long live the Delve King!
Will this also be your main for delves? Are you sure its optimized for subterranian exploration? MolePeople
BUMP. Growl delve main confirmed alongside Half Life 3
Apparently Growl has decided that he is going to pop off in TWW. Content is rolling. Hope you don't burn out man
@@guffels this is their peak, right before an expansion before the views fall off after release.
As a preservation main, i completely understand the satisfaction that comes with playing the spec. It has an incredible amount of versatility depending on what is required. They deal with burst very well, and have decent coverage for rot damage as well.
Growl in this video: "Welcome to Who's Main is it Anyway, the show where everything's made up and the Aug doesn't matter." LMAO
Dude, I love that you're pumping out so much healer content!
kinda hilarious that I started looking into pres literally today as an potential alt and then both jak and you uploaded pres-videos. Can't wait for the guide+gameplay.
thanks a lot Growl , for sharing insights, knowledge and experience for better understanding advantages and disadvantages of all healers overall.
He's gonna main the meta healer, night elf race
dwarf if he feels spicy
Nice to hear that double evoker isn’t a turbo grief. As a dev main Aug being OP makes my life sadge.
Pres became my favorite spec basically as soon as I tried it. All the different ways spells interact make it super engaging for me, and I enjoy playing a spec that came out around the time I started taking the game more seriously as oppose to something like rdruid that people have mained for 10+ years already.
Damn the Tettles Range key
Both you and Jak came to the same conclusion separately! Really it’s just how well preservation is pumping right now. It’ll be interesting to see what happens if they nerf the spec
I mained Prevoker in DF and REALLY enjoyed it in guild runs/raid, but man, healing in M+ pugs could be REALLY rough. Telling the same warlock 5 times in one run "Hey, if you max range on the other side of the boss I can't get to you." Still not 100% decided on what to play but kinda leaning towards something like HPal/MW
M+? What the hell? I thought you were going to be a Delve main. Brann will never forgive you now.
Big respect for maining a less popular spec. I also have been having fun on pres and am gonna alt it, so it'll be cool to see how you're playing it.
A bold pick and I hope you enjoy it. I tried pres at the start of DF and did not really like it. It has gotten much better as they have tinkered with it though. In the end though the limited range is just too much for me. I play with my guild but we are not the most well oiled machine so it is more pug like in some ways. Every so often I pull out my evoker thinking it can't be that bad but then we do a sloppy run with 2 hunters on exact opposite sides at all times and by the end I am just miserable and want to pull my hair out in frustration. If they would just extend the range on some of the casted spells I would love to play it more or even main it.
In the end it is a game and should be fun and if it feels good to you run with it! Good luck!
I also rolled evoker at the start of dragon flight. Was playing pres, found it to be nice but the range killed it for me. Might take a look at it again but I’m thinking of resto sham main and frost dk alt
they should keep everything 30yd range but make echo 45yd range. would make it way more fun and add even more interactivity. cause u can heal them but only through echo, so maybe u wanna take titan's gift and spend the buffed echoes on the stupid mm hunter and spriest stood 43 yards away
Honestly the hardest part about getting into preservation is the lack of resources. I try to look up guides on UA-cam and there’s only like 2 pres mains
Bowser the Healer ftw
Just go back and look up guides from 10.0 and 10.1 when there was no Augmentation(Aug was 10.1.5 right)d The class hasnt really changed since then tbh.
Also to be perfectly honest, just try feeling it out. The breath charge ups are a gimmick but just consider them a cast timer, after that just start hitting buttons and see what works where. PVP especially 2v2 arena is one of the best places to train on how to heal in a short amount of time because it makes you heal under high stress and heavy damage constantly. You rapidly learn what the important spells are, what keeps you alive and what you can/cant cast in order to save someone in time.. The real problem I have giving advice about the class is I dont remember the names of the moves as well.
TL;DR- if you've played a healer before, you'll get it.
@@spurdosparde7494 honestly, never considered that. Genuinely thank you. Lol
@@Snaxarus You're welcome my dude glad I could be of help.
Played it since S1 dragonflight and honestly most guides are generic cookie cutter that won't help you push extremely high but generic enough to get your portals.
I think it’s really interesting to hear your thought process on which healer you’ve chosen to play
As a pres main since DF beta I love seeing the spec doing well. It's the most fun class I've ever played in this game over the last 15 years of main healing.
i am primarily a dps player and ever since blizz added preservation it has been my favorite spec in the whole game. Whoever designed it cooked!
I was already thinking about playing pres as my main healer for the new season and this has solidified it for me!
Congrats on your choice of healer main. Also makes sense to have flex healers for certain bosses in raid. I'm looking forward to your future content playing Pres Evoker.
At least now there's a video to link when people ask this question every 3 minutes during stream.
been stuck between pres, and hpal. this video didn't help because i was kinda leaning towards pally, but now its brought back to even lol
I think Hpal just got smacked by the nerf hammer again, so no telling what happens in the next few weeks
@@giorno9840 fwiw, I think the Hpal nerfs aren't going to be too bad because their hero talents are strong
@@joerobinson4844 at best I’m completing a 12 lol as long as they’re not in the dirt I think I’ll be alright lol
If I could be a cow I would pick Evoker too. Excited to learn more as you play this class. The combos kind of break my brain at the moment. Thanks for the UI and all of the videos.
Would love to see an in-depth guide about pres from you!
Congrats for picking Prevoker and not just going for meta. Big brain move. At least for now 😉. Very interesting spec. Things like Echo everyone into Verdant Embrace applying Lifebind for extra Emerald Communion gains are the things that make this spec more interesting than meets the eye. And there is more combinations of spell and pots synergies out there. Huge arsenal just waiting to explore its potential.
Picking prevoker in a season where Aug will be needed more than ever is the most based thing I've ever heard.
Pres is a good healer, first one I healed on in dragonflight. But so far looks like I am moving from dps and heals to tanking. But too much alt adhd so probably healing again at some point lol. Keep up the great videos
would love a Holy Pala melee guide, they look so fun for WW
saw this coming with how much you've been playing it lately on stream. It'll be interesting to see how far you can go with it and I'm looking forward to the content
Keep pumping the content out, healer cat! ❤
I blame you and dorki for keeping me coming for back to this game. A good class review always gets me excited
I want to play druid or monk, but I will be maining shaman more than likely, simply because of the utility it provides. I will be mostly pugging or playing with friends (none of us are any good, just ksm players). Cap totem, stone ele, thunderstorm, a super fast kick, strong throughput cooldowns. All those things seem too good to give up in a pug or not super coordinated group. Not sure about the hero route, but totemic seems to be the ultimate pug tool as almost anything you do spams a free chainheal.
I mained pres in DF and, for me, it's currently a toss-up between pres and shaman for TWW. I like how pres feels but I like the utility that shaman brings, particularly with poison and curse dispels. I have a feeling that in pugs, shaman will frustrate me less :).
yippee as a prevoker main i love to see this, i hope you have lots of fun with the spec.
I think Aug will be meta early when the survival it gives to people is really useful because the easy strats haven' been discovered, taught by the content creators then made their way into the standard practices. But I think Blizz have nerfed Aug damage bonuses enough that when it comes to high keys they will be acceptable but not mandatory.
I carried my guild in s1 (we petered out before s2) as Pres Evoker and hated when doing keys with the other healer because I do not enjoy Dev, so I'm happy to have Aug and may be playing that more than Pres to carry my guild as much as possible in our return for TWW. Being able to top the dps meters, handle a lot of the cc/interrupts and provide substantial survival making the healers job easier seems valueable for lower skilled players and pugs.
Good choice. I have chosen Resto Shaman. Not for any meta reason. I started playing it in Season 3 of DF (Dragonflight was me going full time healer main) and I got so good so fast that it was the first time I got all the portals in one season. Yesterday in the pre patch I did some M+ since I am testing different builds and did a HOI 16 which left me ecstatic. Will both hero talents being good I am confident. :D
I mean for me I was actually pretty close to playing pres as a main, there were two things that make it iffy for me. The first is mostly it just doesn't bring much to the table for a group or raid that aug doesn't do better. The second was the range limitation just kills a lot of the fun for the class for me. It was fine when I was with guildies but pugging is just a nightmare. The fact is that typically I pug a lot of the time as well which makes that an important consideration. That said I actually don't mind aug in groups so it very well could be an alt.
The difference between how fun the healers for me right now is insanely close that it really comes down to small details. This is probably the first expansion where something like not loving the dps spec factors into it because it really is so close. I still have not finalized my main yet which is surprising. This is really the closest it has even been between healers. I have been waffling between druid, paladin, and shaman. I am leaning towards shaman main, then leveling druid then paladin/evoker.
I actually think you hit the nail on the head growl. HPS is going to bee very important and pushing up health bars fast. and I think Pres is going to be the class that does it best. Hpal weakness is mana and some AoE healing so it may have issues. A lot of the single target damage mobs do seem to be intentional and making DPS players forced to use defensives and pres has a 1 minute external that can help. Rdruid feelsbadman. I think the big competitor will be Rsham. I feel like Rsham is going to be very VERY good. Only issue they have is they provide zero externals they can toss on someone but heling surge is a HUGE ST heal.
I'm very suprised but excited to see what you can achieve with it
The need to give another class the "Support" skill set so its not just Aug competing against the world.
Big fan of this, big fan of growl, big fan of pres, what could be better? Hope it’s here to stay
Keep up the great work who cares if you make a video someone else already discussed its good to hear different point of views or thoughts on things u could come across sometime someone else missed keep the videos coming your doing great 👍 ps....love the cat 🐈
Appreciate you giving my spec an honest try. Pls don't get it nerfed :)
Glad to hear you’re going Prev. Was super sad that Aerith was taking a break. Not that you could replace her but happy to have another person to watch.
pres is fotm reroll for mythic week. see you on shaman and druid soon enough
Aug is the sole reason I'm not playing pres next season tbh.
Since I Pug gonna stick with R Shaman. My alt will be Prevoker
It was just less than 10 hs ago when you decided the Thumbnail and the title of the video. Editor goes brrrrrrrr
Pres. Never saw that coming.
Honestly same, i assumed he’s just gonna do the usual “my main is basically most meta healer”.
Refreshing to see.
Doubt he will follow thru with Pres. Once the Meta becomes clear, he will drop his Evoker.
@Aggrofool ya ur right aug is just meta. Only support spec in the game. The season 4 comp was great on the beta.
@@Aggrofool Well Evoker is meta rn. In S2 he is gonna play another meta healer. Or straight after Evoker nerf if it happens in S1.
@@shadowbanned3044 Pres Evoker is def not meta with Aug being king
I feel safe when a Pres is healing. When a druid is healing, I'm like meh. A lot of R Druids don't Rejuv roll so there is no possible way they could swiftmend you in an orderly fashion. R Druid is like Z tier at the beginning of xpacs, I'd rather play Pres or a R Sham.
Great video Growl! I loved following you diving deep into Pres in S1 dragonflight so this'll be fun to see again with all the changes!
I love prevoker. Because so many don’t seem to.
Im exacly in the same boat. I went from druid (with low haste) to prevoker and man its like day and night.
Tbh for healing I am sticking to prevoker because I have enjoyed it too much in mythic raiding.
However with TWW I kinda like mistweaver because it allows sooo many builds where usually it does not.
Ninda like the flexibility you get as druid too.
However balance will feel terrible and the direction the game is taking with meta and difficulty (damage paterns) is not for me so I might just kinda hold off with wow and stick to my wife. I'm just in my 20s but I feel like a lot of people near my age feel the same with wow nowadays...
Feel like S1 will just be about throuput and currently nothing comes close to pres for continous, high healing. Im going to wait and see what the nerfs/buffs from heroic raiding bring
Everyone knows, Growl is retiring from healing and completely unleashes Jangbi on the world.
you have made pres seem fun as hell during the last few days
"I feel like I can keep up with them and not be a drag" - looks down at the character model - "oh"
I’m on the fence with Pres and Priest. Still not entirely made up, but the video helped.
I'm probably maining holy pally. I pug lots of m+ and I could not deal with running around after them with the short range of evoker.
hopefully we wont get nerfed to the ground:(
chasing people around pugs definately killls pres a little for me also
Not even a healer main, just love to listen to you
I'm all down for watching some class pres game, we'll be here binging man!
Pumped for Pres Growl next expansion! I still can't decide between HPally and Pres Evoker myself for a main
Short range healer has to be the dumbest gimick
Mists last boss is the reason I don't feel like playing pres
Hey growl! Would love to see a video about why you swapped to Cell instead of vuhdo and some tips and tricks on how to set cell up!
Watching the video part of y'all doing the spider dung RP stuff makes me really worried for pugging
I have thought about maining pres, this is very much helping me think that I may really make that decision lol.
And here I was thinking Shadow Priest chip healing was nice.
And here I was, innocently thinking you had a shamanistic soul !
double aug freudian slip, the stuff of nightmares
you and i both know it doesnt matter what you say if something else is meta everyones gunna play it
Currently maining heal in FFXIV and seeing your footage tempts me to resub. FFXIV healers have a looot less going on in a dungeon/raid.
I think aug evoker is cool concept but I don't think it will be OP either, it might be useful for m+ runs but not required.... otherwise blizz will prob bring in the nerfbat to make them less powerful or less utility to balance out.... and will prob suffer the classic "hybrid/support tax" which means less dps then others. I thnk its funny how some people act like augmentation evoker is the first time warcraft has had a support focused class..... since original vanilla both shaman and paladin were designed as hybrid support classes for each faction. Before "augmentation" they had "enhancement" lol..... They brought tons of useful buffs, offheals, and had mid dps. Its been around forever, even if aug evoker is maybe more evolved version of a support class. But hey, preservation evoker healing seems unique and interesting playstyle, and will prob be pretty good as a new class.... having augmentation as a backup spec is a good way to go about it.
Awesome, hopefully we will see more fellow prevokers
i'm cracking up at the way you say chat will react. i too am swapping my main healer to pres. i tried all the healers and i'll be honest, i think it's time i divorce MW. been playing it since like wod/legion as my healer main. i've always played 2 healers per season/xpac so i usually get around to trying them and i feel the same way. the more i play prez and the better i get at it, the more i feel like a driver or decision maker in dungeon situations vs being a passenger to the carnival ride. i encourage more people to play this healer. engulf lowkey needs a nerf lmao, but even chrono warden is fun as hell to play if they overnerf engulf. looking forward to the 2 weeks of content before rerolling gamer o7
good luck for those copying and trying to play this in pugs. RIP
I like these videos. I am trying to decide myself.
I must be a terrible aug player, feel super squishy, damage way lower than everyone else even tho i'm constantly trying to keep buffs up. Am i looking at the spec wrong? is the personal dps going to be low but everyone else will be higher?
Good luck healing the last boss in mists with Pres healing range
My hot take is that the range difference isn't a big deal at all, especially for skilled players. Most of the complaining is just people repeating what they've heard before or bad players using it as an easy excuse for being bad.
k, well if growl does end up playing Aug I'm sure you'll do a great job healing him, champ.
@@afox6088 I'm maining HPal which Blizz just nerfed again 🤷♂️ so I don't think anyone's gonna be calling me champ this season lol
@@dr.zoidberg8666 My hot take is that the nerfs to hpal aren't a big deal at all, especially for skilled players. Most of the complaining is just people repeating what they've heard before or bad players using it as an easy excuse for being bad.
@@afox6088 Might be lol -- but as AutomaticJak pointed out in his most recent video, throughput is king for the healer meta. Everything else is secondary.
Prevoker has great throughput & incredible mobility which in my experience, more than makes up for a slight range disadvantage. The range might be more of a problem if they couldn't zip all around the field whenever they want & relocate their allies to a new zip code at a whim.
Pres and both priest specs are the only ones out of the running for me now. Big doubt between shaman, paladin and monk. Most likely not druid either
I think the title should be "I've Decided on ***OUR*** Healer Main In The War Within"
Looks like I’ll be watching more of your videos
what a coincidence im also maining evoker
"Timer seem to be a lot tighter, and more about doing the dungeon quicker". Sure, but with the tanks nerfs combined with 15 sec timer penalty up from 5 sec, Aug strike me as a lot safer than going glass cannon, blasting through everything and hoping to time it. Ensuring tank survivability and allowing for bigger pulls instead might still be the quicker option. On top of this, even with the recent nerfs, Aug dmg is higher than it's ever been, atleast the logs I've seen.
I hate evoker healers. I refuse to group with them because it forces me to become a melee (I Play caster)
I kind of came to the same conclusion about Pres, but I'm also second guessing myself. How are you feeling about Mistweaver being a solid second choice?
I would like to see your build. Can you post a breakdown of your preservation spec, rotation etc.
Who knows. You could end up fotm rerolling relatively fast, but you could also end up leading the fotm being evoker. I feel like your biggest concern will be finding a set specific team that will keep you to push for world first keys as you guys don't seem to have a set team anymore. You know lots of people but switching out people often still impacts the potential for pushing.
dont press disint kitten its less dps than chrono flame nooooooooooo growl :3
DISINTIGRATE IS WAY MORE FUN TO PRESS NEVER TELL ME THE ODDS
Was sure you were going to play shaman xD
pres in pugs is a nightmare. 30m range is not fun for me 😅
I was really trying to rock priest ontop of my Druid but recently I tried shaman and holy palidan I play a lot of the healers but yah I was realizing how u gotta wipe a few times or stake out mythic dungeons and bosses to know when to cast like a bubble, potions or buffs for armor that’s where damn just damn with how hard shamys cast and how effective they are how nice chain heals and lightning are it’s a blast there isn’t a get out of jail free card like resto druid and priest have like oh shit buttons but it is nice to have a self rez like holy priest, but I was realizing how nice armor and mail is to wear over cloth I’ve always been a caster type and hate how crummy that always felt in pvp all that I’m just really enjoying being a tanky caster for the first time but most of all how important DPS is why I’m actually favoring Pali and shaman now but yah all n all I play Druid balance, shaman resto, Pali holy & priest holy it’ll be nice to get into parties with friends but I always make sure my class heals cuz it helps u get into queues quickest but also yah really enjoy all the cool holy, nature and rain asthetics healing has with those classes it’s really cozy feeling u can just sail through the seasons the weather life and death playin wow
Yeah personally resto druid never felt good after cata to me it wasn’t the best in the past but really any class can be good I find Druid a really high skill ceiling cuz u potentially have to be into alchemy u only really have or had it good in PvP back in the day they still to me fail to excel in one deperatment but Moonkin balance Druids are always welcome into my party they r my main for a reason they feel a lot like pyro from tf2 or something just a fun class I’m glad is in the game irregardless the balance but it’s getting better I just yah had never felt how good armor feels psh Pali and shaman are really nice! Just lil things like being able to walk and cast as a shaman idk they might be one of the best classes in the game still hands down
I hope the [ ? ][ ? ][ ? ] stays forever.
Happy key-ing Growl!
4:15 OH GOD double Aug comp confirmed 💀🙃
That shocked me as well, thankfully he clarified it but I did think, imagine the hate they'd get then if you needed 2 augs per group!😂
I will always be a Resto Druid main for life.
