It has come to my attention that I have dunked on a man that was indeed a character in the first Doctor Strange movie.
Apologies to Michael Stuhlbarg for besmirching his good name.
Please forgive me. 🙏
The random man was from the first Dr strange, and he was talking about the Same stuff they were talking about in Dr strange.... So you really should watch the movie's you critique....
@@mikerotonda6264 It's a cartoon. Breathe.
Perhaps a little research into the first Doctor Strange film wouldn't have gone amiss 🙄
@@mikerotonda6264 You cant blame the man for the character being forgettable xD Nobody knew who he was when we saw him again bruh
@@JAMHOMEBASE I only skimmed DS 1 and even I recognize that guy
The "random" guy in the wedding scene was one of the doctors from the first movie that Strange belittled. Still a weird scene though because no one is going to remember that
The first movie came out 7 years ago.
I definitely forgot who tf that was.
@@y.reviews I did too, lol, I had to google it while in the theater because it was so weird
It's like putting that Iron Man 3 kid in Tony's funeral, like wut.
@@y.reviews Yeah, put a character from the prequel in the sequel WTF who does that
I guess I'm the only one who didn't recognize that kid then. 🤷♂️
"With an infinite number of universes, do we really care about one with dinosaurs?"
Me a simple man: Yes.
Lol fair enough.
Ya I like the one with dinosaurs it looks cool and is intriguing also it’s from the comics
Also maybe it introduce devil dinosaur that be funny
I thought it was a short clue that there's Savage Land among the multiverse?
I understand that a lot of work went into this film, but the fact that the main writer didn’t even know what to do with the 2nd act speaks volumes on how well this film was thought out
Thing is, all writers go through that. Even me writing this video. But you don't go around saying that out loud lol. Especially when it's for an official Marvel behind the scenes interview.
@@y.reviews the crazy deadlines they were given probably didn’t help the creative process either
@@y.reviews it would be fine if the script was good but it's actually incredibly terrible. DS 2 was the biggest disappointment of 2022
@@PeacefulDuck It definitely was for me. Dr. Strange v1 was my favorite marvel film for a decent while
@@PeacefulDuck did love and thunder come out in 2022??
Heavily agree that, for a movie named Multiverse of Madness, we didn't really get to see many other detailed universes. It would've been cool to even catch glimpses of alternate versions of characters or worlds instead of randomly based around weather elements.
I think they had the right idea with the animated universe. Just something that makes you question what else is out there. They should have used that as the base and went crazier from there.
@@y.reviews Yeah, "What if" had some interesting twists from the normal MCU. MoM could've even had a few glimpses of universes where villains like Ego or Hydra succeeded, adding more weight to previous installments.
@@maliciositygames I really enjoyed What If. Took a while to get started for me but I liked how everything tied together by the end. Would've definitely been cool to see some of what you're saying. The possibilities were endless.
Across the Spiderverse movie felt like the Multiverse of Madness than the actual Multiverse of Madness
@@kehan6252 in across the spider-verse they really go weird with it, with a spider-truck and such, and even give you some comic references like bagman, but it never feels bland or uninteresting.
That's what MoM should've done. Show us the earth's mightiest heroes series, show us the comic strange, show us worlds where the villains succeed instead of the heroes.
It's nice to put into words how we feel about the CGI in these movies. Also great that you acknowledged the efforts of pre production that we often take for granted. Love it!
Gotta give them the recognition they deserve.
I honestly saw Wong just being really serious and goving it his all, no breaks. He is messing with a being capable of destroying worlds, so to me it is like every thing he does has everytbing put into it.
Wong always brings it no matter what.
The thing about most "review" channels is that they always seem royaly pissed off about the thing they're reviewing and everything it stands for, bringing a very negative and hateful vibe into the community. But with you, however, you seem a lot more mellow. I don't know if it's your voice, the way you speak, or the music in the background, you bring a more chill and neutral vibe, and it's honestly refreshing.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more of you. :)
I might have come across a few channels that fit your description. Hopefully I can do my part to tip the scales in the other direction. Thanks for your thoughtful comment. More on the way :)
@@y.reviews I hope you can. I'm getting really sick and tired of people being angry with/kicking Marvel while they're down. It honestly makes you wonder if they're really fans who want Marvel to improve, or if they're just grifters who are looking to complain?
2:06 That's a guy from the hospital where Stephen worked on the first movie.
You're right about the underwhelming multiverse aspect. Especially since we got "Everything Everywhere All at Once" this year. Even though the worlds explored weren't anything crazy, it somehow worked.
We also ger a similar scenes of them going through different worlds. While Dr Strange explored a handful different worlds, EEAAO just bombarded the viewer with possibilities.
Both movies are different though, one being a multibillion dollar company trying to expand their superhero franchise and the other being a passionate project of a small team. It is still fun to compare how well they executed the main gimmick of their movies.
That was actually my original idea for this video, comparing and contrasting the two. I liked Everything Everywhere for the possibilities, like hot dog fingers. Multiverse of Madness had the animated and paint universes so there's some creativity points there. Honestly I would've just wanted them to explore that Cyberpunk one a bit.
6:44 If the Mordo really introduced him as Jim Halpert, then that's the real multiverse of madness
Even crazier if it was the Randall Park Jim Halpert.
The delivery of shade is at its best, when done in the coolest and smoothest of baritones...
This is an S Tier comment.
@@y.reviews What can I say, you have a God-Tier voice 😉
What i am really amaze is the Wanda's reality warping in the garden with doctor strange what i feel about it was so very iconic like harry potter iconic level scenes
Love seeing when people appreciate the extra detail people put into film. So many people don’t even notice it, and can’t articulate why something looks good versus when it looks out of place.
The whole wanda Vs Captain marvel sequence was the best cgi I’ve seen in a long time
I honestly have never had much complaints with this movie, it feels like the environment is just slightly grander than other phase 4 projects, most likely because of the practical effects you highlighted
I think it wouldve been a very cool idea if they showed the xmen in the movie, not only proffesor Xavier. And i literaly wanted a Jean Grey Vs Wanda Maximoff Battle.
That would've been insane to see.
Dude, great work! I think you're the only UA-camr that gives credit to the crew and CGI artists. No matter how attrocious the writing decisions are, it's important to appreciate the hard work of the crew and artist that are behind the camera. Cheers!
Thank you. I try to be balanced while calling stuff out. Glad you enjoyed.
Holy shit this is your third video and they are already this well edited and thought out? Wtf man you got talent! Keep putting out videos like these and your channel will grow damn fast! 500k views on your first video?!?! Goddddd damnnn man. Nice job seriously!
Thank you for hyping me up. I'll try to live up to all that haha.
After seeing Everything everywhere all at once and how they handled different universes, multiverse jumps and how multiverse interaction affects a person in a universe....oh boy does the movie titled "multiverse of madness" fall soo short😭😭😭
That's what I'm sayinnn man.
ur voice is very relaxing to listen to as background i hope u continue doing more or longer reviews !!
Glad I can be your background track.
"and the top layer.. is Jim Halpert" xd damn it
This is the best and most engaging review I've seen in ages. I love your channel already, you've got a subscriber and a fan! Looking forward for more.❤️
Thank you very much for watching. 🙏 More coming soon.
excited for more reviews. i love your style
🙏
So good man, keep going with these videos!!
Will do.
Billy and Tommy: We like ice cream like every chi-
Wanda: STOP IT!
There's also a scene where Wong just say YES!!!!.
Yeah that's it.
Yup I considered putting that in. But it went by too fast haha.
such a good video! new favourite channel:)
Thanks man. 🙏
In regards to the mid-credit scene with Clea, I feel like they should retcon that into a dream when the third DS film comes out. That way, we can be given a proper introduction to Clea.
I love that scene as a Doctor Strange fan and a fan of Clea's character, but in context it doesn't match what just happened. Not to mention there's no indication of where this scene is even happening in the timeline. Bottom line, I think a re-introduction that isn't head scratching to audiences is better than just jumping into another adventure, if that makes sense?
I'm not familiar with the comics side of it so watching as the audience, it felt like it came out of nowhere. You're right, no sense of where in the timeline it was happening. Sure seemed like his third eye appeared, he screamed, got back up, and continued walking. Then Clea appeared.
I just instinctively assumed that the scene with Clea is from another universe where Strange has gotten the third eye at some earlier point 😅
But yea, it doesn't really help the issue that we get no indication as to when and where that scene takes place
@@tuures.5167 Exactly.
Can we all appreciate how hard Benedict Wong carries this film
Elizabeth Olsen** but go off
I love this channel already.
Appreciate you being here 🙏
This is one movie I regret watching. It was so trash. But I was with the homies so that made it better.
Great video mate! Nice touches of humour too. Can't wait for the next video 🎉
Thanks for watching. Got more on the way.
That guy at the start is clearly there to remind us that there were indeed consequences to the snap, but those consequences will never be shown just memtioned
Please do a review on Matt Reeves' The Batman. ❤️
Finally got around to seeing it a few weeks ago. I'll have to see if it fits in the schedule. 👍
another top video 10/10!
🙏🙏
I am laughing so hard to the fact that you called the other doctor a random guy who was from the first movie
Yeah that's a big oof from me.
Yo, love your videos my dude
Found your channel recently and I admire your outstanding growth
I saw this video and clicked cause it's you but I really didn't want to watch it cause Multiverse of madness is very much old news so I didn't finish it, I'll probably revisit this video later
But I think that's why it's not getting any views right now compared to your first two videos. Maybe make a video about Shazam or John wick next, nobody that doesn't know you really wants to hear you talk about old news. But yh, hope your next video is a banger
Ha I'm grateful even one person is watching. And funny you mention that because Shazam was an idea I had floating around.
after watching what if and so many other movies i keep forgetting christine is still alive
The way they have shown different universes in across the Spiderverse was a lot more creative, but it is understandable that its much more difficult to do that in live action
“Some random nobody” if you payed attention to the movies you would know and understand why this interaction is actually really good
That nobody was the doctor who Stephen worked with at the hospital.
Dont worry guys, wong is just being wong, totally not weird
That random guy is Dr. West from the first movie
i think everybody needs to go as hard as wong
Hard as Wong. Coming 2025.
Watching this after Everything Everywhere All At Once was a total bummer. Just as you said it: with an infinite amount of possibilities, Marvel really stuck with going to ONE universe.
Yeah when they just landed in a... cleaner New York... I was like aw man.
I also just realized that the "random doctor" is Timothee Chalamet's dad in Call Me By Your Name.
The “nobody” that sat next to strange at Christine’s wedding was the cocky surgeon he outwitted in the first movie before his car crash accident.
The first reveal of his eye was cool, weird. The one in the Clea scene is the one that looks like its just photoshoped in unfortunately. It looks flat. All the other stuff in the movie I loved. Zombie Strange using Souls of the Damned to fight Scarlet Witch was great reveal after great reveal. I feel like people complain only because we didnt get even more cameos. Im soooo glad we got full team of superheroes literally obliterated on the screen with a lot of gore at the top of that. We never got that in the mcu before, but we got a lot of promises of it happening, like with Tony's nightmare in AoU, or deleted scene of Thanos coming in with Captain Americas head on his sword. We got teased for years and we finally got Scarlet Witch to show to us how overpowered being can easily kill full team of very powerful supes, when they have no plot armor protecting them.
I like the video nice😊
Multiverse of Madness is my favorite Marvel movie so far, with Wandavision being my favorite series. This movie just felt like it had something that the others didnt. And i honestly thought EO did an amazing job
EO always kills it.
interesting! Honestly I though MoM was extremely lackluster and disappointing but we all have different tastes anyways I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@whiteasian4990your name explains it all.
The dinasour one may have been referencing magneto cuz it's where he was born
Wong was so funny and stole every single damn scene he was in.
Humans have two simmetrical eyes, which makes it hard to imagine and make third eye. Personally, i couldn't imagine how it would look like.
I don't really get the ding at Wanda's alternate universe kids being annoying. They were excited about something and seeing that was what she was missing in her universe.
I'm just playin' they're alright.
Y’all ever notice that Wong grew his hair out
(5:34) Yes! Yes we do....I do!
I underestimated how many people liked the dinosaur universe. My mistake.
@@y.reviews no worries! I thought it was funny 😁
@@mariababer7950 you're gonna love Jurassic Park 😄
And I'll hear your reasonable voice in the next video!

DON'T QUESTION HIM!!
pre production gannnng
I thought the CGI and visual effects in this movie were awesome. It definitely had flaws in some of the rest of the movie but the cgi was amazing.
I know the third eye was a weak point, but when people act like it ruins the rest of the movies cgi it sucks. It was only in the movie for like 20 seconds total, and it wasn’t THAT bad, just not really good. I also think part of the reason it looks bad is because of how unnatural a third eye looks to us. I mean even the comics drawings it looks goofy. Look at someone’s face and then imagine them with a third eye. It looks weird doesn’t it? So yes the third eye could’ve been a little better but it definitely does not deserve the hate and it does not deserve to smear the rest of the beautiful movie.
Ooh unli budget from a big production movie and end up with a bad looking cgi is tight!
Pitch meeting reference
2:08 he’s a doctor from the 1st movie
What's the difference between sense and feel?
Nothing really. I'm just pulling words out of my ass when I write these videos.
@@y.reviews Your honesty is refreshing, subscribed
I had such high expectations for Sam Raimi and I’m not entirely sure why considering his hits with Spider-Man peaked in 2002
Try making a movie during COVID
I was with you right up to the last minute of the video. I can't possibly agree with the statement that bad acting can be made up for by effects. Acting is arguably more important even than the writing in film -- a gloriously hammy delivery can redeem a bad script, but bad delivery (unless you're tommy wiseau) isn't something a solid script can save.
Acting is paramount, and even the implication that poor acting can be mitigated with effects doesn't sit right with me. I fully concede their importance, but without the humanity to give it life, it's falls flat.
I'm most surprised that there was any preproduction since, famously, the script wasn't done when they started filming.
Maybe I should've phrased it differently. I don't actually believe effects can cover up bad acting. In the end, the actors still need to be believable and sell you on the story first.
I can totally believe pre production was going on as the script was still being written though. The two departments can work simultaneously, of course, it's not the best way. There's eventually gonna be rewrites and a waste of manpower as certain things get cut. Preproduction stuff as well as post- like entire vfx sequences. But with a big Hollywood budget, I think Marvel just takes the losses in those areas in hopes the movie can still pull an overall profit.
@@y.reviews Hmm, I see your point.
And thinking about it more, something like an animated film or even a pure-cg moment can have no actual voice work in a scene and still be incredible.
I love how bizarre and messy this movie was it gave it that spider man 3 charm yk
For the first scene, we don't actually know how much time has passed and presumably DC took control of the cleanup
For the second, the world of 838 is incredibly conformative so I wouldn't be surprised if there are specific "One way" streets. Since DS and AC don't know this, they stand out.
This movie is like a fight between raimi and Disney. It's sad because you can see the glimmers of a great movie there
Sounds like a personal problem lmao
1:50 🤣🤣🤣
so in conclusion. This was the only competent movie after endgame
Dr Strange on the comic does have a third eye
Poopman and the multiflush of madness
nobody gives a shit. at all
8:04 lmaooo
literally the humor of a 5 year old 🤦🏽♂️
The cgi in this movie was top tier I just wish the script was more cohesive. It was a clusterfuck and just so many things are happening all at once. Plus I can totally believe wanda being a villain but not straight after wandavision
Wong is ALWAYS the GOAT
"With an infinite number of universes, do we really care about one with dinosaurs?"
No, and no one does. Those worlds they pass through aren't important set pieces with lots of detail and as such just need to not look like Earth. They don't need to be extraordinary, just other than ordinary.
This movie summarizes my anger with Marvel in spoil great ideas and give average to bad films.
🤣 amazing
nicley spoken
7:04 it works because the suit is CGI
I was expecting a go at the fact that during the fight with the retarded Avengers in 838, Wanda’s toes disappear and she just has feet shaped triangles or the fact that a lot of the characters just look like cutouts in front of a desktop wallpaper since none of the Illuminati members filmed their scenes together. Hell, Anson Mount didn’t even wear the costume, it was added on top of him.
for a non vfx artist you spend too much time analyzing useless shit.
Isn't it kind of depressing to know that all this effort put in the visuals is completely wasted by just a bad script?
Looks like this is your first Marvel movie 🤣
Yup, money has made Marvel lax.
God bless.
The problem with this movie was never the CGI. The story, pacing, and the way of telling that story is what went wrong and ruined a movie with great potential
the pacing was actually perfect but continue to speak total stupidity.
Give me money😏
I've already forgotten everything of this "movie" marvel is full autopilot by now..
Well that just says you have shit memory lmao
Wanda's kids seemed slightly mature in WandaVision, in MOM, they become annoying kids somehow. 😂
cause you’re forgetting that they’re 10 year olds & not 26 year old superheroes 💀..
@@UltraJBB so they were 26 year old superheroes in WandaVision?
I live this movie alot tbh. Yeah the cgi is bad, but I like the feeling the movie gives, a feelings of carelessness and wackiness, mystery and goofiness. Honestly it let's the bad cgi for me personally just add to the wack part of it
what are you on?? The CGI is amazing ?? 😭
Good CGI does not make up for poor writing and an even poorer choice of an alternate universe in the MULTIVERSE OF INFINITELY better and more interesting choices.
Yeah could've worded that differently.
This movie had Raimis stink all over it.. was very sad that he did it 😔.
Just goes to show that you shouldn’t let a horror director conduct the filmmaking of a superhero film.
@@destructorque every superhero film shouldn’t be heart warming & cheery. Raimi gave the film a tone & feeling. You were actually terrified of the main threat & constantly on guard for what happens next. He did amazing hater
Good video and everything, but Poop Man is actually a really cool character. You clearly haven't read the comics if you don't understand that.
I admit I'm not too well versed in the Poopiverse.
In terms of the writing, plot, characters, etc, this is the worst superhero film I’ve EVER seen. And I’ve seen Superman IV, Batman & Robin, Fant4stic, Man Of Steel, Batman V Superman, Justice League 2017, Wonder Woman 1984, and Suicide Squad 2016.
Notice how you’re a DC fan who caters toward DC writing & CGI? HA you’re a joke just like those low revenue films 😅
Disney needs to touch grass
I don't like the criticism of "show us new exciting things, places, and such". Mostly because it becomes intangible too easily. Where the effects would really become the stars besides the story. A rollercoaster that is just loops isn't fun for anyone, but the dumb who are easily satisfied.
The drama, threats, and story were made very tangible by sending Strange to a universe not too different from our own. Strange's story bounces away from Wanda's and in the universes where he was like her, he was unmade or unmade things entirely.
"I'll send you to a world where you can be with Christine."
Strange offensively recoils, "The FULL might of Kamur Taj stands against you."
Wanda dream walks and sees her children, coming to a complete stop in her plan just to gaze at them. 838 Strange dreamwalked and almost assuredly found Christine only to keep going until destroying that universe and nearly his own.
"I am happy."
Strange isn't over Christine, "I love you in every universe."
Yet, he attended Christine's wedding to another man. We have the most developed Strange in our universe and through the multiverse discoverd what madness will bring about. Love has the power to shatter your mind.
I feel like this movie is only clowned for what it wasn't, not what is was. No alternate Iron Man, no other X-men, no Deadpool, and all that other stuff. People complained about The Illuminati, how would more cameos made it any better? At least we got an ensemble of characters who showcased their arrogance "we can handle your little witch"-"smartest man alive"-"chose to go it alone"-"oh, i can do this all day", introduce the horrors of universes colliding which will come into play in the new multiversial saga, make a promise of change to come with Reed Richards and Charles Xavier, and also be meat for the grinder to show just how powerful Wanda is.
I see the small problems, but not these other superficial ones people focus on.
1:25 💀💀💀
And then they made She Hulk and fucked Wong up for everybody.
she hulk wasn’t the next avengers film like it is a separate Disney project. Y’all are so hurt it’s funny 😂
@@UltraJBB It's in the MCU.
@@ayby17 ITS A SEPARATE FILM. it has no importance to the current mcu plot which you obviously can’t catch 🙄
@@UltraJBB Could you elaborate please? Never heard or read that She Hulk is non canon, if that's what you're saying.
@@ayby17 just like most of disneyplus released series shehulk has no importance to the MAIN plot of the MCU. These shows are to get us caught up on origins & to introduce new characters to the MCU. She-hulk twerking isn’t going to change the plot, these are occurrences that exist solely for the show’s purpose. There are a select few that transfer to the big screen like wandavision & Loki but these are series explaining important ideas like multiverses or incursions & with the next hulk movie being years from now none of these things will effect the plot. that Hawkeye series? didn’t effect a thing
Don't agree on the acting jabs. These actors knew how campy it was gonna be with Sam at the helm.
