I know I've said this before, but your efforts are huge and we really appreciate them. I'm a logistics guy...it's what I do for a living. So, when I see something like this it just blows me away at how hard it is to pull something like this off. And when all the footage is shot from multiple cameras at various angles, including drone shots, you still have to sit in front of a computer and create your story in the form of a massive edit! And create you do, and you do it SO well.... Thanks Matt for everything you do!
Thanks Norm! It's a tremendous amount of work and some all-nighters to get these out somewhat "on time," but worth every bit. I couldn't do it without supporters like you though.
He flies the drone from the plane........Just kidding. I agree with Norm, these videos are impressive. But his skill with the Bonanza and all weather flying is even more impressive.
Matt you guys killed it on this video. Great shots, awesome content and genius editing. Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into these for us to enjoy! Keep sharing! I watched it twice :-)
The high wing of the Cessna let’s you get out of the sun & rain. Better for sightseeing. With the IO 550 it’s a great performer & load carrying machine. The Bonanza is great as well. Much better handling. Many Beech Bonanzas used Magnesium flight controls (except rudder on straight tails …maybe). Problematic with Aluminum rivets. Reskinning is possible but very expensive. Great videos!
Matt, you really add another dimension to your videos by using the Drone shots. That must take a lot of extra takeoffs and landings! But the result is so worth it.
An absolutely phenomenal video Matt! I have never experienced anything like this in my entire life. The Bonanza is such a versatile aircraft that can land at small airports where larger planes would have difficulty. Your flying skills are right up there with the best! You have total command of the Bonanza. This was the most spectacular video I have ever watched. Thanks for making it for all your viewers! You earned my subscription!
@@crazypeoplearoundtheworld304 I mean shit, even if it is "daddy's money", I'd sure as shit be happy if my dad helped me buy a plane so I could engage in such a cool and constructive activity. You's a haaaaater boiiiiii.
Echoing awesome! Just glad you have a “comfortable Bonanza” to fly us through so many amazing places. Always a treat to come along. Cheers🍻 ...and the heads up flying is pretty good too!
I hate heights and flying but you have given me a strange love for it. you truly live the coolest life. your a very brave guy. I seriously had panic attack on the video you made where all your control panel went dead mid flight! watching your vids made me feel like i could try this to get over my fears and immediately realized I cant when I can't even handle a weird malfunction on a plane in a video! Thanks for taking the time to show me a very amazing aspect of life that sadly I wont ever be able to enjoy aside from your amazing videos. you allow us all to fly a little.
Your videos are awesome Matt.. And the adventures are amazing.. Thank you guys for sharing most of your aviation experiences with all of us. Keep up the good work.
Love your videos! It’s fun to see how different creators present their take on aviation. I’m doing the STOL demo at Oshkosh (2018) during the Twilight show. Hope to bump into you guys!
EPIC flight, Gorgeous scenery, Great friends, A36 Bonanza, and going to the bathroom in mid-flight. Life doesn't get much better. Excellent video.......
I flew out of Telluride November 1987 on Frontier Airlines. There were snow flurries that afternoon my guess it was MVFR. It was a small dual turboprop (about 10 passenger) and I remember the first thing we did was climb to 18,000.
Man love your videos, always watching and sharing on my social media your videos. I can't wait for all of this stuff to be over so we get more videos from you.
I live in Arizona and so many people across the U.S don't really understand how beautiful our State is. It is extremely diverse here and there is so much to see.
I was blown away on a recent visit in May. 102 in Tucson and drove up to Flagstaff. Next morning 30 degrees with sleet, snow and fog. 1st day at the Grand Canyon, couldn't see a thing
Love the vid guys and great drone shots at the canyon airport. I do a lot of drone work and I haven't seen drone shots at a airport like that before. Tricky but good job.
Wow - the scenery is absolutely mindboggling!! Never gets those views in a commercial jet! Getting all of those camera angles must be a logistical nightmare - but it all pays off with the final production!
Matt that is probably one of the best Videos I have seen from you or JP. I almost didn't mind the constant 210 bashing. But I will tell you in a Cessna you can slide one seat forward the other back to access the restroom in the back seat. Im shy as well! lol
My new "go to" place. Glad someone has the dough to do this sort of thing and is willing to share their experience. If I ever win a lottery ... I'll do it too, but I just can't seem to figure out an easy task like picking out the right six numbers lol. Seriously, I really do enjoy this ....
Love the channel! Would have been awesome had Beech introduced a pressurized option for the Bonanza line-up to compete with the Cessna P210, imho. Happy/Safe Flying! 🙏🇺🇲💪
Incredible video! Loved the drone shots....huge work! I always enjoy your video and insights into your trips. From a fellow Dakotan (SE N. Dakota...Lidgerwood), you are a huge success, and hope to see you in Oshkosh!
Just subscribed, I am glad to see your videos, I am 34, aviation machinist mate in the Navy, worked on F14's and F18's, I have always loved aviation as a whole, not just military, you are awesome for these videos. I wish I could fly, I have worked on them for years, just never flown, I am thinking about going for my license. Also since I don't own a plane, I can't wait for the new flight simulator from microsoft 2020
Great video thanks! Just one minor comment, most people would take the title to mean you landed in the Grand Canyon that we all know from visits and pictures, technically you were only about 2 thirds of the way between Vegas and that well known part of the canyon, and about 2000 feet higher than that part of the canyon. About 80 miles away I think is Bar10 from the big canyon parts.
great use of external cameras and drones: so, you mentioned that your shirt and pants were quite comfortable over a range of temperatures. what is the brand name?
Greetings from London, I am not a pilot, ( not clever enough) but l love your videos, l felt like l was there with you over the canyon. Keep up the good work, stay safe.
Oh Matt this is got to be one of the funniest ones I’ve seen. And kudos to flying a helicopter which I didn’t realize you knew how to do. Safe flying my friend.
By far your best video in my opinion. Awesome camera work man. I just toured the Hoover Dam yesterday. Fun fact: Lake Meade is the largest man made reservoir in the U.S 👍
Great film guys! It's such an amazing area to fly. I grew up in southern utah and northern arizona. Since you emphasized *IN* the Grand Canyon, I've got to call you on it. The Bar Ten is not IN the Grand Canyon. It is close and it's a lot of fun to land there. Next time you're in Boulder take a heli tour with Papillion or Maverick and they will land you in the Grand Canyon.
As a former owner of a T-210N and right seat of Beach Bonanza with flop control, Duchess and King Airs, the Cessna has more shoulder to shoulder room. The Bonanza is 3 - 5 knots faster. Nonetheless, private aviation is fun way to go slowly. Enjoyed your clip.
I'm reasonably sure you won't read this, but I'll give my two cents anyway. Terrain is far more of a consideration than wind in many cases, especially at higher elevations where climb performance is poor. In my opinion, your choice of runway for leaving Bar 10 wasn't the best - you definitely weren't climbing very well. At least going the other way (staying to the right) the terrain is descending, and you can go up to 3 nm that way as well, more if you can claim safety as your reason for doing it. It's also a really good idea to do a practice approach, in the same area if that is possible when doing mountain flying (which Bar 10 operations are). If doing one in the same area isn't possible, flying through the area and gauging climb capability under conditions similar to takeoff is a good idea. If you have trouble meeting or exceeding the rise rate of the terrain leaving your intended departure runway, you should consider either going the other way or not landing at all. Obviously you were fine, and obviously you have a ton of experience, but I can't help notice that most of it seems to be in planes that have an autopilot and glass.
I know I've said this before, but your efforts are huge and we really appreciate them. I'm a logistics guy...it's what I do for a living. Thanks Norm! It's a tremendous amount of work and some all-nighters to get these out somewhat "on time," but worth every bit. I couldn't do it without supporters like you though.
How did you do the drone part? After getting the shots of you taking off did you have to land again and pick up the drone from the guy there?
he prob came back around and landed again
He flies the drone from the plane........Just kidding. I agree with Norm, these videos are impressive. But his skill with the Bonanza and all weather flying is even more impressive.
the continuation of the 210 VS Bonanza! I love it, can't wait for more rivalry!

The ranger's name was John Rifey. I believe he flew a Piper Cub, at least in the early 70's.

Thanks Matt. Terrific views, great editing. Love listening to you guys discuss the airplane to weather, very educational.
Matt , you and Owen looks like you having a good time and a laugh there and still being in control of the plane, very cool.

Great flight and a super video. Thank you for sharing.
