If someone has to ask what the point is, I don't think they get the point :) I have a little model sterling engine which didn't even require construction, turns a little motor to generate enough to run an LED bulb. It's just satisfying to watch it run, and of course educational to those who don't know how they work. Encouraging innovation and thinking of various ways to problem solve etc.
Alcohol is the fuel to use for that because it leaves no soot. Around here there's a product called "gas line antifreeze" which is a blend of ethanol and isopropanol, and it makes for good alcohol fuel, it's cheap too.
I have just had mine delivered, does anyone know how to tell when the water level is to low as there is no sighting window? I don't want to cause an accident
Hi. There is no window. Has a blow safety valve to let put excess steam. You can see the steam coming out the sides. It will stop when the water has been used up and slow down. I doubt the burner has enough heat to do any damage if dry.
Simple but effective Fred , cheers Shane
Hi Shane. Dont forget the CB net later on. Been going on all afternoon here.
Just love this stuff, fascinates me, all day I could watch this just spinning away. Cheers FRED. Alan 💯👍
Glad you enjoyed it
