Great job Scotty! As always your the man.
More harmonica!
I like what you did to that door with those foam panels. That was neat.
Great job, Scotty! True, I am not into CNN-style echo chambers.
Scotty you are amazing .....Shoe🇺🇸
7:23 You rock that blues harmonica. 😁
Way to go Scotty 👍
fav part of the vid
I wish he would have played a whole song! It was awesome
This is why I love Scotty. He has the money to pay a professional crew to place those panels in his garage but he wants to save his money. Good job Scotty.
That and he knows he'll do a better quality job, taking the time to do it right. If he pays some professional crew, they'll just do it as fast as possible and might take some shortcuts.
Don't forget that he makes money from these videos
@@arturotorres6437 This was a functional job, esthetics, not lining the tiles up looks really horrible. But the result, it works.
Yep, can’t have money circulating in the economy or putting food on someone else’s table.. multi millionaires need more houses they don’t live in most of the year
@@uasparts he did support the economy...he bought the panels, and the drywall screws
Scotty, a man of endless talents.
You should play us a tune while doing a tune up! 👍😁
Scotty is truly incredible! It would've taken me a day or more to do that garage and Scotty did it in less than 9 minutes....... and filmed it at the same time!
Basset ball Jones... Smoke a Doobie for me!!😁
R u trying to be funny here? I'm sure it took him a lot longer than 9minutes...
Scotty you are a National treasure! All the best for you, always!
And he plays the Harmonica! 😍
There is a thing called laminating drywall screws. They are for screwing drywall to drywall. In places were you do not have studs. We use them when we do sound proofing or fire proofing from time to time. The screws have a slightly fatter shaft for a friction fit. They may have worked better, far better grip on the ceiling tiles. When they start falling replace the screw with a laminating screw. They will stay up then. If they do happen to fall in time.
They won't ever fall unless there is a problem like a leak or someone prying on them. Those things look very light.
@@natevanlandingham1945 I did not watch much of the installation.
The only problems that could happen is if the screws got over turned and turned the drywall with in the hole to powder.
@@theacmemovement9677 yea that correct and with that powerfully corded drill and hearing the stripping noise as he tightened each one at the end it's possible that quite a few had this done.
@@theacmemovement9677 I watched this, I think he pretty much rounded out every screw - went to finger tight, then too far. I'm quite sure he's done that with every tile. Might need those other screws in time.
@@jahnperez5060 yes I'm right and Scotty will probably live long enough to see them loosen up. The "fat shafts" as we called them may still work in the same hole if he needs to switch them.
I'm right about the only way we the American people can get our voices back also.
My movements objectives are for the time being at Facebook.
If you read this Scotty check it out...
Hey Scotty - look into 3/4" thick rubber Stall Mats from Tractor Supply - cover the whole floor with them. They are normally used for horse barns so they can handle the weight of cars, you can still roll toolboxes around on them and they will sound deaden the floors and will be nicer to walk around on than the cold, hard concrete. They are heavy enough that you won't need any glue or fasteners to keep them down and if you damage one, you can pull it up and swap a new one in place. They are almost 100 lbs each (4' x 6') so you'll want a buddy to help lay them out.
Yep, was a big stack of them at my local TS.
And they are slip proof
Mechanics have cement floors, oil and rubber don't mix
I don't understand how a barn's floor can't handle the weight of a car. Looked up the 3/4" thichkruber stall mats from TS and although they seem like a good product, just not finding the right purpose for them.
@@arturotorres6437 cause rubber soaks up oil is his point. When it soaks it up some rubbers soften and turn mushy, once that happens you can't roll things on them.
Those are great. I have them in my weight room
Amazing..Scotty installed all of these tiles in 9 minutes
I would have used a couple of thin beads or silicone or wall batten adhesive. Both are flexible, but would never let go. Coloured epoxy for the floor professionally laid. It certainly improved the sound quality and the harmonica was great.
I have a premium vinyl floor against my basement concrete floor. It has real wood grain texture lines, so it doesn’t look like linoleum.
I got it from Home Depot or Lowes on the big rolls with their carpet. It’s less than $1/sq ft. 15 years in, still looks like brand new. It’s been abused by water, cat litter, and everything else like mold.
It’s eternally flawless if you don’t slice it. It’s warm, silent, and softer compared to bare concrete.
Scotty playing the Harmonica... Blown away
The foam alignment is killing me Scotty but hey it works! 😁
Scott love your show keep us going love and prayers for you and your family
This made my day.. keep it up Scotty.. nice Harmonica skills..
Hey Scotty good luck with the new venue- I liked the old place in Texas with the big fan, but one has to move on. Thank you for all of your videos.Keep making them.
Lord protect this man. He is a real American treasure!
He's probably good because I don't think he was dumb enough to get the jabs.
I hope the best in your new home and thank you for thinking of us! We are going to hear you much better with those tiles' sound absorber, eliminating the echo.
When I was getting into radio in the 1970's, most announcing booths had carpet stapled to the wall. Since it was the 70's, often they used either gold or green shag carpeting. If looks are important, I'd use acoustic tile adhesive or construction adhesive. Just put a blob in each corner of the tile and press it in place. If anyone is making a sound studio, don't cover everything with acoustic material. The wall that the announcer faces should be a hard surface to give a little reverb, which is a richer sound. If there is no reverb, the audio has a very "dead" quality. You can change the amount of reverb in a room by hang a heavy cloth curtain behind the announcer on a hard surface wall. As you open and close the curtain, the amount of reverb changes.
My Mother-Out-law put linoleum on her garage floor. I thought it was a stupid idea, but it turned out to be great! Easy to clean, easy to mop up oil drips and would probably offer some sound proofing effect too!
Sounds great Scotty, it was interesting to hear the difference after you installed the acoustic tiles👍🙂
Whoa, that actually worked a lot better than I thought it would for your sound deadening. You're also spot on about the importance of audio quality. Super entertaining video!
I agree with rechargeable drills. I hired a professional company to do some repair work and their drills became dead. I loaned them my old school corded drill so they could finish the job.
I'm glad you are having fun in your new home Scotty! 😁👍
This was a great video! You could really hear the difference as you progressed through the project! Congrats on the new place Scotty! Keep on keep'n on!
A friend of mine who is a musician got into making his own panels to dampen sound and it's wild how well they work. You can actually hear the change when you enter the room.
hang fireproof cloth baffles from the ceiling...it aides in what we call...quick sound. decay....
@@davewallace8219 he did! It's really wild how well they all work.
Scotty, I've installed many acoustic panels and they work very well at containing echoes. You made a good choice
Wow, that sounded great, your a man of many talents! Harmonica, player! Cool. I like those tiles you put in garage, it sounds less noisy. Very good!
I ever knew Scotty played the harmonica.
Scotty the tile man. Sounds good, you got rid of the echo for sure. ***For the floor, it would look great doing an epoxy coating with the speckles***
To my ears anyway, you have absolutely accomplished your purpose: it is far easier to understand what you are saying after the tile application; a lot less of that foggy reverberation. Of course, you will, now be missing out on the acoustic paradise that can be a garage. I just converted my own garage (all concrete walls and floor) into a new "Performing Arts Center" with adjustable multiple tweeters reflecting off different locations and surfaces in order to capture those millisecond delays that can create a magnificently broad soundstage and an almost creepy-sounding live audio experience. Different needs for different purposes: You created a sound space in order to inform people; I created Carnegie Hall in a New Jersey garage. LOL
Congratulations on ur New House God Bless 🙏🏻🙏🏻 too You, You’re Family And Friends Stay Safe Stay Strong 💪🏻
I personally think you should do a video of your typical video production! From raw shooting, to your editing process, and your final product.
You could have an accompanied background track of your harmonica skills.. LMAO!
Seriously you do a lot of tight edits. We would love to see your creative process. Because you damn sure rock them Scotty!
Scotty keep up the great work
Great job. Nice garage, too. All the best to you.
I agree! When I’m working in the garage I just use a 120 volt drill. lately however I’ve been using more pneumatic tools as I just installed a garage compressed air system!
huge difference in the beginning and sound and the end. well done
You can still paint the floor, just have to cover it with an oil resistant wax. Makes clean ups allot easier & you can paint a nice design that will be protected for years to come.
Amazing the difference those panels make. Sound is Great Scotty 👍
Scotty is surprisingly good at playing the harmonica
I totally agree Scotty! I don't understand why people buy cordless tools who never use them outside of a a shop where you can easily plug them in. Id never have the battery tools charged up when I need it or the battery will go bad and then you might as well toss the entire thing away because the new tool has a different battery bracket!!!
Hay Scotty, looks good what do your cats say about the move. And ya" your project is great scotty. Good luck, and want to see your next generation video's..nice.
Yes, where are the kitties?
You could paint the floor with “FlexSeal”. That stuff is sound deadening and durable. I did my shop floor with it and it works great. It was cheaper than the rubber mats !
Wow sounds so good now Scotty! I don't even think you need to worry about the flooring 💕👍
Nice Home Scotty!! So Happy for You and the Mrs. Awesome. Keep having fun. You look so Happy. 😁✌️
My wife and I love listening to you . Just good old common sense and years of experience we need more people like you . I started listening to you when you were moving from Houston. God Bless you and keep up the good work .
Scotty , You sound Great now ..... echo is gone ..... Bravo !!
Good job Scotty..I can hear the difference already..and scotty can play the harmonica good..
This was a fun video! Different from your normal ones but Im here for it!
sir! scotty is a genius when it comes to cars, nobody else can top his knowledge. now, he fixed that horrible echo in his garage!
Scotty.. you have one of the best intros to your channel.. but adding your harmonica to an intro would be even better
Scotty, I guess I missed your announcement - you are back in Texas. Congratulations.
Your quite a Gem 💎 Sir Scottieeeeeee 🤜🤛. I’m sure many feel the same .
Made a huge difference! Looks good too!
Ready for you to tackle the floor👍
This is great! Congrats on the new house.
Good luck Scotty ... you rock, all the best 😷🌷
great work, they look great imo!
Luv your ideas!!! Thx for sharing. 😎
Bless you Scotty - Great to see old school since of humor!
Getting very close to 5 million subs! Fabulous
@7:27 Scotty sings us his new tune called "I Got The Fixing BMW Plastic Crap Blues".
Good job Scotty ,you sure seem to be moving a lot lately.
He made a fortune on his old house. He has two houses now, each near to each of the sons.
Fans keep finding him.
Hell, I'd be in his garage every day.
I don't think it's hard to find him. lol
Where did he move to now?
@@InCaveEntertainment He moves between his home in Tennessee and Rhode Island every few months
Wow, muy bueno, congrac on your new house. God bless America
Great job. Those tiles make a big difference. Someone who didn't know wouldn't know they were there.
You can tell the improvement right away. Nice 👌
Home projects too 👍 Nice one Scotty 👏
Nice harmonica skills Scotty!
Great video Scotty!
good job! gives me an idea for a project I have!
Scotty can do anything! Hey Scotty, get some flat white paint and dab the screw heads with it, you won't see them & your project will look all that more professional. We know you like the "clean finish" look in what ever you do. 😲😲😲
It's quite effective. Good job!
Best vid ever! "Scott's home improvement show!"
Looks great and effective!
Oh dear I’m a retired builder and because I was a perfectionist I’d have had to put those on like tiles measured it out and made them all line up, towards the end of my career I specialised in glass brick and boy they had to be straight and level but as you say scotty it’s a working garage not a show home garage so great job scotty nice to see men over a certain age not afraid to pick up the tools and get stuck in , great post as usual,
scotty is a skilled harmonica player
Congrats Scotty!
Great job!
Scotty congrats buddy 👍 love the videos
Construction adhesive would be nearly as quick and a great deal stronger. I like the PL line in the caulk tubes, but any good one will be stronger than the walls you're attaching to. Also, you knocked the double-sided tapes, but the exterior grade ones hold up just fine outdoors (on clean surfaces), so they'd obviously work in a garage as well.
Yes he may regret a screw in the center on the ceiling panels once the corners begin to sag.
Keep up the good work Scotty love from Cuba
Congratulations on the new house, Scotty!
Sounds great Scotty!!!
Thank you for the video
Scotty!!! Use Astroturf on the floor. You can wash it with a hose, won't stain, you can drive over it, and it's almost indestructible. Should give a soft surface for killing echos.
great job scotty. they even look cool!!!!!
Actually i love the sound of rain in the background of videos
Good job!
Common, Scotty... a modern electric impact driver with a 5 AH battery or two would finish that job no problem, and you won't have to drag a cord around. A decent impact driver is also more balanced and easier to move around! ;)
😎👍 Sweet garage Scotty and nice job! 👌
Scotty, they threw away the mould when they made you! I enjoy every one of your videos! Like you, they're unique, entertaining and above all....honest!
I love these types of episodes.
I might have used a few tubes of silicone adhesive, but Scotty's right again! Save some $!
Haaaaaaa Scotty plays the harmonica too... that's awesome, sounded good !! We need at least one video of nothing but harmonica playing !!!
Scotty, you are awesome!
Wonder what Mrs Kilmer thinks? Bet she wants Scotty to tile the whole house with those things to absorb Scotty's dulcid tones :) Great video as ever. Never a day goes by when I don't watch a Scotty video!
Scotty put up the same stuff in my garage. I box So it’s quite loud using the heavy bag speed bag etc.. and stuff works like a charm for sounding stall
I agree! Sound quality is very important! I've ranted in the comments of a major boat retailer/distributor for having annoying wind noise in their outdoor walk-through videos... but they still haven't purchased the $20 wind screens to cover their microphone. I've given up on them and stop watching when I start hearing wind noise. I don't believe I've ever heard wind noise on your videos. :-)
CONGRATS SCOTTY!!!!
