  • @PSKResearch
    @PSKResearch 2 роки тому

    Bluetti makes smaller, lighter, cheaper power stations too. I just got a 700w/h one. It has an 800 watt inverter that will take up to 1400 watt surges. Runs my full size oxygen concentrator for a couple hours, or my small one for almost 7 hours during a power failure. Uses LiFePO4 lithium rather than regular lithium-ion. They're safer, & last longer (2500 charge cycles instead of 300-400). It only weighs 20 pounds. I have a couple older 222w/h lithium-ion ones too, they weigh only 5 pounds each.

    As for that battery pack, a standalone gasoline or Propane generator is a much better idea. Modern generators can switch between propane and gas and can run electronics with the use of a power conditioner

    • @PSKResearch
      @PSKResearch 2 роки тому

      If you live in an apartment, condo, don't have a yard or driveway, or generators are forbidden in your area, it's the only outage option. Who wants to hear someone's generator all day & in the middle of the night anyway? You can charge up the power station with a generator so you can shut down the generator for a while. Many camping areas don't allow generators except those built into RVs. He has a real heavy one. I have a 715 watt hour one that weighs only 20 pounds. I have 222 watt hour ones that weigh 5 pounds & are half the size of a shoe box. Sometimes that's all you need for hiking, camping, biking, or to get through a night. It can easily be carried in a backpack with lots of room to spare, with no noise or fumes. They can recharge from a vehicle or solar panels too.

    I think for most people, the biggest concern would be a fridge if the power went out, and maybe a few small lights (although battery powered LED lights, like the ones you can buy to put in closest) work fine. My power goes out here and there and for me, I just bought a small mini fridge that runs off one of those solar generators (I don't keep a ton of refrigerated food around anyway so I just bought a larger cooler with a 12V plug, and it works fine. I just move the food over if the power is going to be out for anymore than say 20-30 minutes. I also don't use a huge battery system like that (don't care about running tools if the power is out). So just get by with a 1500 watt unit which can actaully run my cooler for about 24 hours on low, as it too has its own battery built-in as well, plus the power unit i have can be run off solar while it's being used (or it can charge from solar while it's being used).

    • @toriless
      @toriless 2 роки тому

      I have some electronics that are of first concern since my freezers are set at -9F. I do have backup on my coolers since the only use 5 watts each. I have UPS in several room. I have NG for heat. Additionally I have LP powered generator as an option as well. I always have two filled containers the are for the BBQ. Just hook up the full one if needed. I have 8 power monitors I have placed throughout the house. The laptop uses 20 watts when running, the DVR and it HD uses 10, etc. Hook those up with a single 125 Ah and I can run all week. If I get a second one and charge if off the generator who knows how long. If I have to I can switch to gas ⛽️ but you have to empty that out or run it regularly unlike running on LP or NG.

    Nost cars if you hit something to a point where the trunk is crunched, it's not worth repairing and may not even be that safe to drive, as the structure is now compromised (they aren't like old cars that had full or partial frames that could be bend back into place). If you hit something considerable, the least you may get away with is a car that perhaps doesn't drive straight, but might still drive OK, but in some extreme cases, it may not be driveable or worth fixing. I've seen people hit poles so bad that you can't bend he front end back into place enough to fix the engine components that got damaged, same for the trunk. I've seen some extreme cases where the rear wheels were not quite aligned properly and so the car didn't exactly drive right (still OK to drive, but would need new tires often).

      Yep, once you get enough but I think it is mostly from decades as a mechanic. Life is a lot less expensive once the mortgage is gone.

    Scotty, when you review, especially when you recommend automotive products, it would be welcome information if you share where they are manufactured. You have right there in your hands, just let us know where they were made.

    Hey Scotty I got 2004 Chevy trailblazer. There's been a rumbling noise coming from the passenger side while driving. It's becomes more intense depending which direction turn. Do you have any idea what's going on?
