Sam sings so well and I love seeing her 15 year long service and good conduct medal attached to the Afghanistan and Diamond Jubilee medals. Looking forward to seeing so much more in these young ladies careers. Doing something I could never have done in my lifetime.
Every thing is good. I'm Australian, 50 years of age + . I support the Monarchy. Long reign King Charles III. Royal Marines band; great music. Holst and all the "traditional" music. Well; Jerusalem, Church of England Hymns. It all sounds good and soothing!
Was listening to this section AGAIN! And I don't know why it was so different this time, but when Gordon started playing his sax, it actually bought tears to my eyes... First time in my life I've experienced that 🥲
@geoffreymartin2764 In fact, they are Royal Marines - not to be confused with plain Marines. The female Corporal is wearing an Operational Service Medal that shows she has been deployed on Operations - all RM Musicians have secondary Operational Roles as Medics, Drivers, Communications and other combat support roles; so they are exceptional people.🇬🇧
@@BrianGouldenI didn’t know that. The US Marine Band a/k/a The President’s Own are essentially professional musicians who audition and are enlisted directly into the band, usually as an E4 initially. Their service contract states that they will only be stationed at the Marine Barracks in Washington DC.
The man playing the saxophone is truly incredible! Huge respect to him. What a talented man! Very jealous. Regards, a grade 1 tenor saxaphone player! :)
I have said it before and I will keep saying it, simply the best Military Band in the world, it was always a pleasure and privilege to listen to them when serving in the RN, simply superb musicians and now vocalists (didn’t have many of them in my service days). BZ “Royals”. P.S., yes, the Sax was special as was the Rocketman vocalist.
Told somebody how I've played sax for 20 years now and they asked me who my favourite sax player was... I said they won't know them, but Gordon Carter who plays in the Royal Marines Band Service! Love all his performances from previous years and this was the first time I've attended live... So emotive, absolutely love it!
I went to MFM 2022 at the albert hall and it gave me chills and somehow after listening to it over 20 times I STILL GET CHILLS. Hands down the best sax solo I've heard!
Fantastic! Very well performed as always bringing enjoyment to all the music lovers viewing thanks to The Bands of HM Royal Marines and UA-cam who makes this all possible.
Just saw this for the first time. I’ve been an Elton John fan since the beginning of the 70s. However, seeing the HMRM Orchestra perform his songs is truly a gift. Thank you from this “Madman Across the Water” Yank! Please don’t forget to give Bernie Taupin credit for his incredible lyrics.
Professional musicians of the highest quality making me proud of our military musical standards. I just wish the soloists would be named cause the same faces keep appearing - Another brilliant performance from our Marines - beautifully edited BTW- brilliant entertainment ❤️
Hi Ron, I think those who serve in the RM Band Service know just how good they are collectively and being a Military Service who are trained to undertake their other Operational roles, Medical Cas-Evac/ NBCD Contam-Unit Operators or as Military Aid to Civil Power, they probably don't welcome any "celebrity" status. Individual names do actually come up at times. Collectively, they probably judge each other on their Operational duties we don't see them perform.
In order of appearance. Band Colour Sergeant Gordon Carter (Royal Marines Band Service Production Team) Band Corporal Brian Lloyd (Band of HM Royal Marines Collingwood) Band Corporal Samantha McIndoe (Band of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth) Band Lance Corporal Kirsty Haines (Band of HM Royal Marines Commando Training Centre) Conductor is Captain Sam Hairsine (Director of Music - Band of HM Royal Marines Collingwood) The Massed Band this year is composed mainly of Bands of HM Royal Marines Plymouth, Scotland & Collingwood with some elements from Bands of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth, Commando Training Centre & Royal Marines School of Music too.
@@stuartmccall5474 Unity and team work I get but sometimes individual roles and talents need a mention in the same way as medals get awarded for exceptional aspects of duty and promotions from stripes and officer training.
Thanks so much, I love Sir. Elton John's music. He must have graduated from the very prestigious Oxford or Cambridge Univ. according to my memory. Anyhow, also he was always sending his heartfelt support to me, I know! Thank you very much, Sir, Elton John! Please say hello and my deep appreciation to him directly, UK Armed Forces. Always many thanks to you!
i love the work you all do not just the music. i have seen it live in the past. sniper 1 shot inAfghanistan i think. thak you all for the work and service. R.I.P. old friends.
Absolutely brilliant playing by the band and the singing and 4 horsemen of the apocalypse was so good. I've been with the Royal Marines band tube channel from the start and I'm so proud Of the band and being British. So glad you've so many followers now.
That is surreal playing I’m still standing with an Elton John lookalike vocalist, excellent though, respect for doing unconventional tracks, for an Orchestra!.
Brilliant arrangements, fabulously precise musicianship…and to think that these instruments get ditched when their players are supporting the Commandos in battle providing frontline medical support but then it is HM’s Royal Marines.
During the transit to The Falklands in 1982, between their combat training sessions, the embarked RM Band kept up the morale of the fighting troops with their music. I don't think the musicians would deploy without their instruments - they know the value of music as a morale booster. They are a damned fine group of men and women - always professional and brave when the occasion demands. Simply The Best 👌
Beautiful. Imagine the tingles of Sir John watching and hearing this. Tribute to the Marines. I think Elton could have supplied a better singing costume. Top voices and music.
This must surely be one of THÉ most accomplished Military Bands in the history of mankind EXTRAORDINARY TOP DRAW Simply MAGICAL performances on Elton John Applauded infinitely🥂 ✨💫 👊🔥 🪖
Sir Elton John must be proud of this. When even the marines are playing his songs. Super talented people
Sam sings so well and I love seeing her 15 year long service and good conduct medal attached to the Afghanistan and Diamond Jubilee medals. Looking forward to seeing so much more in these young ladies careers. Doing something I could never have done in my lifetime.
I wished one could win the wars in the world with music, this would be an elegant fight, and less famlies to suffer. Thank you Marines.❤
Sam The Rocket Woman...amazing
From the look of it, this is the best kind of music, the band, the soloists and the conductor are having as much, if not more, fun than the Audience.
Every thing is good. I'm Australian, 50 years of age + . I support the Monarchy. Long reign King Charles III. Royal Marines band; great music. Holst and all the "traditional" music. Well; Jerusalem, Church of England Hymns. It all sounds good and soothing!
Loved it. Saxophone sure did it justice. This HM Royal Marines band is a gift to the World. Thanks for posting.
Ok so you work hard , rehearsal more , more rehearsal, then you knock it out of the park , bloody brilliant, super, super sax well done sir !!!
Was listening to this section AGAIN! And I don't know why it was so different this time, but when Gordon started playing his sax, it actually bought tears to my eyes... First time in my life I've experienced that 🥲
All is good, but Rocket man... she is glorious! (I can't stop listening to her voice)
You are the best Gordon... Sure do miss you.. Happy Retirement..
This famale soldier is one of the best singers among you. So that she always appears and sings, I guesss. Thank you.
They are Marines , not soldiers.
