honestly, you can't knock Voge for the price. I've said it before the chinese bikes are developing into some right beasts! The Voge Rally really peaked my fancy before I bought the CRF and I only avoided it due to it not having the worldwide support Honda has. Awesome video Topboy Alan, you're the man!
Ive owned one for a month now and have covered 1100 miles. I had a Himalayan before and covered over 20000 miles in two years travelling all over Europe. I loved that bike, but I'm so excited looking forward to long distance travel abroad next year. I also considered the CF Moto 450 MT but this is the one to go for. Great review, thoroughly endorsed by me.
Very interested to hear you had the Himalayan & covered 20,000 miles travelling all over Europe. I've just bought an as new 10month old 411 in Granite Black & it's only covered 800miles by it's one owner. I've bought it as a go anywhere adventure bike capable of some off roads, loaded up travelling trips & everything inbetween. Staying away from motorways though. I'm wondering what you loved about yours so much, if you wouldn't mind sharing? Any tips for me to get the most out of it etc? I bought it as it was just in my £3500 budget & a few worthy extras already fitted... I feel a great buy & I'm hoping it to be the case....or should I have saved up more & bought the Voge 525 DSX? Any thoughts are appreciated !
@@keepitreal1547 I'd always had much bigger bikes before but after an accident and a shattered ankle, I found them to difficult to move around. Enter the Himalayan. If you, like me are not interested in tear arsing down motorways, it is just perfect. It's light, really manoeuverable and can carry a hell of a lot. I put a larger front drive sprocket on (1 tooth) and it transformed the cruising - happy at 65 all day and not about to blow up at 75! I found the seat really comfortable and could ride all day. It averaged 87 mpg on the last trip round Spain and Portugal. In the two years I had it, it had new headstock and swinging arm bearings replaced under warranty. Those were the only issues. My mate who bought his Himmy the same time as me and has been with me on all the trips has exactly the same story to tell but he won't part with his! You've made a great choice, enjoy it, it's a great bike. I was planning to get a 450 Himalayan but when I was eventually able to try one, found it was not my cup of tea. It is so different to the 411, thought I'd might as well go radically different! hence the Voge. My advice is stock with the Himmy for a few years - you'll love it! Good luck and safe riding, Richard.
@@ChristineArksey Thing with the Himalayan, it can & will go anywhere, loaded up or not, it doesn't effect it. OK, it's not going to get your there fast, but I'm personally not bothered as I've the mindset that wants to travel in a relaxed way, while taking my surroundings in. It suits my preferences perfect...& with it's character it's a fantastic bike. I'll probably keep it indefinitely & only get another bike (Voge 525dsx, MT450 etc) if I want two bikes. In all honesty the Himalayan is happy doing anything upto UK road legal speeds anyhow. What do you think?
Just goes to show how we are all being ripped off from the big brand names. My only question would be the build quality after winter riding. Great review 👏
@@nigelsride There’s chap on here who bought TRK 502 Benelli and swears if you spray it, when new or shiny clean, with one of the rust prevention sprays these Asian bikes will go through winter rain or shine. Just bought some XCP oil spray for my new bike when it arrives.
@@nigelsride Think the truth is any manufacturers bike will rust eventually if neglected so prevention is the key. It’s how I’ve always treated my bikes so that they stay rust free and shiny.
Nice review, thank you. You've helped me make my mind. Also considering Moto Morini xcape and cf moto 450. This one seems to be the winner. Greetings from Czechia! 😊
Thanks, very informative, and confirms to me I made the right choice.. unfortunately, in my residence country, 2 months late delivery, waiting for it since july !
I rode to Morfa Borth on Thursday not far from where you were on my Triumph Tiger 900GT pro , around 500 mile round trip and loved it, but to think I could have 2 of those bikes and still get around 2.5k in change is amazing and mine didn't come with luggage for that price wow ! .....................👍
You’ve made me wonder now whether I’m buying the right bike! - had set my heart on an 450MT but now I’m thinking for more road miles the 525x would be better? We’re truly being spoilt at the moment with more and more brilliant 400 - 600cc adventure bikes that put the big ones to shame when you consider what they cost. I remember trying a cb500 years ago and loving its playful twin engine when my super bike was in for a service - looks like the new Voge has nailed it and then there’s all the gear you get! Incredible bike for the money.
My heart says 450MT but head 525dsx - from what I’m hearing I’m heading more and more in the direction of the Voge since I spend more time on the road.
Thanks glad you enjoyed the review. Yes I’m still super keen on the 525 👍. I think depending on what you are after and budget both bikes are great. The 525 engine really impressed me and is really capable. The 900 definitely has more power if you want to blast about 💥 or looking for 2 up touring.
@HelmetHead My interest is in the 525 as it is lighter and sounds powefull enough for most riding. Uncle Wang does a full power kit comprising unrestricted ECU different exhaust headers/collector and a freeflow air filter which takes power up to about 55 hp rather than the ECU restricted Euro A2 compliant 47.6hp. Kit alleges to pull torque into the bottom end of the rev range. I'm pretty sure these are all voge genuine parts.
Just purchased a voge 500 ds a couple of months ago and having owned everything from a zzr1400, fireblade, 2 gsxr 600 right down to a burgman 650, honda integra 750 even I can say that the voge does everything as well as those bikes and seems to be built just as well too. The best bit for me so far is the fact you can plod as little as 28 mph in 6th or thrash the crap out of it and feel like you really are working it but look down and still doing legal speeds, not that it's slow though, you just have to work it a bit harder than others I have owned but it's the 77 mpg that impresses me the most, 73 mpg working it hard riding with pal on a gsx1000f
I have a 21 Heritage (seat height 668mm) I’m 5’8” and can flat foot which I feel comfortable with ,the Voge is 810mm seat height ,I don’t know if I would feel the same ,I am thinking of an Adv Bike ,any suggestions please ?.Apart from wearing 70s style platform soles 😊
Hi I’m 5’8 and the bike feels really light and comfortable. I totally get what you mean about the seat height. But i would recommend test riding one it’s a real confidence inspiring bike on the road. 👍
It’s a Serious middle weight contender this one isn’t it? To say you’d replace the AT with it is praise indeed and you’d probably get money back out of it to spend on adventures! It’s also good looking for an adventure bike. Another lovely review!
Service intervals is every 5000 miles and average service cost is £190 depending on the dealer. With every 3rd service being a major one costing £400 hope this helps 👍
I'm just curious, how come it's only in the UK that side bags are included in the price? In Scandinavia, France, Spain, etc you have to buy them as accessories. If you ask me, it's incredibly unfair 😢
£5999 absolutely fully loaded, with manufacturer and dealer profit, shipping and OTR costs. That makes the bike around £4000…£4500. When you said it weighs less than 190kg, that's far too light for a fully loaded adventure bike. My old cb500x was 200kg without accessories. Correct weight for the type of bike it was (Although I have to say , as an all year round rider, I didn't enjoy riding it, because as it turns out I don't like bikes with large protective screens on, Hence change to f model.) Do not buy any bike until you have test ridden it, I listened too much to youtubers over my Himalayan 450, and cancelled the order after test riding it!
