Desert Commander on the NES - NESfriend

What's up with Desert Commander on the NES? Have you ever been in a desert? Whenever I think of deserts, I think of that scene from Spaceballs where they comb the desert and they cut to the guys actually using giant combs in the sand. Spaceballs is great, man.

This is a game I wish I had played as a kid, as I think I probably would have really enjoyed it. Not saying I wouldn't enjoy this now, but it's hard to go back to older strategy games for me when I've spent so much time with more modern series. Great vid!

I remember having fun playing this with my cousins a lot. I played it with dad some but we preferred Conflict because dad played a lot of hex based wargames and introduced me to them when I was young.

I LOVED this game as a teenager.
It opened up my interest in war strategy games,which led me to Conflict and PTO on NES later on down the line. Looking forward to your reviews in this genre in the future!

I think it's of the easier to grasp ones on the system. Of course, if you want the real good stuff, the GBA Wars games are where it's at.
