I wish 360 degree cameras were included as standard. It's a must-have feature for me and is on my 2013 Leaf Tekna. Lots of sellers don't accurately report a car's features or they try to list everything and make a hash of it, obviously a car has seatbelts in 2023 and it probably doesn’t need to be on the feature list.
Feature shown from 4:00 - birds eye view, seems to be a little-known feture in the Ioniq 38 too (not sure about the 28). Maybe not as good as that shown on the e-C4 but certainly helps avoid backing up to but not into bollards etc.
Around 15 years ago during a rainstorm, I reversed my Renault Megane Coupe into a bollard which costs a fortune to repair and affected my insurance for several years afterwards. I only wish this kind of technology had been widely available then.
You definitely need some sponsorship from Citroen, that was so informative. Love that you keep in the failures too, hilarious how tech refuses to work as usual when you particularly want it to.😅 I got the fact that it remembers what its seen and shows you it but the overhead shot puzzles me... magic obviously!😂
The front/side sensors was one reason I bought one. The side sensors weren’t on all cars after 2021. Maybe the rain affected sensors. The sensors also activate when you are nearly stationary in traffic sometimes.
Thank you vey much for this video. I've just purchased eC4 today and I will collect it in 3 days from local dealer. I found your video very useful and informative in the most natural way it can be. Cheers.
Very useful and informative video. I have a Kona but keep looking at the EC4 as i have back/ comfort issues and this car is widely regarded as comfortable. These features are great, must get a test drive.
Yes the e-C4 is very comfortable. I didn't find the seats comfortable at first, but you do get used to them and they are good. But on a short test drive, it might be difficult to tell. Compared to a Kona, you'll find the e-C4 more relaxing as it has a less powerful motor, but its quieter and a much softer suspension. Its performance is more than adequate though. It can still spin the front wheels if you boot it.
@@AndyC2_ I don't find it a problem whatsoever. In fact, it's been 2 months since the car was last washed and I can see out just fine. Just like the Hyundai Ioniq, the lower part of the glass gets dirty, but the larger top part is kept cleaner by the spoiler catching the spray.
Hello sir, your videos are very helpful and insightful, thank you. Quite odd as well that other journalist tend to do the same sort of videos, and yours are so much better while it doesn’t look that hard. Much appreciated. A question I’m hoping you can answer: The lane departure warning system which also keeps the E-C4 in the lanes when you’re not paying attention should work above 65 km/h (I’m guessing 50 miles/h?) In my E-C4 Shine it doesn’t always work, while the roads are sometimes pretty much identical when driving rural areas. So sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn’t and I can’t figure out why it just doesn’t work all the time. For reference: We also own a 2020 308 GT-line, so also from stellantis, and on that vehicle it always works when you’re driving above 50 m/h and it’s very reliable. So I don’t understand why on the E-C4 it’s so flakey. Greets from the Netherlands
Hi, thank you, great video. I want an e-C4 and a Big Mac now. Something else I can't find documented on UA-cam, I would be interested to know what the AVAS sounded like on the e-C4. Cheers.
AVAS is subtle on the e-C4. I'll see if I can record it, but I've tried recording a slow drive by video of this once and it didn't work, so I haven't bothered since.
I just got mine, it's the top spec Model with camera at the front, self driving on the Autobahn etc. What I don't get is why they've dropped the self parking feature called "Park Assistant" on the 2024 Model, you can't order it anymore.
Thanks for the very informative video, it's another good one. Question, does the passenger driver's side wing mirror fold downwards when you put it into reverse?
I've had to go out and double check as I normally turn off auto-dipping as I don't like it. But no, a 2021 Shine Plus doesn't have auto-dipping. It does have auto-folding mirrors, which you can turn on/off (advisable to turn off in these freezing conditions).
Hi Matt, I have been driving an e-C4 Shine Plus since September of this year and I really enjoy your informative videos. Mine does have the front camera, but I've never noticed the side warning feature that you so nicely demonstrated. I have a remark and a question. The remark first: you're driving around with the passenger seat heating on and there's no butt occupying the seat. And the question is: what do you do in case of a flat tire? As far as I know there's no spare tire and no puncture repair kit with these beauties.
Seat heater - it's left on when there was last a passenger in the car, which was the evening before. They don't turn off when the car does, like they do on many other vehicles. Flat tire - I carry two puncture repair kits in all my vehicles. A gunk type one (amzn.to/3uCrzHA) and a string one (amzn.to/4afD0FI). You can get yourself out of trouble with these unless its a side wall puncture.
Not sure. It would be hard work to install the originals and get it to integrate into the software. You'd be better off just buying an aftermarket sensor kit for about £25 and just having a buzzer. They work very well. Or just by the appropriate model that has front sensors fitted from the factory.
Is the lack of a rear wiper an issue? The camera is great for reversing, but I like to keep an eye on what's behind at all times and I've read reports that the back window quickly gets obscured.

Yes, the drop down function is very clever and particularly useful.

As per usual great information that no one else provides. Thanks Matt.

Looks like a very well equiped car for the money and the used prices look like exceptional value. Thanks for the video 👍
Yes, these are cracking used EVs for the money.
Except for a rear wiper

Have the newer models got an optimised heat pump and final drives ratios? If so this should improve efficiency.
This video turned into an advert for McDonald's. They should be sponsoring this video!
Ah, but I didn't show my food.

Very handy camera most truck have camera side back front in case of crash for courts employers look at footage driving day in office
We're looking at a shine plus second hand... The small battery is really annoying though... Coming from a Model 3 long range...

@GoGreenAutos Thanks very much for checking and for the folding mirror advice. It's really appreciated.

Thanks for this; really useful!
Do you find this car is better than the Hyundai ioniq?
Not for efficiency, but yes I do prefer it slightly more over the Ioniq. For comfort and higher seat/ride height.
@@GoGreenAutos thank you for your reply mate, much appreciated.
@@GoGreenAutos I do think the infotainment system on the ioniq is better than the ec4. That's the biggest let down on it for me
Excellent informative video....thank you
Maybe the car just doesn't like junk food 😂
Cheers for this as very helpful
Glad it helped.
Superior video. Thank you for making it.
Glad you liked it. Thanks.
Such a great car
