Nobody sings with more power and passion and intensity than Diana. She makes you believe everything she sings. She captures you into her world and doesn't release you until she chooses to. There is nobody in the world who sings like Diana because nobody CAN sing like Diana. She's not one in a million. She's one in seven billion.
The tone quality of her voice is what really sets her apart from every other singer to me. Her voice hits me like a sledgehammer, right in my soul. I could listen to her sing all day!
With Diana you don't get only singing, you get musical theater. She does all of her own interpretations and arrangements.

It's a cover. The song is about a girl who's getting married and so she seeks advice from her dead mother at 'The River'.
Actually, this song is a folk song. Should _any_ rendition of a folk song be considered a cover? If you mean another famous performer of this song - Alla Pugacheva, then the arrangement of this folk song used by Diana is very different from Pugacheva's one, isn't it?
Most folk songs are public domain songs, so yes we can say cover, but probably using word “version” is a better way
@@annsouren There is a video of another Russian artist singing this ten or so years ago. Apparently she is well known in Russia and it was a big hit.
"Man of Constant Sorrow' is a folk song made popular in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou". Home Free is said to have done a 'cover' of it.

This competition is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children. The musical project “You are super! can give to children who do not have a prosperous childhood, not only positive emotions, but also hope for changes in their fates. Eighty children from various countries can now take part, understanding that they have outstanding talents. Only the best of the best will be able to complete all the selections.
Diana entered the competition in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. 2018 (3rd season) Diana sang 'Derniere danse' (French), 'It's a Man's Man's Man's World' (Engl.), 'The River' (Russ.), 'Tomorrow Is A Lie' (Engl.) and 2019 (super season) Diana won the Grand Prix with 'Blizzard' (Russ.), 'Wicked Game' (Engl.) and 'Human' (Engl.).
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to UA-cam and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start studying and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy, as a juror, gave her a small apartment in Moscow. So, she could start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy (She died of Covid-19 in Oct. 2020)...

Rechenka“/ Little River: This is an old Russian ritual song and this is the story: An orphan girl should/ wants to get married and goes to the little river, the border between the living and the dead, and asks her mother for the blessing (mother's whisper)... The horses stand in the courtyard, the guests are gathered, the wedding celebration begins. In Russia it was customary to ask to cry at a wedding. That should chase away evil spirits and bring good luck
This is musical competition and TV Show "You are Super" - this is a musical competition for children (from an orphanage, without parents or adopted). Diana won 2nd season in 2018 and won 3rd superseason in 2019 (Gran-Prix as best performer all seasons). I have listened to this performance many times and it always sends a shiver down my spine! Diana now performs this in her concerts, but acapella and it sounds unbelievably good! She dropped it from her repertoire for a short while but so many people asked "Where is my little river??" so she bought it back but decided on acapella because she thought it sounded more affective - I agree, it's great! I would recommend "Human" next. It is almost entirely in her first register and she really enjoys performing it. When you watch, remember that there are no effects on her voice, it is all her.
Hi Ann! What a wonderful reaction! You mentioned her stage presence, and it brought to mind a video I saw where she was in a live stage concert, and there was a "gentleman"who had paid good money with the sole purpose of heckling her. She ruled the situation as gracefully as she does the stage in all her songs. She wouldn't engage him in discussion, but simply pointed out that if he was unhappy, he shouldn't be there and eventually he was escorted out. She handled it perfectly. I LOVE this lady!

She sings it in English and the meaning of this song is so spiritual “ only here and now... Tomorrow is a Lie ( all that exists is the next moment).

Вы, конечно, хотели сказать, почему она не взяла фамилию Поник, фамилию "приёмной матери" Ирины Поник. Дело в том, что Ирина не удочеряла Диану, а только взяла под опеку, хотя "де факто" исполняла роль приёмной матери все эти годы.
