- This 14ft modern modern turned out amazing! I was worried about it sagging once I installed it because of the length but I planned for it and every fit in perfect.

I admire your cleanest workshop. Congratulations Jimbo
Nice to see Jombo at work.
You rock those “Jerusalem cruziers” it’s your shop your house. 👍🤘🤙
I wouldn't pay anyone any mind about your sandals. Your at your house and your house is your castle to do as you please. Great job on the gate jimbo. As always I look forward to seeing your next project 👍
Amazing job. You did it with ease.
The gate looks awesome! Super clean build and amazing craftsmanship, as usual. Thanks for putting this out here for us to view / learn!
We’re Cali welders. Leather sandals are a must 👍🏼🇺🇸 Cali Welders approved 😂
Whoever designed that gate knew what he/she was doing. Absolutely love the side gate idea. Would have never thought of doing it like that
Beautiful final product! You, Sir, are an artist. I appreciate all that you show us in how you make these things!
Love it! Quality workmanship as always!
Very clean installation. Looks great.
CLEAN looking gate! Wow 👌
I always enjoy your videos. If anyone in here says they have never welded in slip on shoes doesn’t weld very much.
Very nice and very clean and elagent design there. Hopefully they love it. Can't wait to see more videos soon Jimbo. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Jimbo, that turned out very nice, Thanks for sharing.
Well done! I've used Winsor for my outside columns when I loved in Lakewood. Boy I miss Schorr Metals and Austin's Hardwoods!
Love to see you work
Looks awesome great work always enjoy your videos. 👍👍
HOLY COW well done !!
nice to see u ofter long time ❤️❤️❤️
Man, you do good work.
Very good man!!!
nice and clean gate build
Beautiful
Nice Work Sir.
Nice work
I just did a 13 FT gate. It attached to a 4x6 sunk in concrete via a 3 inch angle iron which was 4 ft long with barrel hinges welded onto it. The 4x6 post did sag about an inch under the weight which I anticipated so I attached a heavy duty caster to the latch side of the gate to support the weight. Aesthetics were not a consideration for this one since it was just a utility gate at the far end of the property.
At least you had socks on! 😀
Stunning finish. If I welded the top corner, outside and inside corner like you it would distort the frame . Even if clamping down. I also weld the board holding plates on the inside so you can't see the welds.
Love watching your videos, gate looks great!
Wondering if you ever use adjustable gate hinges? If over time, for whatever reason, that gate does sag or the posts starts pulling over due to the weight of the gate, you can adjust the top hinge to pull the gate back up, I'm guessing king metals supply some.
Keep up the great work 🙂
We would like to see installation next time. Thanks
Nice shop
Jimbo, I have to do a 3000lbs swing gate, the trick is to use 4 bullet hinges 2 at the top 2 at the bottom, same applies to long span swing gates
Helló!! HUNGARI! Sándor Kazinczi!! Ok full!!!!!
Interesting friend.. like it✌️
Good 👍.
That table crane is excellent! do you ever use all of those welders now? Seems like you have a couple of favorites and the rest sit collecting dust .Had to laugh at the sandals; it's easy to get caught up in a project. I've gotten into the groove in shorts and man that can hurt! LOL Also, your welding skill has really come along over the years since I've been watching your channel. Way to go.
Nice
you are a grown ass man. if you want to weld barefoot, thats on you. dont apologize. im more offended by the wearing socks with sandals lol! the gate is badass, as always
Thanks for a great video.
Do you ever put a cross brace on a gate like this to stop sag like a traditional wood gate.
Maybe it would spoil the look
Again many thanks
Do a video on the sandals. I like them .
I made a similar gate and ended up installing a wheel which worked good but was not expected.
The gate looks great! Awesome quality. I noticed the tongue on the wood was facing down, shouldn't it be facing up to shed water when it rains? Also, I heard that WindsorONE wood is considered an architectural trim product and they won't warranty it if it is used for fences, handrails and gates.
That was what I was thinking Chinese workboots Lol 😂
7:05 - I am more concerned with you wearing socks with sandals
Hi JIM. What software you use far steel fabrication? Thank you!
What if we don’t have a supporting wall? Would a cemented post be enough to hold up the entire gate?
Hey Jimbo, great job as always. This is just a question so all the haters please don’t be jumping on my case. But to help with the sag if there was worry about it how about a wheel that the end of the gate would ride on for support?
It’s alright. I plow snow in sandals.
What welding machine do you recommend jimbo?
I stumbled across your channel a few weeks ago because I’m planning on building a steel gate very similar to this gate but with cedar inlay. My gate will the a double gate with each gate 10.5 ft wide. Do you have a recommendation on what thickness metal I should go with? I was planning on using 14 gauge 2x2 square tube. Is that sufficient or should I go up to something like 11 gauge? Thanks for any insight you may have.
Pretty much built the same gates for our backyard when I got bored during covid. By the time I was done I completed one large gate similar to this and four man gates. Good job!
I happen to have a pair of japanese safety boots exactly the same as yours...
Hi, I have a question. How do usually install the poles in the concrete to which the gate is attached to in such a way that during hot weather the gate will not move by temperature variation/metal expansion?
Do you go really deep with the poles in the concrete or do you put a horizontal beam/square tube on the lower side between the vertical poles which will also be covered in concrete?
Awesome work Jimbo. Quick question, how does the gate go regarding rust? Cheers, keep up the good work
It's powdercoated.
Im curious what you charged for the gate? I've done 4 Automatic drive way gates n felt I didn't charge enough for the effort I put in.
I build 20 ft gates all day. Never an issue. I built 27 ft swing gates and 35 ft rolling gates
What did you paint it with?
You are tallented! We are going to put you on Americas Got Tallent - You need to be there-...
Look at the other parts of the world every thing is done barefoot or in sandals.
Finally desiners give us permit to wear socks with sandals.
My respect for you mr jimbo but I’d rather use regular hinges heavy duty ones you can always adjust those about 1/2 inch
Don't know the climate but if it's warmer why can't you set up a caster for assist to open and no sag.
💝💝💝💝
Safety slippers? 😀
Helo, im from Indonesia
Made video until instalation please 🙏
Add a gate wheel.
Simple solution put a jockey wheel on end on a adjuster deflection problems solved.
Check your gloves, Michael Jackson... lol
Nevermind the haters about your Chinese workboots. You’re wearing socks at least.
😂🤣😅
😂😂😂😂 safety sandals
Jimbo got steel toenails
That’s a large gate.
But those are special sock toe safety sandals. 😅
PL,👍👍👍👍👍👍☺️
Love the @jimmydiresta scribe pen! Man is a living legend!
Nothing wrong wearing sandals, i do anything in my crocs and fabricate wearing them
sliding gate have lot lot better use.
I don't have an issue with my sandals, my wife dresses me every day and checks on me for good measure. Nope. I'm not the boss but I do know who is.
Honey - this gate is gonna cost me 2 months salary. Do u want a ring or the gate?
❤❤❤ KNEE BRACE IN GATE FRAME , LARGER POST DEEPER PLAT ,,, NOT SO MUCH HINGES NEED OVER SIZE YES ,INSTALLED CORRECTLY ,, LARGER POST & DEEPER SET MASS IN SIZE .COOL
Your shop you were rules if you want to work barefooted that's your business
Who cares about the sandals i do the same
this dude is afraid of welding deformations
14:46 is that a metric measuring tape?
