Around 30 years ago I asked the question, “why would Hitler make the same mistake as Napoleon despite his admiration for the man?” This led to research on the matter which concluded exactly what you have revealed in this video. Frankly, it also led to other questions about other allegations against the Reich during this period, and the conclusions there were even more revealing. But that is a topic frowned upon by the powers that be.

I heard an explanation that the germans couldn't figure out why Great Briton hadn't sought peace after the continent had been conquered and a victory over germany was impossible by themselves. The conclusion being that they were banking on soviet help and that the invasion was an attempt to shut that down. I suppose it kind of fits into the explanation of this video.

Britian didnt make peace with Germany because of the influence of Winston Churchill's prompters. If you look into the demographic of Churchill's prompters, you will find they are the same actors of those inside of the Kremlin; the orchestrators of the bolsheviks. The british did not put their hope in the soviets, for the prompters of Churchill knew through the brotherhood of their tribe, that they can collaborate with the fellow tribesmen who inhabit positions of Administration within the Soviet Union. A two front war for Germany was inevitable.

Britain didn't seek peace because it was banking on dragging the US into the European theater. Drunk childmolester Prime Minister churchil who was happily squating at a majestic jewish house he could have never afford from his salary, and who received significant sum from jews to drag brittain into the war is the reason why brittain had any beef with germany to begin with. He even ordered massive warcrimes to be commited on germans to provoke some sort of retaliation, because public support for "yet another war" with gernany, was very low at the time among british population. In WWII the first assault after the French declaration of war against Germany was a multi-division assault by France through lower Alsace into the German Saarland, called the Saar offensive. lebensraum was always in the context of a thousand year empire, referencing of course the hre, germans expanded past the oder to prussia, to moravia, to austria, to the seven cities in transvania, to lemberg, to the overlordship of the baltics(eventually under russians, the czar being part german even). its not as if this expansion was ever a goal of the hre, and it was many times directly invited as in prussia by poland and translvania by hungary, if germans were really superior this would no doubt continue with or without war.
theres also the need for resources, germamy needed oil(as with japan) and access to grain and to the sea, obviously germany can get what it needs from others during peace but its always something looming, so it was a long term strategic goal to acquire these things somehow it didnt need to be war, but given history and given the explicit expansionist intent of the soviet union, war in the coming decades was expected, and germany certainly hoped to gain these long term needs from whatever that war would be

One of the main objective of the UK, then the US for many decades was (and is) to hinder the meeting of European (mostly German) technology, and the Asian (Russian) resources. Because it would mean the end of the (((American))) Empire, and American-like prosperity for the people of the aforementioned continents. Hence the war in Ukraine today. The US spent 5 billion dollars to destabilize Ukraine, and 3 more to support its proxy war against Russia.

"Lebensraum" was a policy that long preceded the NatSoc government. It was a widely supported rubric of conservative policy and actually meant the expansion into Turkish controlled Central Asia and the Black Sea region, prompted by the collapse of Ottoman power. Hitler was simply reading from the nationalist script. Germany's assault mostly drove North anyway.

There is a book “The Icebreaker” written by Victor Suvorov, a Russian Spy who defected to the UK sometime in the 70’s I believe. It describes everything mentioned in the video from the Russian perspective. Operation Icebreaker, a top secret Soviet operation where Germany was to serve as an Icebreaker into Europe while the 20000 tanks, hundreds divisions of paratroop air gliders (yes all offensive, as paratrooper are never used in defensive warfare) and airports filled with aircraft would then be used to completely steamroll Europe and fulfill Lenin’s promise to spread Communism through the entirety of Europe and later the world.
Had this actually happened, there would have been no D Day, no Allied offensive freeing Europe. The Russian Army would have faced nearly zero resistance from a war torn Europe. This is also why on the first day of Barbarossa almost the entirety of the Russian Air Force and tank cores were obliterated - they were all in parking lots on the border getting ready to invade. Had they been stationed defensively inland, dug in in forests, with aviation stationed deep inside Russia a surprise attack by German air forces on the first day would have been not only impossible but also completely ineffective.

Suvorov is wrong on the motivation and aim of the Soviet Attacking plan, which was infact to struck first to prevent a supposed German Aggression and not to occupying European countries for the purpose of installing there Communist Client Regimes. If Suvorov would be really right, then the USSR had make more efforts to support Communists during the Civil Wars in China (the Chinese Communists won mainly alone without any foreign support) and in Spain and later in Greece. Guido Giacomo Preparata is right with his point of view that UK and US enabled the rise to power of both Nazis and Communists to prevent a German-Russian Alliance.

I do not usually agree with your points(hard to considering fact I am Czech), but you are partly right there.
It's a fact that the Soviets were preparing for an invasion of Europe. I read many books about it because my mind was bothered with questions like "How the hell they captured so many soldiers despite the Soviets having a shitload of equipment". According to Stalin´s original ideas, he wanted to wait until France, Britain, Germany, and others went to war with each other and were exhausted from it. Then, he would use this weakness and the chaos surrounding it to grab as much as possible. Lebensraum wasn't the main reason but a sweet bonus, everybody knew war with USSR was inevitable.
    Many reasons he did it:
    1) Oil
    2) Despised communism
    3) Preventive strike
    4) Lebensraum
    5) Wheat from Ukraine to feed an embargoed population
Another important thing is that Stalin thought war in Europe will be quite longer and he will have more time to prepare his armies for it and that is one of the reasons his army sucked at the beginning.
Its sad that its either nazi apology like "he didn't want Lebensraum" which is a lie or history written by victors with "smoothed edges". The world is not black and white only. Do not glorify atrocities nazis committed. Its easier to say it for you from England than from someone whose family members were forcibly conscripted to do hard labor in German factories.

ASKING if the Soviets wanted to bum-rush the West and take Germany is pointless because they DID IT anyway in direct violation of an agreement they made with England and America when moving into Berlin.
In the last days of the war, there was the plan to move the western front and eastern front into Berlin at the same time, and the Soviets pushed ahead and surrounded the city without the US or UK. And later in the talks about how to divvy up the occupied Germany, the Soviets leveraged everything they had, and East Berlin and West Berlin became a thing. They occupied the entirety of East Germany, controlling a disproportionate amount of territory, while the UK, the US, and France had to divide West Germany up among themselves.
If you look at how the Soviets operated, they were the most aggressive expansionist dictatorship you'd ever seen, with the Soviet/communist Sphere of influence occupying the eastern block of Europe, basically all of mainland Asia, much of the Middle East, several entire regions of Africa, and a swath of South America, and everywhere the ideology went they killed as many people the nazis did if not more, but because the killings were political it's for some reason less bad.

It sounds quite plausible (and it makes sense from a great power point of view) that the Soviets were planning an attack on the Reich and western Europe, and that the Germans knew it, and thus pre-empted the Soviet attack with an attack of their own. Great powers do this sort of thing. They move when an opportunity for gain *presents* itself...and they react defensively when they see a looming threat from another great power. From the Soviet point of view....the entire West had detested them from the start and was determined to crush them out of existence as soon as the First World War ended. Churchill was among their most vehement foes, and all the Allied nations fielded armies in Russia after WWI to help fight the Bolsheviks...but the Bolsheviks won in the end. After that, the Soviet state was regarded as an absolute pariah by the rest of Europe. So, why would Stalin *not* consider "the West" to be his mortal enemy? Stalin would have been delighted to see a war break out between Hitler's Germany and the British-French Alliance, since this would divide his great power enemies against *each other* and thus strengthen Soviet Russia's strategic position. What could be better from the Russian point of view at that time? France then fell to the Germans. More good news for the Russians, because one of their major great power enemies was removed from the strategic chessboard. Then the British and Germans were locked in a titanic struggle which appeared to have no foreseeable end....more good news for the Russians!
What Hitler was doing also made sense, from Germany's point of view. Number 1, he wanted back German empire lands that had been lost at the end of WWI. This included a large part of Poland. The Russians also wanted back land which THEY had lost due to WWI and the events that immediately followed....and that included a large part of Poland and the Baltic nations, and some other bits of land elsewhere. So, at that point both the Germans and the Russians had essentially the same concerns, a desire to recover lost lands, and a very keen desire to eliminate the new nation state of Poland *entirely*! So naturally they were able to come to an agreement, make a German-Soviet pact, and divide up Poland, give the Baltic states back to Russia, and so on. They were both recovering former imperial territory. This again IS what great powers do! It doesn't require enormous amounts of "evil" to do that, it's just normal great power behavior, that's all. They play to win the big imperial game, that's all...and they move when they think the time is right.
For the Soviets to plan a major offensive into western Europe while Hitler was tied up fighting the British made very good sense from a Soviet point of view, because it was highly likely to succeed. The Germans clearly had a very effective and deadly war machine. One to be feared. Everyone could see that in 1940-41. When would they be most vulnerable? While they were still tied up fighting the British. Would there ever be a better time to fight the Germans than while they were still occupied fighting the UK? No! Because of this, I consider the theory that Russia was planning to attack Germany in probably the summer or fall of '41 quite likely to be correct. It makes sense from a pragmatic point of view. And so they massed huge forces in an offensive posture along their western borders in the spring of 1941.
But the Germans could see those preparations. They knew what was coming. And their only viable options were to: 1. Set up the strongest possible defenses on their eastern borders with Russia. or.... 2. Attack the Russians first! The 2nd option was more likely to give them the initiative and achieve a decisive victory...and Hitler always tended to think in offensive, not defensive terms. So the Germans went ahead with the most powerful attack they possible could against the Soviet Union....and came quite close to winning their war in the East, because it was simply the best option they had IF the Soviets were planning to attack them anyway.
I have said nothing here about who I think was "more evil" a system....the Soviets or the Nazis....because it's irrelevant to the strategic realities that drove them both to act against one another. Both Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany had the strongest reasons to fear *each other* in the 1940's, and both acted in a pragmatic and rational way to do what seemed to make the most sense.......strictly from *their* point of view. That's what great powers do. They fight either when they think they can win.......................or when circumstances give them NO choice, even though the odds of winning may be long ones. And for the Germans, the odds of winning a total war in Russia *were* long ones, as history has shown us. But they probably had no real choice about it. (Nor did the Russians, once the Germans had fired the first shots... The die was cast. They would both suffer incredible losses as a result, which was a tragedy for both nations. It is the ordinary people who suffer what the empires decide. And the soldiers on both sides would absolutely believe that they were "saving the world".)

@@tobiasphilippwittlinger8753 - Yes, Germany was desperately short of oil (Ploesti wasn't enough to meet their needs), and the only place they could get it was...in Russia. So yes, it was highly likely that the Germans would eventually invade Russia. And yes, it makes sense that the Russians would decide to strike first. And then it also makes sense that the Germans would detect the Russian preparations and would decide to strike the Russians first. It was just normal survival strategy on the part of both Germany and Russia...
I also agree with you that the Russians have no desire *now* to take over western Europe....they are simply reacting defensively to what they see as a threat *from* the West (the West taking over Ukraine, following the coup in 2014, and arming Ukraine to fight Russia).
Whether the Soviets had any intention of taking over western Europe in Stalin's time....I'm not sure about that. They did end up taking over about half of Europe simply in the process of defeating Hitler's Third Reich. Whether that was their original intention before the fighting started....I don't know.

4:00 - about time someone said this. Your other video I watched mentioned the situation as well. Fascism and aligned groups were a reaction to the red terror of both the anarchist/communist groups active within all major western cities, and a direct defensive ideology to horrors reported back from within the Soviet Union.
This is objectively a fact to anyone looking 2nd level to the era. Practically speaking, if our ‘elites’ or ‘intellectuals’ today want to avoid the public trending towards right wing reactionary political movements; the ‘elites ‘and ‘intellectuals’ need to stop threatening societal security, economics, and family traditions..... yet these disruptive ‘progressive’ billionaire backed groups still press knowing this.
It appears the ends justify the means to these megalomaniacs, and one may argue that one of their goals is to indeed have a more extreme society on both ends, not just the left end.
Kodos to you, my brother for having such wisdom in your videos seeking the truth, it is refreshing to watch videos clearly from someone in their 20’s, dare I say on the early end of that age range having such an in-depth perspective.

The flames must be fanned until they turn into an inferno. Wars don't spontaneously "break out"; they arren't an organic outbreak such as the measels or mumps. WARS ARE FOMENTED. Divide and conquer. 4:10 is total BS. There was no Soviet build up on the border. There was a partial mobilization that started late Spring of 1941 and it was in great depth to the interior, not at the border. It was not the largest in history as stated, and the large tank concentrations had more to do with maintenance issues with worn out equipment, turning them in to depots, getting new equipment, etc. Those units were only just forming and were not well manned, equipped, trained, etc. Their combat value was minimal as Barbarossa showed. Molotov was not invited to sign the Pact. He was invited to discuss the terms and actually was almost begging to be part of the Pact.
Nazi Soviet pact wasn't just a non-aggression pact, Nazi-SOviet cooperation was in full force since 1938, with Soviets supplying Hitler with needed raw materials needed for war, especially oil..
They both invaded Poland and cooperated their logistics. They had a joint victory parade after taking Poland.
Hitler and Stalin congratulated each other various occasions such as birthdays and military victories.
The Congress of Soviets from 1938 had turned their polarity on Gemany and England, but calling out England as an enemy whos trying to sabotage the Soviet German relationship between 2 brotherly peoples.
All this in summation is a path of cooperation that major allies take on.

While discussing this topic i think it's important that we stay away from glorifying the nazis.
It is true that the Soviet Union was going to attack Germany, but it should be noted that this cannot be used as an excuse for the genocidal actions the Nazis did commit in the Soviet Union and other parts of Europe.
Entire rations were seized from ukrainian and belorussian cities, Kharkiv was ordered to be starved to death, thousands of towns were wiped clean.
Soviet Rule wasnt pleasent for these said peoples, but the nazis weren't liberators, they were brutal occupiers. Many who initially saw the nazis as liberators would inevitably change their views and welcome the return of soviet rule.
And i do often see a comparison of soviet gulags with concentration camps, and it is honestly pathetic to see this as a justification of warcrimes. Seriously, grow a heart for Christ's sake.
In conclusion the video was well made and great, but i believe it is being used for the wrong means to justify the most evil regime in human history. This should not be done.

I do agree the need to demistify some of the German actions during the war but this wasn't one of them. Hitler did want to colonize territory in the East maybe not the entire USSR but you had the RK Ostland as well as other explicitly colonial projects going on. Also while the Soviets did concentrate troops in the West they were still not ready. At the earliest current military historians think the Soviets would have been ready by 1943 or even as late as 1948.

Your videos are changing everything we’ve been taught by our schools and grandparents. Always a one sided story and never from the german or hitler perspective.

Oil oil oil that's why Germany invaded the Soviet Union Germany was desperately low on fuel ao low that if they had waited any longer to invade they would have no fuel for the invasion. Also Germany used horses more than anything for a reason.

Another great video. I am fascinated by how much the history of this war has been maligned.
Your videos are a fantastic resource to compliment my reading.

I think you're reaching. Russia after seeing Hitler conquer and occupy the following countries: Poland (attacked in September 1939), Denmark (April 1940), Norway (April 1940), Belgium (May 1940), the Netherlands (May 1940), Luxembourg (May 1940), France (May 1940), Yugoslavia (April 1941), and Greece (April 1941). It would make sense that Russian would preemptively build offensive positions for a counter invasion. Hitler and Stalin had high unachievable hopes. However, people painting either as saints or saviors and aligning misperceptions to further their beliefs is rather asinine.

Stalin invaded the exact same number of nations as Hitler did during that time period, so that’s hard to buy

@@ZoomerHistorian Hitler came to power in 1933 after a failed election and death of Hindenburg via constitutional fiat so let's do a comparison of what could have been deemed a threat after 1933 for self defense since the nonelected chancellor would have been privy to information during that time.
1938 Japan clashed with Russia and won and in 1939, Poland with the Germans. Prior to 33 the Soviet Union expanded until Poland.
So I'm not seeing your logic. Please send dates and countries not blanket statements if you're a historian please provide history. I am truly curious.
I love history so I am interested in what countries. I don't like blanketed statements.
I agree that Hitler probably got ansy and hit first, but to say it was self defense is reaching. That is like believing when Goebbels said the invasion of Poland was in retaliation for an attack on Germany. Which was conducted by German commandos dressed as Poles when Otto Skorzeny was interviewed. Hitler assumed Russia would be an easy victory as the rest of Europe was, other wise in self defense he wouldn't have planned to take Moscow. Self defense or limited wars are just meant to maul your opponent not conquer them.
I had a relative take part in Barbarossa and what he was told was vastly different. Also The Soviets had massed large forces on their western frontier, but they were under orders not to provoke the Germans. Although mistrustful of Hitler, Stalin did not believe that he would attack so soon, despite the ominous German build-up and a stream of intelligence warnings.

@@ZoomerHistorianSo because Stalin annexed the Baltics and took Polish Belorussia in the Molotov agreement, that means he is now disallowed from building up? Also, not the exact same amount.

The enormous Russian tank and armaments buildup started well before 1939

To the credit of the Germans, at least they stopped invading nations 80 years ago. Look at Russia today--THREE times they invade Georgia. Russia never changes.
