Great video about the experience with the camera. Totally agree. I use it mostly for landscape and found the 30-45-100 and 100-200 to be a very useful and comprehensive kit. I do get your feelings about the 80 and the 110.

Hopefully I can pick up one of these on the used market in the future when the prices are a bit more attainable. I’m sure the image quality will still hold up in 2030 😄

Nice photographs as always. I love the Fuji shooting experience. It’s so inspiring to see a beautifully image result as one shoots (vs others that will look good in post). Looking forward to seeing your next videos.

Interesting. Very mellow take and vibe. I’m probably a lot older than your grandfather, and have been shooting medium format since the 1960s. ( Rollei, Pentax, Arca Swiss 69 ) the 50S gfx was the first digital camera that made me enjoy a camera as much as the Pentax 67. I just got the 100S. For what it is, it is TINY!!
I shoot mostly architecture with Pentax 645 in tilt shift adapters. For landscape I use Laowa 15shift, gF 23, 32-64 and canon 100-400 mark II. my impression is that the 100-400 is superior to the Fuji 100-200. But I only just started using it. It focuses to less then 36 inches so is useful for details and quasi macro work.
Really enjoy your work. Best of luck for coming year!

I own the 50r and the 100s. I can’t say which one I love using more!! I sold my 32-64 as the range wasn’t enough. I own the 30mm, 45mm and my favorite 100-200 zoom. I’m now waiting on the 20-35 which I hope it comes out before I head up to the Yukon and Alaska in June for a couple of months.

    Hi Sam,
Thanks for the great review! Definitely convinces me to buy the Fuji GFX 100s !

The video is amazing. I saw a movie made with it and there was just something special about it. I wasn’t expecting the 4k to be so amazing. Do a video where you just shoot with it in Video.

You could set it record it in 'lossless' format and still with 16bit depth. Reduces raw file sizes by a decent bit and i have had no issues with it.

I found out that the 32-64 and the 110 is perfect! Tried to choose between the 80mm f1,7 and the 110mm f2 which I had for a while, but ended up selling the 80 as I prefered the range on the 110, when also having the zoom available. Both lenses are really incredible. The gfx100s is fantastic in so many ways.

Hi Samuel. Great vid. Thanks for sharing. I’ve enjoyed following you. A question if I may…. Wondering if you are still using your Canon R5 alongside the GFX 100S? Any thoughts on using/living with both systems would be appreciated. Perhaps this could be a video? Thanks.

Personally I'm hoping Fuji up dates the GFX100 with some of the improvements in the 100S. Even if the AF and senor stayed the same if the GFX100 had the improved controls, slightly smaller XT4 batteries and smaller/lighter shutter and ibis mechnisim from the 100S as well as other design changes from the 100S to get the size and weight down so the GFX100 body could be bit closer to something like a Z9 or R3 size and weight wise it would be a really nice improvement on the camera.

For dealing with the uncompressed raw files, what size storage do you have on your computer? And what external hard drive do you use?

With a price tag of >$6,000, the ONE-YEAR WARRANTY for this camera system is a sick joke! Things always go wrong with electronic devices regardless of how well conceived and constructed they are. Having to pay through the teeth when this type of thing happens after 12 months should be a warning for everyone.

So do you think this camera is twice as good as the Sony 7Riv? Just the choice of lenses is enough to drop down from 100MP to 61MP.

The Fuji GFX 100S should have had an EVF with at least 9.5 Mp with 1.2x optical magnification. Use Lens Hood all the time, in overcast weather there are stray light from every where !

@@depht_ not in my Industry (art repro). When color accuracy is crucial, raw, custom wb, and custom camera profiles are a necessity. Even the neutral profiles aren't accurate, and auto white balance is very close, but will still need tweaking to be as neutral as possible. Shit, even custom input profiles have their weaknesses under high CRI lights and require manual adjustments for color critical work.

Nice video and camera, but what are you doing with these photos where people see the full resolution? Ive looked at photos from this camera on Instagram, Flickr etc...and you can't tell a difference between its photos and a crop sensor with 24 megapixels to be honest. Unfortunately, social media is the great equalizer.
