    // 2023 CHANNEL UPDATE //
    I’ve moved on from Mobility Mastery (self fascia release) in order to focus on teaching Kinetix, my method of root cause discovery for pain and dis-ease that involves partner fascia release as a “diagnostics” (and regeneration) tool. Kinetix is a complete scientific methodology that I teach to friends, partners and professionals alike inside The Kinetix Academy.
    My other primary focus will be the launch and growth of a new podcast and Substack community called The Human Freedom Project.
    // NEW CONTENT ON UA-cam //
    Sometime in 2023 I will return to UA-cam with HFP podcast episodes and content created to help you know and understand yourself as a whole organism made of body, soul and spirit. This content will feature the Kinetix methodology, pain science, fascia secrets I’ve learned from 15+ years in private practice, neuroscience and evolving beyond the brain, trauma and the body, and more! I’m excited to go on this new adventure with you.

    Absolute Best Chest and Front Deltoid Fascia Release: bit.ly/3rZ1ld6
    For this myofascial release technique of the deltoid, all you need is a tennis ball or lacrosse ball. And a wall.
    Reasons to do this fascia release technique:
    ✅ If you feel a pinch in your shoulders when raising them above your head (by your ears), this can indicate fascial restriction in the deltoids. Basically, it means there’s not enough room in the compressed space by the shoulder joint to accommodate the fascia adhesions that exist in the deltoid tissue.
    ✅ Tightness and restriction in the middle deltoid specifically can inhibit many of the shoulder girdle muscles that are necessary for stabilizing the scapula during poses and activities such as handstands, plank, downward dog in yoga, or being on your hands and knees for things like gardening, playing with kids or workouts that involve this position. Your lat muscles will thank you for releasing your deltoids, and so will your shoulder girdle and all those rotator cuff muscles.
    ✅ Inability to stabilize the shoulder girdle during these activities could lead to all kinds of compensations and pain, from shoulder pain to neck pain, mid back pain, tension headaches, numbness and tingling of the hands, arm pain, nerve pain shooting down the arm…so really, this ONE small area of your shoulder - when full of knots and tightness - can trigger all kinds of issues in the upper body.
    For best results, watch the video demonstration and always listen to your body.

    This is defently the one i'm gonna stick to for a while! OMG this is good stuf!! Before my favorites of the upper body where: underarms and biceps release.
    I'm a rock climber and think Alishas releasevideos are helping to feel free in my body! Thanks

      Glad you like this one! I agree, it's really good. I believe these techniques can help rock climbers be able to climb longer and recover faster, if you use them on climbing days.

    oOoO this looks clunk-tastic! Beats trying awkwardly do this on the floor like I was.

      I use the wall a lot. Increase pressure by moving feet further away.

    Thank you for sharing the different arm movements.
    I prefer to use my hands, so I've been more so raising my arm and maybe doing circles. I hadn't considered the door opening or the twisting motions. Thank you.
    Have you tried using your other hand and raising your arm?

    Do you have a video focused on rotator cuff? I have some pain in overhead movements along with clicking/knocking. Have been to PT to rule out anything serious.

    Just one and only question: how do you know I need this one? I have been having strange flare up on my left shoulder-deltoid-lat area when I am in plank, forearm plank, headstand or any yoga pose where you need to use the above issued area to ground and stabilize? I thought it was from my neck (still can be),but this vedio and the last one helps tremendously. As you mentioned in this video, how do you know if you have an inactive or under-active lat?

    • @maureendetroit
      @maureendetroit 2 роки тому

      I'd say try it. You'll immediately know if you need it or not. If it rolls freely with no pain, you may be fine here.
      My experience is that I could use some work in each area Elisha suggests. The amount of effort and exact location varies however.
      You may want to see the video on mapping the body.

      To know for sure that a muscle isn't firing, you'd have to perform an activation test (some chiropractors are trained to do this, but not all). But to know for sure you need fascia release in a given area, just try releasing it - if it's sore, tender or really intense to release then that indicates unhealthy fascia. Healthy fascia won't hurt when compressed/released.

      @@ElishaCeleste can it be a little sore after a proper release?

    • @ElishaCeleste
      @ElishaCeleste  2 роки тому +1

      @@bbunderson - I don't advocate intentionally making ourselves sore doing fascia release, but if it's a little sore after it's not a big deal. Maybe just use less pressure next time.

    I use a Yamuna Ball for all muscle and fascia release work. A tennis ball is too hard and cannot impact bones the way a Yamuna Ball can. I work from origin to insertion, always working toward holistic and synergistic balance rather than isolated release.

    • @maureendetroit
      @maureendetroit 2 роки тому +1

      That's sounds very methodical. Do you do the whole body at one time then? How long does that take? Perhaps less time once the kinks are worked out. I'd have to be doing it all day!

    • @ElishaCeleste
      @ElishaCeleste  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Hannah - if you can't lift your arm above your head, then I would actually recommend starting with your lats, triceps and chest. I have different techniques for each of those on the channel.
